    Nice finds.

Has anyone done research on the amount of Direct Edition copies exist with this error? I believe all of the newsstands were printed with the #1, but there were two Direct Edition versions -

Since Quasar was part of the Operation: Galactic Storm cross-over, but usually only available in the direct sales market, Marvel released newsstand editions of #32-34 labelled on the covers as #1-3 for the newsstand market so those buyers would not miss part of the story. However, this was a direct version of the newsstand version. Source

There is only one Direct Sales version of issues #33 and #34.

This eBay listing shows a direct edition with the #2 on it, the regular direct version says #33

Here's a listing for a direct edition with #3, regular version is #34

$200???!! Who gives a mess about Pitt anymore?

It's more of the difficulty of finding this particular ashcan not signed, as almost all the copies of it were.

The later issues of Pitt also go for a premium because of low print runs.

    not sure..are you still selling?

Nope, already sold. I also received a PM from another board member on this a couple weeks back, so there appears to be some interest in this book. I sold it a while back on eBay. The person I sold it to listed it again on eBay and flipped it for a nice profit for himself. It ended up selling via Best Offer for $200.

  4. I check Craigslist occasionally, but usually find it's a waste of time. Most of the ads are people wanting to buy, and the selling ones are usually someone with junk books. This listing caught my attention, though:

    https://reading.craigslist.org/zip/d/thousands-of-comic-books/6698586372.html

free comics, I figured most of it would be drek, but I figured all it would cost me was some gas and the time to take a look. Was a little wary, but I figured since they listed an address that it was likely the books would be at curbside. Sure enough, when I arrived, I saw a bunch of boxes outside. Most of the boxes were sealed cases, but there were also some long boxes. I saw the sealed boxes were Markosia graphic novels. I was then hoping the long boxes might be the "80's books" mentioned in the listing, but no, it was more Markosia graphic novels. If there were any 80's books, they were already gone, and the ad had only been posted a couple hours before I got there. I loaded my car with a few boxes of books. Now I just have to figure out what to do with them! There's still a lot more if anyone is in the Reading, PA area.

Yeah, I have had "Image, Turtles" on my eBay watchlist for a few years. Granted, I only use the eBay app which I believe doesn't do the best search but it finds most. I try and check every issue that comes to market from the series. I find 1-2 a year if i'm lucky. Issue 2 has come up maybe 3 times. I have seen 1 badly damaged copy of issue 3 and 1 copy of 4. Strangely, issue 1 is the most common issue of the series, by far, and I have yet to see a newsstand for it.

A member here posted a photo of issue 8, so I know they at least made that many. That's it. After all this time, I can only verify 2,3,4 and 8.

Yeah, I didn't see any Image Turtles newsstands listed on eBay when I checked recently. I picked these up at a comic show last weekend. I would have purchased any of the Image Turtles books, so seeing they were newsstand editions was a nice bonus.

Did online sources list the last issue of Gargoyles as existing, though?

I just double checked Mile High, Atomic Avenue and Grand Comics Database and NONE of them have this book listed. In fact, I'm sure I've checked mycomicshop's listing for this title before and this book wasn't listed the last time I looked, so it must be a recent addition. I guess my next step would be to try to contact Reggie Byers online and see if he can shed any light on this.

I contacted Mr. Byers and he responded quickly. #9 does indeed exist, but apparently it's pretty rare, Mr. Byers doesn't even have a copy! Needless to say I am intrigued and will be looking to buy a copy of this if I ever find one.

  8. I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this, as most of the books in this thread are able to be found in the wild, just not frequently. Here's one that didn't exist as far as I knew, but all of the sudden, mycomicshop.com has a picture of it, Shuriken #9.

As far as I knew, there were only 8 issues in this run, but all of the sudden I'm seeing this listing. Can't find evidence anywhere else of it existing. I doubt if anyone else would know or care, but I figured I'd ask.

Still haven't found the elusive 1st print #1 with the local Milwaukee ads!  I look through every copy I find :wishluck:

If I recall correctly, I believe I picked up my copy of #1 with the local ads from Collector's Edge, the one time I was able to convince them to allow me to root through their underground boxes.

This is a scan of the insert above, I can print it out if you need that, or feel free to just save a copy for yourself. Let me know.

  10. Here's my contribution, another underground, but not the typical UG comix sticker. Instead, it's a unique looking sticker, with the original (large) price blacked out by a marker. It also came with an info sheet on the creator. When I acquired this one, I thought I had discovered a new printing, not just a price stickered copy.

Just had my first disputed via Pay Pal claim sent to me. The person left me positive feedback after I delivered the non-comic item in 3 days. Now-- 52 days later -- suddenly this item was never authorized for purchase. It was for a zippo lighter. Not even 13 bucks. And so that paltry amount of money is tied up while Pay Pal reviews the case. Reading the fine print of how this is handled-- that money might be tied up for 75-90 days or possible not given back at all. And they did not return this or bother contacting me via ebay.

I have posted them on the Bad Buyers website (https://badbuyerlist.org/  in case you are interested in adding some of yours there as well)

I'll post their name in case they suddenly start buying comics too-- as I have blocked this account for obvious reasons.

    ebay user id: alfredo78542

Sounds almost identical to the situation I just had, except my buyer never left feedback. It only took three days for me to have my money released back to me, so assuming you shipped with tracking, you should get your money back sooner than later.

if you don't involve Ebay, they will still charge you the final value fees. You cannot go around them and still get those fees refunded-- they will show on your invoice as a seller.

The book was sold through eBay, so I should be paying eBay their fees. I didn't lose out on anything. I sold the book and was paid. I paid eBay their fees and also Paypal fees for receiving the money. The only thing I lost was the usage of the small amount of funds I got for the book (less than $20) for a few days while they "held" the funds. I wonder if the person who did the chargeback also got their money back and if so, who lost out on the funds.
