  1. I've had a couple people like that. I didn't block them, but it was kind of irritating.
  2. I wore out my tpb of Infinity Gauntlet reading it to my son when he was a little . I did voices and everything. His (Ok, my...) favorite part to read was when Cap says "It's getting pretty ugly out there." (I went for the full drama effect.)
  3. I used to think the risk/reward ratio justified not putting 'no returns' in your listing. You know, losing business (which we all know you do when you put 'no returns' in your listing) versus possible bs returns. I'm thinking that ratio is shrinking to the point that putting 'no returns' in your listings might be justified these days.
  4. I'm not so sure. I bought a few books from CL (auction and exchange) back in late March/early April. Total of well over $1000. After a month, I emailed to ask why I haven't received anything yet. Exact reply..."There is just one Exchange book we're still waiting for. The seller has been contacted and I should know more by early next week. Really sorry for the wait." Still nothing.
  5. What causes this?
  6. Never really a problem with any of them. A hiccup now and then, but never really anything really problematic. Sometimes I get a little too impatient and create unnecessary stress, but that's my fault.
  7. Agreed. If you can do it yourself, do it. Don't leave it for someone else, they might not be as careful as you.
  8. Ok, I have to ask. Is he the same Kazar from the Golden Age or not? When I was a kid, I thought yes. Then as I got older, he was considered the son, or nephew?, of the GA Kazar. Now I notice that CGC puts "1st Silver Age appearance..." which would mean he's from the GA. So which is it?
  9. A couple of thoughts ... 1) I'm not familiar with the encapsulation process, but with all of these examples of foreign material getting in the slab, is there any possibility of something similar getting into the inner holder (that actually holds the comic)? 2) So, with all of these examples of 'bad' slabs getting thru, one could assume two things. First, QC techs at CGC are very cavalier about their job. Second, if said cavalierness is a fact, do the QC techs sometimes see this stuff and just shrug and let it go out.
  10. https://www.lowes.com/pd/SentrySafe-Security-2-18-cu-ft-Electronic-Keypad-Commercial-Residential-Floor-Safe/1000129603 This is the one I use. Well, I should rephrase that... This is the one I have.
  11. I've never been a pedigree guy. Is that date stamp (which gets a '10' on the stamp placement meter) a characteristic of all Green River's?
  12. When dealing with CGC's customer service, I've always hung up the phone feeling satisfied.
  13. "Turnaround times reflect the estimated number of working days to complete a submission delivered to our facility today. Turnaround times are estimates only and are NOT guaranteed. Due to high submission volumes, there may be a delay in opening incoming packages. Certain grading tiers are currently experiencing significant delays." The TAT is supposed to start when they get the package. Not when they mark it as RECEIVED.
  14. It says the 12th on the submission page.
  15. I guess one should feel free to do as much azzholishness as one wants, because there will be no consequences.
  16. It's just that a few years ago I had my bank account hacked and somebody took out thousands over a few days time. Of course, the bank gave me my money back, but I had to open a brand new account and go thru all the rigamaroo with all the utilities. Ever since then, I've refused to give out my bank account numbers to anyone (I use a capped card(s) for PP). I pay all my bills with a CC, and pay off the CC balance every month. That way I never have to type out my bank numbers on the web. I know, I know ... I'm paranoid. But it was a royal pain, and I want to reduce the possibility of it happening again.
  17. Got the dreaded email yesterday. Got till May 28th to comply. Haven't decided yet if I just want to wave bye-bye to Ebay and go the consignment route from now on, or simply comply. Is it true, I can still buy using PP, just not sell without Managed Payments?
