  1. Since when are bacteria or viruses visible? I need to look more closely at that stuff...anyone seen a high-res still frame of it anywhere? Just spent about ten minutes looking for one without luck. They aren't, but they're carried by things like blood that are visible.
  2. it could also have been simply to show how far out the boat was on the water. The boat was like 100 yards from shore. They showed it very early on in the pan-out of the camera.
  3. Oh, it's almost definitely kelp. But the writers can claim it's something else. I kept waiting to actually see SOMETHING there when the camera panned to the ocean but was just like... "um... ok... seaweed... kelp... ok then. Nothing, I guess"
  4. I don't think every scene means anything in this show. But from time to time, they manage some actual honest to god storytelling & use narrative tools like foreshadowing & allusion. But there is an insane amount of filler in this show. It's just like there's SOMETHING that the show is missing. Like some sort of ... something. I can't quite put my finger on it. A few AMC shows have suffered from that. Mad Men, Breaking Bad, the OG Walking Dead... all had this like... build-up without the metaphorical orgasm. It's like television edging. That doesn't take away from their quality (sometimes), but I still felt like I needed a payoff of some sort. Even something tiny. Something that pushes the plot forward a little more regularly instead of middling around for a little bit for no reason & then lurching forward.
  5. Kelp/seaweed. -slym Don't think that's the case. They showed it way too much for it to be nothing. A few other reviews I read said Would make sense. And a way to essentially show
  6. Ahhh... another time we get into the "what should we call the 90's, cause 20-years old is way too long to refer to any age as modern age" discussion.
  7. Not everyone cares to take the time to learn the value of things. Not everyone has the time or patience to learn enough about the stuff they're getting rid of (especially when it wasn't theirs to begin with) to do more than a cursory look-around. And a good number of people, with a big stack of items (like comics), realizing their cursory research as taught them that only some issues in some series have any significant value, and that that value is dependent primarily upon condition, and that determining accurate condition requires a lot of experience, will essentially get overwhelmed & just take an "I just want to get rid of it" stance, and sell to the first person willing to do the work of getting them out & giving them money in the process without a long drawn out negotiation or what they feel is an insulting offer.
  8. Statements like that are often used to drive down asking price. Essentially setting up a scenario where her asking price & his disinterest in purchasing for any amount leads to a "compromise" where the LCS owner is "doing her a favor" by giving her a couple bucks. It's a negotiating tactic that gauges both the sellers urgency to sell, and their knowledge of the product they're selling. As for someone throwing them away rather than taking any money offered, sometimes the work lugging them to a store that's offering you only pennies isn't worth the pennies they're giving you. There's some miscellaneous stuff that I have in my house that, were I to want to rid myself of, would be easier to throw away than to sit on & wait for a reasonable price, or to sell for pennies.
  9. As long as I get the inevitable Jessica Jones/ Don't Trust The B In Apartment 23 mash-up gifs, I'll be super happy.
  10. is there something happening with it? I wish something would happen with Batman '66. Something did. It got cancelled.
  11. Seems like this guy doesn't understand pre-high-gloss page books. He's talking about the alignment & marker lines on the newsprint & the cutting tears or printing press cuts that are about as common in virtually very newsprint book I've ever owned as salt water is in the ocean.
  12. Now THAT return is going to require some explanation, unless it's a flashback. Considering that they showed him literally going all Raiders of the Lost Ark during his final episode of the original run. Unless we find out he's wolverine or a Super Soldier, he was very very dead.
  13. Can you swipe yourself tho? If so, Michael Turner did it a few times with reusing x-men and hulk art & just changing colors (or nothing at all)
  14. One that I don't know if it was mentioned yet, but Pride of Baghdad was also really good. It's another BKV thing. Was done in OGN format. Apparently I'm a sucker for books with animals as the main characters.
  15. On the actual nomination tho? I'm in agreement. Someone comes here, has issues, disappears & returns over and over, keeps engaging in questionable behavior even after called on the carpet & admitting it, creates sock puppet accounts & tries to hid their identity, yeah... there's a lot of shady there that just shouldn't be around here. And it's a pretty good indication that it wasn't a "oops, . Sorry. Totally my mistake & didn't think that thru. thanks for someone for slapping me upside the head" and more along the lines of "I'm just a shady dude. I'll keep being shady even when caught" I know my opinion means about nothing on this because I'm just some kidna newb dude, but just figured I'd direct the topic back away from crossdressing jokes (even if I maybe sorta started it)
  16. He's probably also a pretty snazzy dancer. And I'll bet looks better in a dress than Hoover did. But then again, maybe not. I have never seen Swick.
  17. He knows what you did this morning . . . He knows what you're doing RIGHT NOW. He's in your closet. AND in your bushes AND in the back seat of your car.
  18. So that 150 giveaway of a free one is actually possible, eh? But seriously... congrats dude. It's a book that people just want.
  19. Did. Give me communication or an apology? I'll let it slide, probably grumble a little to myself & likely not bid with them again for a while. Give me silence, cancelled sales just because the price was super low, and I'll nail them. I have given a grand total of 3 negatives in 15 years on ebay. This guy got 2 of them.
  20. So that seller I was getting ignored by? Cancelled the order claiming that supposedly both items I won were out of stock. And while I can't prove it, it's oddly convenient that BOTH items that sold cheap at auction are "out of stock or unable to fulfill for other reasons" & I'm going to go with my gut that the seller just cancelled because he didn't like the final hammer price on them. Is it possible? Sure. Likely for 1 of them to be out of stock? Sure. Likely both are? Not so much. So I'll add my first person to this list, but it's a seller: ell8046_ohrappnj
  21. Agreed. I loved every episode of season 1. Thought it was just a great show overall.
