  1. I honestly don't think CGC would overlook half a dozen instances of pre Marvel chipping and include light interior tanning in the notes.
  2. No one has pulled the notes on this yet? Once again, absence of any mention of pre Marvel chipping would be a tell tale sign this slab has been compromised.
  3. Whats a "normal" price range this book? I think the last time a 9.8 CGC sold for around $350 and that was last year. I know the Huntress first appearance came out in All-Star Comics #69, but DC-Super Stars #18 is her origin story that supposely came out on the same day with ASC #69. It will be nice know if someone can confirm this with real data. It's been confirmed numerous times on here with rock solid evidence. It's absolutely true. Obviously that cover is much more appealing than the one page, floating head appearance in All-Star, but still.......................WOW! Can anyone expand upon the 1st appearance of the Huntress or navigate me to where the discussion took place? If both comics came out on the same day, how can ASC claim the 1st appearance if they are concurrent? I feel like DC-SS would be the winning book because of a much more in-depth look at the character and the origin. I know nothing about either book, but this raises an interesting topic. There are still some books that the market believes are first appearances when they are not, and some books are not given proper credit when they are actually first appearances. This happens when the emphasis is placed on covers and encapsulation versus content. Brave and the Bold 54/Brave and the Bold 60, although not Bronze Age books, are the clearest examples that come to mind.
  4. Olsen 134 and Forever People 1 are the best of the bunch IMO. How many movies is Marvel going to have Thanos cackle in the background? If DC wanted to make a statement they would have Darkseid blow up a few planets right out of the gate.
  5. If someone pulls the notes they should mention the pre Marvel chipping. That would be an easy tell for whether or not the holder has been compromised.
  6. Or......the DC movies haven't even really hit their stride yet. We could have a ways to go with some of these. In the end, it probably comes down to what else you could do with the money. If the answer is buy more comics they might be worth hanging onto.
  7. Great seller. Always a positive experience.
  8. Lots of folks asleep during that last CL auction. Those usually fetch more than $1000.
  9. I don't even wanna think about how much time and money Ive spent on this book today. I'm pretty sure I gave away a few of these as bonuses over the last year And, yes, that bagged copy is da bomb!
  10. Quick question, gang. Does Disney own the IP for the Micronauts themselves or only Captain Universe since he was introduced in the comics?
  11. Tec 474, 2nd Deadshot, 1st since GA, is absolutely scorching right now. No HG copies anywhere. Crickets on the WTB forum. This is one to pull out of the longbox if you've got one folks. Hopefully you have better luck than I did.
  12. Anyone know the venue for the $2500 9.0 sale on GPA?
  13. It's all good, brother. I'm going to try and drop this thread. In an era of covers, grades and labels, sometimes we can overlook what's inside. We can agree to disagree and go about it respectfully. Unless I'm provoked, I will bow out of this discussion and wish you gentlemen well. Happy Holidays, Blazincomics
  14. I was content to just let the thread die until Duck got mouthy again. I have nothing to do with the sale on ComicConnect, either as buyer or seller. I already own a HG 60 and if I wanted a HG 54 I could have one in about 5 minutes. That's not why this thread was started. If either one of you gentlemen can show me a panel in 54 where the Teen Titans are formed Id be happy to admit my mistakes and move on. Otherwise, as it says in Matthew 7:1, "judge not, lest ye be judged". I have tried to keep this on topic. The problem here is we all know that panel doesn't exist. The Titans are introduced on the cover and splash page of 60. It's the first appearance. I have no doubt.
  15. I absolutely agree that team was not called the Teen Titans until BB 60. No one disputes that. So let me get this straight, Duck. You are admitting BB 60 is the more valuable book. Here you clearly state 60 is the first mention of the Teen Titans. In the above post you concede that there is somewhere between a "majority rule" and a consensus (60-65%) here that believe the 60 is the first appearance. You do realize you can end this all just by posting a panel, right? All it will take is a 30 second scan from the BB 54 showing the Teen Titans in action, heralded and named as a team for the first time. You and I both know you can't produce that. Nobody can. The onus is not on me to prove anything. The evidence here is clearly one-sided. So much so that in spite of the CGC label and in spite of the Overstreet Guide a clear majority of knowledgeable collectors have demonstrated precisely where the Teenage Titans make their debut. The onus is now on you. Of course you can change all that with one 30 second scan. You've had 50+ pages of posting to do it.
  16. Once again you are doing a terrific job of debating on behalf of the 60, Duck. You have proven its the more valuable book.Thats a 6+ year old sale of the Pacific Coast 9.6 #60 BTW. As for the consensus I was referring
  17. No doubt BB 54 has the better cover and story. That's not what this is about. The BB60 is the first appearance because it casts away all the doubt. There is no question after reading the 60 as to who the Teen Titans are and whom the team consists of. If the story ended after 54 one might say that it was a great story and had beautiful cover art, but there is uncertainty as to what took place and whether or not a team was established in perpetuity. 60 may not have the bells and whistles but it does have the Teen Titans, and for me that is good enough.
