I’ve been debating getting a few of these over to WATA for grading. Doing a little research to try and get comfortable with the process before I do. I don’t want any IMP coming back…like a PLOD in comics to me….

The first tell tale to avoid imp although not necessarily the only thing to look  for is that the Nintendo seal all be the same on the cart, Manuel,  and box

    for example all ovals

or all round seals with rev-a

or all round without rev a

again not 100% but if box has rev a round seal and Manuel has non rev a round seal then imp

This Heritage buyer can't be happy.  He paid $28,800 just a few weeks ago, then another copy in 9.8 sells last night at CL for $10,638...

    Yup

I follow these early dds 9.8 closely for years and years. First 20 DDs in high grade have been moving strong the last year

they were pretty dormant for years and years before that

was expecting 6-8k on this book because 9s   Are very common in 9.6 and even 9.8 in comparison to the other first 19 issues

The 28k aside 11k is still a solid price

wonder if the 28k played a part in that

i am assuming this 28k was collector at that price which means a couple of more grand on top of that for sales tax

  4. To me It holds the same nostalgic appeal as the comic books I collect - for that reason I need to buy one every year regardless of how relevant it remains

I picked up my first overstreet in 1989 - it was the single most exciting experience in my newly found love for collecting vintage comics as a kid. - you had price guides, articles, market information, vast comic book historic information, educational tools on grading, nationwide dealers selling rare comics I could only dream of owning one day, and detailed info on 1st appearances, key books. Reading overstreet taught me amazing fantasy 15, not amazing Spider-Man 1 was spideys 1st appearance. It taught me that many other characters like Thor ironman Batman Superman Wonder Woman green lantern etc 1st appeared in other titles and not their self titled issues which blew my mind at the time. In short it has every aspect of the hobby contained into one source

for me the simple answer to your question is that overstreet is a true comic book institution that must be supported and kept alive for future generations to enjoy and discover - regardless of the fact that it might not be as relevant as it once was.

  5. The last 3 months alone have seen another 50% jump

A 7.0 just sold for $11,350 on eBay

If you check current e bay ask prices from the last week or so sellers are trying to raise prices another 50% which I would not be surprised happening by end of summer

cheapest 2.5 is listed just under 4k

I love me some ASM 3! I had two copies one was an 8.0 which I traded for a video game straight up + $1k and my other copy which I still have is a 7.5. Unless I upgrade for cheap lol, they're not going anywhere

I collect games as well - What VGame did you trade for if you don’t mind me asking
