  1. So if you have guns, don't keep them locked up in a fire proof safe?
  2. Same with my Farrah Fawcett shrine.
  3. You know how airports accumulate unclaimed baggage? I was just wondering if CGC accumulates comics, through whatever means (unclaimed, damaged, etc) and what they do with them if they do?
  4. Tomorrow makes 7 weeks since my submission was delivered to CGC. Still not 'received' (delivered 4/29). I can understand how one might be frustrated by this. But if you think about it, it may be another step in the grading process, but according to @Jennifer F., it's all part of the TAT. So, the clock starts when it's delivered to their facility. Well, it's supposed to. This is a quote by her in the Ask CGC category of these forums... The current turnaround times on our website now reflect a more accurate time frame from when your package is delivered until approximately when it should be completed. Previously, it was only showing from when it was logged into the system. We hope by making this adjustment that it will give a more accurate timeframe for customers to go by. (The word 'delivered' was italicized by her.) BTW - has anyone experienced any Newton Rings lately, or is that part of the past now?
  5. I ALWAYS have FedEX hold my packages at the nearby Walgreen. I have a good relationship with my mail carrier. He's good about delivering any packages I have coming USPS. If I have anything coming UPS, it goes to my work. UPS comes daily, and the driver is a collector, so if he sees the word 'comic' anywhere on the package he comes and gets me.
  6. For those who have recently gotten their subs back, can you shed some light on whether the published TATs are closer going by the 'delivered' date, or going by the 'received' date?
  7. I see. For me, useless information. For others, Thanks for the link.
  8. A lot of the books in the current CL auction say 'registry set'. What's that mean?
  9. That's a really good idea. I would gladly give them my card info at the time of order, even if I knew it wouldn't be charged until the book(s) shipped. CL charged my card a total of almost $2000 2 months ago & just shipped them out last week. I'm not sure I would've spent that money if I knew how long it would take. If a 'charge when shipped' plan was in effect when I ordered, I probably would've just cancelled after 2 or 3 weeks. Come to think of it, that might be why they don't do it.
  10. I hope you're just a nice guy, because you weren't obligated.
  11. I trying to figure out how you would know what the highest bid the winner made.
  12. Technically, there is not a single scenario where that isn't true.
  13. I'm not a big fan of these signing events, but I would think it'd be appreciated by all who are to have the event start/end dates documented somewhere.
  14. Is there a way to refuse delivery if the postman comes while you're at work? So far I've had no problems, but it's only a matter of time.
  15. Can anyone verify that 7 weeks is a typical wait time when buying off CL's Exchange? I wouldn't think that combining them with auction winnings would make any difference, seeing as how all auction books are already in house.
  16. Yeah, these were a combination of auction and exchange also. Still, 7+ weeks?
  17. The books that I paid CL for back in late March/early April arrived yesterday For some reason, it seemed like I had to keep 'pushing' them to ship my books. They arrived safe & sound, though. I guess that's the important thing. Lots of unnecessary stress, though.
  18. They threw me a curveball Sunday. I ordered 1 Sausage McMuffin & 1 hash brown. I got home and they had given me four of each! I was on cloud 9. Now I know what winning the Lotto feels like!
  19. I haven't seen it yet, but the first one was pretty good. Not great, by any means, but pretty good. Especially for a horror movie. That said, doesn't it seem odd to anyone else that an actress, who has 'made it', would make a horror flick? I guess there are examples of it happening - Sandra Bullock/Bird Box - but I always thought that 'bigtime' actors looked down on horror movies.
