  1. I don't think they were stickering them. I think they were just asking stores to charge the correct price.
  2. betre-2725 Bid on an item 4 days before the auction closed. 2 days after winning, sends a message: “Do not want this item was unable to remove my bid.” And you never bothered to try to get help with that? Unlikely.
  3. On principle I wouldn't buy from a guy that wears his hat that way.
  4. If I'm not mistaken, 99, with the cover appearance, was getting some heat when this first started heating up as well.
  5. $10/copy for Batman 436 seems like a lot when individual copies aren't always selling fore that much. And also, you're going entirely off of the seller's description of "high grade" https://www.ebay.com/itm/124844134679?hash=item1d114a5117%3Ag%3ACTAAAOSw1TZhD--7&nma=true&si=XhtywP511zpHnRnKeOw71PFn4Yo%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  6. Not sure if Sonic comics have a huge fan base, but obviously if some issues are selling for $35, there's got to be people out there buying them. I would list them as auctions with high opening bids. That way if just one person sees them, they don't sell for too little, but if it is a hard to find book and multiple people see it, it may sell for more.
  7. I met Doug Murray at a convention or a store and got him to sign one of the issues.
  8. I imagine a lot of the later issues are really tough to find. Print run has to be low. Considering they were trying to prop up sales in the '50s by running a Punisher story, they must have been tiny by the '80s. Considering all of the Viet Nam media in the '80s, I imagine that the time for adapting the comic has passed. It would be interesting if they tried a similar comic about Iraq or Afghanistan
  9. Some really nice results for the Vigilante issues with Peacemaker as well.
  10. I imagine if we looks across the history of comics (especially since multi-issue storylines became the norm) we'd find a lot of examples of 2 characters fighting each other and then fighting together on subsequent covers.
  11. I'm interested in what other covers look like the pic of an indy band about to drop their next album
  12. I thought the posted would be offering that protection as well, but I recently popped open a few of these Midnight Sons polybagged books to send in for grading, and they still had an indentation. I'd highly recommend opening them. One possibility to consider is putting the comic in a Modern bag, and then putting that in a Silver bag and board with the poster and the polybag (the reason for the double bag is so the book is no longer touching the polybag, which may have acids that will hurt the book)
  13. That's what I did with my polybagged comics, if there was something printed on the bag. If the bag is blank, no reason not to throw it away.
  14. I imagine that's more due to this just being a rare variant. If your collecting focus is on first appearances, you need those other books. If you're a completist, then you need this but you still need those other books.
  15. For sure it's in that group in 9.8. Somewhere in the top 10 (if not in the top 5) for sure if we're considering all grades.
  16. Solar 10 was at least a couple of months before Unity, when the print runs really exploded, so not quite "a metric ton," but certainly more than a lot of print runs today.
  17. Yeah, that's why the Harbinger Foundation was based there as well.
  18. The New Universe was Jim Shooter's baby. The shift probably happened when he was booted as editor in chief. A lot of people at Marvel had issues with him. That's probably why they destroyed Pittsburgh (Shooter's home town).
  19. From 2017. I think it would easily go for at least twice that now.
  20. Wasn't there a recent auction of a 9.9 for both this and X-men Annual 14?
  21. I've actually got a copy of this book. I think it was in some comic 3-pack I got back in the late 80s.
