  1. To be clear, it's the Marvel Knights Wave 2 insert. They did one for the first wave of titles (Daredevil, Punisher, Black Panther, etc.), and then another one that included the Black Widow content. https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Knights-Wave-Sketchbook-comic/dp/B076624YG7
  2. It's plateauing, and then will proceed to slowly rise again.
  3. Unless… when you use a facilitator, do they typically send in large batches to save on shipping? Maybe that's the way to go? Or is it generally more expensive to go through a facilitator?
  4. These days, everyone assumes that the Avengers #11 that is "Described as Near Mint," but isn't slabbed, has been trimmed, which is why it is not slabbed.
  5. There is a Facebook group for Cleaning and Pressing, if you're looking to find a presser. I've never used anyone through there, but there are a number of reputable people that the community recommends. Not sure how much it would cost for a high-value book.
  6. Yes, but the cover price on Harbinger is nearly 8X that of X-Men #94. How long did it take X-Men to reach $12.80? That would be more comparable.
  7. He appeared in Magnus Robot Fighter first. Also of note is that Toyo Harada appeared before Harbinger #1, in Solar.
  8. I'm going to just ignore Cap and focus on Cable here: Why does he have spatulas for fingers (left arm)? Is holding both a knife and the gun with his left arm, or is the knife part of the gun? What's the deal with the thumb on his right hand? Shouldn't that be flat up against it, supporting the flat part of the gun? Right now, he's just poking it. That would allow the gun to jiggle around a bit. Is the front of the gun cut at an angle? Cuz the gun is pointed at an almost right angle to the viewer.
  9. Funny, but issues 1 & 4 are the two issues I'm missing from my run. The rest I picked up when it came out.
  10. Basically this. When I was last checking comichron numbers a couple of years ago (before covid, and before DC changed their distribution, when all comics were distributed by Diamond and a lot easier to track), typical sales for a Valiant comic were maybe 5K or so, and that's split between all of the variant covers. If Valiant ever takes off again, I think any key issue or decent cover of the post-Dinesh era could be a goldmine.
  11. Legend of Zelda #1 Captain N Game Master #1 (1 result over $250) Looking at the sales results of the Valiant Nintendo books, there are probably a few others that would make the list if there were high-grade slabs available for sale.
  12. It was the first Valiant title that was a new property (after Magnus and Solar, and a month before X-O Manowar). I think the value has to do with a number of things. • As mentioned, it has condition issues, probably stemming from the coupon insert. • Coupons were removed from a number of copies to redeem the limited pink version of Harbinger 0. • Hype at the time. In his editorial in issue 1, Jim Shooter compared the book to Avengers #1. (A bit of a stretch, but clearly Shooter thought more of the property.) I don't recall a similar comparison being made for other titles. • First appearance of the 5 main characters. Other original Valiant creations were teased in other books. The X-O armor (but not Aric) popped up in Solar. Rai debuted in Magnus. Jack Boniface had a cameo in X-O before becoming Shadowman in his first issue. • The story at the time was a huge departure from other mainstream superhero comics at the time. In my opinion, it doesn't quite hold us so well on a re-read now, since comic storytelling has evolved a lot since then, but it was unique for the time period.
  13. I think the rate of growth in the number of books slabbed probably corresponds somewhat to the amount of money entering the hobby. (I don't have data on this, but I think common sense would indicate that the growth of the number of books that it's financially worth slabbing would clearly be affected by this.) Since I don't expect the amount of money entering the hobby to continue that growth rate, I don't think that the projections will hold. And actually where reality breaks with the projections (if it does) may be a good point to reference, if the hobby experiences a downturn, to see if those two points are simultaneous.
  14. Not sure, but if true, at the very least it was a consistently published title, if not monthly.
  15. I don't have either issue. I was going by what's listed on the Marvel wiki (which, of course, could be incorrect)
  16. Considering that a well-known actress is co-writing, I would think that it's quite possible that a development deal for the screen is already in the works, so I ordered a few copies; the main cover, no pricey variants. No idea what the quality will be; we'll see.
  17. Unless this is creator-owned, you'll never hear of an "option" because DC/Warner would already have the rights.
  18. As noted, they may not meet, but this is a nice cover, so I could see people going for this issue anyway. I could see hilarity ensuing as people hear Daredevil Annual 4 is taking off because of Namor/Black Panther, and then going and grabbing the annual from 1989, which was supposed to be #5, but incorrectly numbered as 4 on the cover, and part of the Atlantis Attacks storyline.
  19. You could always add their first appearance in their own title to the mix (but that's Modern): https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Soviet_Super_Soldiers_Vol_1_1
  20. No, it's a qualified statement. Her name is only Red Sonja if they give the devils scarlet wine to drink that dawn. Which they don't do until issue 24, which is why that issue is more important. Cuz otherwise her NAME'S NOT RED SONJA!
  21. With a cameo inside, wouldn't that essentially be a 1st Bishop situation? Not sure why the market would prefer the 1st full for Bossk, unless it's because the market is already crazy for 42.
