  1. WTB: Action Comics 959 or 960 Pages and/or Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey Hello all, Looking for the following: pages from Action Comics 959 or 960 featuring Doomsday and/or Superman vs Doomsday from Tyler Kirkham. pages from Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey issues 1-3 - I would be interested in any page from this series (depending on cost) Send me a PM if you have anything!
  2. I don't think it is out in North America until the 18th Even if it sucks I will still watch it - just because of how good Aliens was
  3. I am a firm believer in something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it - but I think that point has been raised and debated at length. It seems like you understand this, but are still upset about people not engaging in pricing discussions - I think the problem is likely that people think the art is too overpriced and that their offer would be an insult, so they don't bother. While it may be people trying to buy art on the cheap - it may also be that it is way overpriced (i.e., if everyone thinks a page priced at $650 is a $200 page - then maybe it is a $200 page???). I understand that you may not set the prices or may not have total control over them (the artists do) - but then perhaps it needs to be a reality check with the artists??? Anyway, just my 2 cents ..... You have some nice stuff - nothing in my focus currently - but if you get any pages from the Death of Superman, Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey, or the original X-Men Age of Apocalypse (1995-96 - not the crappy new one ) - I would be happy to have a conversation about it,
  4. Well the good part is the listing says "No Restoration" so you should be able to escalate with Ebay. Hopefully it works out for you.
  5. Concur - I don't want a happy go-lucky movie for Ragnarok - seems disjointed/doesn't realize the gravity of the situation? Would prefer something darker out of this Thor with consequences - which we may still get.
  6. Really would have preferred Pitt or Shannon - ah well.
  7. Will there be a CGC SS option with Jim Lee? Any on-site grading from CGC in this respect?
  8. Good for you! Stand-up move that you were not obligated to do.
  9. I wish I had not sold my Showcase 4 and 22 - but the money went to a good use and I made a good profit and they went to good homes - but still miss them both
  10. Awesome book - I am surprised it is still here ......
  11. Awesome book and perfect sig placement ...... Just wow!
  12. Nice Grab. Been looking for a CGC graded copy - love this book!
  13. I am leaning Bats 16 as well Would love a Tec 38 or a 66 but out of my price bracket I will need to get a low grade or restored Bats 16 as it is.
  14. Well good to know I can't really make a bad choice here It may come down to witch one I can find in low grade first
  15. So hold on - there is the "New Old" case without the inner well, then the "New-New" case with the inner well AND now there is a variation of the "New-New" skinny case and "New-New" fat case? So what I surmise is that I want the "New-New" Fat Case to avoid the prism effect/newton rings?
  16. An early Tec would be nice - but I think out of my price range. To be honest, I love the Joker as a character and a Tec 168 would be ideal (but again quite pricey), but I don't get the crazy prices paid for an early Joker Cover (and or the boom for the Silver Age Batman 251 Joker cover) - I want the book to have significance, not just the cover (but that is a personal thing I guess and I am obviously in the minority). That is not to say I don't love those covers, but I just don't think the price premium is worth it. I love the Batman 4 and 16 cover - but really don't care for the 47 cover, although I love that it is the first detailed origin (i.e., the one every kid learns and knows). Just a tough call to choose between these three IMO.
  17. Still deciding on my first Golden Age Batman book to buy and have it narrowed down to these three: - Batman 4 - 1st Gotham - Batman 16 - 1st Alfred - Batman 47 - 1st Detailed Origin How would you rank them in terms of significance and importance?
  18. I frame them myself, all you really need is a special stapler that cost about $20. I always use acid free backing boards and mats, the cost delta isn't that much. I use an archival acrylic, non-glare, uv "glass". Just as an example, I bought two frames from American that I showed in this thread. The total cost including shipping was $ 286.15 so ~$143 per frame. I consider it pretty cheap when you consider I am hanging $10k to $20k worth of art. Fair enough. My issue is I am wanting to frame art that is $300 or so per page (a death of superman page and a batman knightfall page - both panel pages) and am looking at having it framed at a cost of $200-250 per page (in Canada) - which seems out of whack, but also don't want to skimp with my art, so ......
  19. Love those two Black Panther covers Do you frame these yourself or have it done professionally. What are everyone's thoughts on framing - do you need acid free mats and UV Glass or is that overkill if they are not hung in direct light? And how do you tell an acid free mat if buying frames retail?
  20. I agree that out of the three it is likely the least important - but I don't think it is so much less importance wise then Tec 411 - and the price gap between the two in grade is quite large. Edit: and as a disclaimer I don't any of the three books but am in the market for all three so I am happy Tec 405 is so "low"
  21. Kind of surprised there is not more love for Tec 405 (great cover) But there seems to be a ton of love for Tec 411 .... just surprised that there is that much separation between Tec 405 and 411. I would think a Tec 411 lover would love Tec 405 and Batman 232, so the three books would be on the same list ....
  22. These are awesome books - especially that Mikey on a 9.9! GLWTS
