  1. If I had 10,000 bb cards, would I be encouraged to ditch them? Or if I had 10,00 stamps? Or coins? I think people are focusing too much on the size of the collection...or the space it takes up...or possibly the work involved in maintaining the collection. I have to say, none of that is a problem for me.(as long as I use short boxes and not the long ones) And I'm going to go ahead and assume that I'm not the only comic collector who doesn't consider his collection to be a burden. I know there are collectors out there, probably many many, who do. I wholeheartedly agree with you that "there comes a point at which our treasure can frankly become a burden", but I'll never reach that point, even if I live to be 100...for me, there's no such thing as "ones you don't care about". So for some, pruning is advisable and acceptable, for others (including me), not so much. It's all fun for me. I enjoy collecting comics. I wouldn't enjoy pruning.
  2. I agree. I'll be 60 next year & have close to 10,000 books at this time. I'm a little perplexed. Someone has some 'splainin to do. I'm looking at you @Wolverinex
  3. Is there such a thing?
  4. I agree. Too much potential for certain 'activities'.
  5. "mark each side of your shipping box with EX (or WT) in large, bold letters." Am I being paranoid, or is this something one needn't be concerned about? (there seems to be a lot of sticky fingers out there)
  6. I have no aversion to purple labels. I've often wondered...if restored comics didn't have lower FMVs, would people still feel so strongly against it?
  7. Long story short... Water pipe broke while I was at work. Came home to the kitchen flooded. Went downstairs to shut off the water. It was 'raining' due to the flood upstairs. Boxes of comics were like wet toilet paper. Had been out of comics for many years so had no idea of any values. Saved most ('saved' not being the best word), but threw one box away, due to all the comics were oversized and the box had no top. In the box were 2 copies of TMNT #! I had purchased off the shelf. Later found out what they were worth ... doctors blamed heart attack on cholesterol, but I know better.
  8. Yes. However, the indicia (is that the right word?) says it's Glory/Angela: Angels in Hell #1. (It's also on the CGC label). link
  9. Was it the same as it has been for awhile now where the Category was filled in at the same time as the grade?
  10. Yes they will. I specifically requested they slab a Darkchylde #1 flipbook (Glory/Angela #1) with the Darkchylde side, which was the back cover, facing front.
  11. I'm betting that due to the extremely long TATs, CGC is getting much more WTs and EXs.
  12. I don't understand this. Could you please elaborate?
  13. I've never even heard of writing ST on a submission. Is that even a thing?
  14. $1160 for 5 words. Yep, that's right, $232 per word. If I ever get to the point where I can charge $750 for my signature, I'll know that I've made it.
  15. What kind of case did you get? I have to report on the13th.
