  1. Again, book looked nicer than a 6.5. GAtor had a 6.5 with a $6500 sticker on it in NYC and no bites.
  2. Or that the book looked too nice for a 6.0 holder. That's usually the case.
  3. Decent 'beat but complete' Action Comics #15 CGC 1.0 available if anyone is interested.
  4. When I'm capable of giving you a better one I will.
  5. I try and keep it within the [Canadian] family.
  6. Yep, it was mine. It was removed because it was the truth. Name me one other business that can still charge full price for a defective product. What did the post say?
  7. Grats. I scour Ebay for Planets all the time and did so as recently as Saturday afternoon. I didn't see a Planet Comics 14 listed. Makes me think that Ebay doesn't show me everything. Even now as I look to see the book you purchased and I look for completed auctions I can not find it. If you're searching on eBay.ca sometimes books on eBay.com do not show up.
  8. That's a gorgeous National #1 Larson copy, Adam! (thumbs u ------------------------------------------------------ In case anyone is interested, I just listed a gorgeous copy of Master Comics #35 (Raboy Nazi war cover) in the Marketplace. .
  9. I've also listed a gorgeous Startling Comics #50 CGC 9.4 right here. Book is available for 24 hours.
  10. Going to be listing some tough Golden Age books for sale in this thread. You're going to want to keep an eye on this one.
  11. I'm curious to know whether the well itself has this problem, just straight out of the box before it's even used to encapsulate a comic or is this defect introduced during the process (possibly be slight hand pressure at in the middle, back of the well holding the well during the sealing process)? Has anyone addressed this at all in the discussion?
  12. I really enjoyed the flick. It was a little naive in it's writing and delivery but I assume this is because it was written for the teenager crowd. I managed to overlook that and enjoy it. Made me feel like I was watching a Godzilla flick from it's heyday. I'm surprised it's doing as well as it is though. I didn't expect it to hit blockbuster status.
  13. Love that back cover. Was going to say that's a JIM #87 before I read the text.
  14. George H.? Nope! Ah well, a good guess. I like! I like!
  15. This word makes me laugh every time you write it.
  16. The lawyers see it one way. Everyone else sees it differently. I'm going to sidestep my usual reaction and side with the lawyers on this one.
  17. This seems like the correct solution to me. Start a "Pay It Forward" discussion forum here in this section, put a link to the discussion in the first post of the "Pay It Forward" thread and then keep a going list of known offenders.
  18. Wow. Unbelievable. Bill Finger co-created Batman, and created the Joker, the original Green Lantern, Wildcat, Robin the Boy Wonder, Alfred, Bat-Mite, Catwoman, Penguin, Two-Face, Bat-Mite? The guy was a genius.
  19. This thread was a real eye opener. The link is summarized a few posts after the first post.
  20. I believe someone even recently documented that the cover to Tec #27 was a copy of something else, wasn't it?
  21. It's kind of sad to see someone's reputation change like that over time. You idolize the guy as a kid only to have all the glamour stripped away one article at a time. People that I have dealt with that knew Kane personally said he wasn't too bad of a guy (I bought a sketch from a guy who said he painted Kane's home) but there sure are a lot of stones getting overturned showing how he tried to cover his tracks. There are threads in the GA forum that document regularly where Kane copied stuff and used it as his own. I can't remember the exact details but I believe it would be considered plagiarism today. Maybe it wasn't as big of a deal 80 years ago, but it certainly looks damning.
  22. It's too bad Ultron or Rocket Raccoon weren't in BB #28. It would be worth even more right now!
  23. Like I said, I thought it was a "benefit of the doubt' thing. I obviously disclose tape - at least I thought it was obvious - but I'd even explained that I do in parts of the conversation. As I said, the discussion was about tape but there were several other factors involved (as covered by Chris / comix4fun) I agree highly on both accounts. (thumbs u
