  1. New Mutants 100 signed by Liefeld is fetching $250ish in 9.8? Looks like I'll be driving up to Dayton in late March. I would have never guessed.
  2. -slym I like this one, too. For multiple reasons. The stuff of legends II
  3. I love it. My favorite BA book and reasonably priced IMO for one of the greatest turnarounds in the history of comics. The stuff of legends!
  4. This really is a terrific read and a great perspective piece. Thank you for taking the time.
  5. If we are talking speculation, and let's be honest, all of this is speculative. None of us has any idea whether or not Miles will be the next Spidey. We do know it's a possibility. How possible? 20%? 30%? Maybe 40 or 50%? Whatever the case may be, the risk/reward feels right. Because if Miles Morales is the next Spider-Man in the movies, this book might be the biggest Marvel key since NM 98. It could absolutely be on that level. We are talking Spider-Man here. And if not, it probably won't dip below $10-$15 if youve managed to score a real nice one. With a 75-80k print run it's not like the market is flooded. What your seeing here is instant gratification. Lots of $5-$10 comic shop hits turning into $75-$100 flips. I respect that. If money is tight do what you have to do. But I would recommend holding onto at least one or two. And if not, that's fine to, but let me leave you with just one question.... Are you feeling lucky?
  6. I always thought Petey was better in the comics than the movies. Mainly because most awkward teenagers never make it to Hollywood. Toby McGuire wasn't sincere enough. I did love him in Seabiscuit. Seabiscuit is an amazing movie. Love it. The novel is outstanding as well. I read the book as well. Still can't get over the fact jockeys used to ingest tapeworms

  8. Interesting that the same site had this to say over the weekend: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/spider-man/news/?a=115589
  9. +1 Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Marvel didn't go through all this trouble to use a largely unknown miles morales. They've been champing at the bit to get Peter in their movies. And that's who Spider-Man will continue to be. Anyone who seriously tries to suggest otherwise has copies of UF 4 they're trying to sell. -J. Looks like the AF 15 club has made its way to the modern forum Nah I like Miles too. In the Ultimate title. Marvel has already said they're not doing "origin stories" in the movies anymore so they can (and will) easily drop a new Peter Parker into the movies without even skipping a beat. He's their top selling solo character in comics, and has carried at least one solo title for the past 50+ years. I think we'll see Miles Morales in a cartoon on TV long, long before we see him as "Spider-Man" in a movie. (thumbs u -J. So Ms Marvel, Black Panther, Deadpool and Dr Strange are just going to drop out of thin air?

  11. So is anyone here investing in the GSX 1 when the NYSE opens at 9:30 tomorrow?
  12. Going through 3 different Peter Parkers over 6 different films would reek of Val Kilmer is Batman-esque desperation. Not only do I believe Miles will happen but I also believe he is now more likely to happen than another Peter Parker redux.
  13. Here's the thing guys. Sony took two shots at Petey Parker. One with Toby McGuire and one with Andrew Garfield. They tried the awkward, schmucky Spidey and the too cool for school Spidey. Neither was very effective. Plus they burned through a bunch of villains and killed off the Green Goblin in the first movie. They made quite a few tactical mistakes. Miles makes sense and I'm not convinced they use him in the current storylines past CW. They could use him to run through the gambit of villains that made ASM 1-20 such great reads in the first place. I'm talking Scorpion, Kraven, Mysterious, Vulture; etc. Miles could work, if for no other reason than Sony did Peter Parker no favors. I would not write off the UF 4 for around $20.
  14. :gossip:It's been all over the Internet all weekend.
  15. Jimmy Linguini knows his mess. He called this two weeks ago. Atta boy, Jimmy!
  16. . I'm getting the NG 1 sales when I click. Ygogolak is right. Nothing real impressive. All under $50.
  17. I don't think you can go wrong with either book. Pick the one that makes you the happiest and buy the nicest copy you can find within your budget.
  18. Wow. Jim Starlin is going to personally handle the adaption. Thanks for the tip, FD. Any action on Epic #3 yet?
  19. Man, I might have one or two of those as well. Thanks, guys. My family and I appreciate the info and I love the entertainment. I plan on donating a decent prize for the upcoming grading contest to give back (by decent I mean $80-$100 book) so please sign up if you have not already.
  20. Just pulled a 9.4/9.6 out of a longbox. You guys are all studs. I just want you to know that.
  21. Very nice, Sir. You are right on both counts. The 300 appears to have the top spot on the leaderboard unless we are forgetting one.
