  1. I would like to know what the "turn around" time was for the first "Promise" book.
  2. 09/21 - 43 since USPS showed package delivered. Today I received a Submission Acknowledgement from CGC. I then typed my tracking number into their system and it says... "Your package has either not been delivered or has not been scanned by our staff. Please check back in a couple of days."
  3. Apparently they are not scanning packages in the order they arrive. Maybe they just toss them in one big pile and then throw darts at them to decide which one to scan next. IDK. I appreciate you sending this info. Good luck with your grades!!
  4. Update - It is now 09/17 and CGC still has not even scanned my package yet. In what world is this considered acceptable customer service? USPS shows pacakage delivered on 08/09 and yet CGC still has not even scanned it as received. 39 days and counting.
  5. This is the screen I used. I typed my tracking number in and they say it is not in the system (even though USPS shows it as delivered 8/9). I have so many books that I would like to submit to CGC, but I just don’t have the patience to be without the books for the time it takes. And not scanning packages in when they arrive just makes me too nervous. On a positive note, this does save me a lot in grading fees. Lol.
  6. Just an update. I am beginning to become a little concerned. It has now been over 3 weeks since the USPS states they delivered my package to CGC and yet, CGC is still not showing the package as having even been scanned. I would like to know that they at least recieved the package (regardless of when they decide to grade it). Is it really that difficult to scan packages as they arrive??

Purchased a book from Ed last week. He was easy to deal with, shipped quickly, and packaged the book securely. Pleasure to do business with this awesome member of the board!
  8. Thank you for that update. I hope under the new management, things will improve. If your package was delivered two weeks ago and is still not showing up (not even scanned), that seems problematic. I wouldn't think scanning a package would require a lot of time. Thank you, again.
  9. I sent a package to CGC some time ago. USPS shows that it was delivered to CGC on 08/09 and yet when I type the trackng number into CGC, they say they don't have it (it has not yet been scanned). This seems strange to me. I get that they may be behind in actually "grading" books, however, shouldn't they at least be scanning packages as they arrive (so they can account for what is actually there)? IDK. Is this normal? I do not submit to CGC all that often, so maybe this is normal. Any insights from you guys that are far more experienced at this than I am?
  10. Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day. Apparently at MH, you can buy a complete set of this year's "free" comics for $100. https://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/backissue.cgi?action=direct&issue=33733656155 1 I don't even know what to say anymore...
  11. I will say that not everything is about making the most money (as I once believed companies were in business to do). If this was the case then why are there so many more “ R “ rated movies than say PG 13, even though PG 13 movies on average take in a lot more money. if I were a movie company, I don’t think I would ever make an R rated movie. It just does not seem to make as much good business sense as other rated movies. Just my thought. Perhaps off topic. If so, I apologize.
  12. My condolences on the loss of your brother. Losing a sibling has to be a very difficult thing.
  13. I am not sure I am allowed to post here as I am NOT a "long time" board member, however, I just had to say what a great set of books you have there. Daredevil is awesome and those are some fine examples. Beautiful! Congrats!
  14. Thank you! I have been trying to resist this. What an awesome cover. Congrats.
  15. I received an email from Chuck yesterday. In part it said..... "The good news is that I am unearthing an abundance of issues that I purchased during my West Coast buying trip that are filling key gaps in our website offerings. To provide but one example, I unearthed a near-complete run of the Star Wars (1977) series yesterday afternoon. We already had individual copies of most of these issues in stock, but those newly-found treasures will help us to fill in many gaps in the spread of grades that we can offer you. That makes a big difference to me, as my goal is not only to have every comic book printed since 1956 in stock, but also to offer you as broad of a range of price options as possible. In that regard, excellent progress was made." I found this interting in many ways. 1) I never really thought of MH as the place to go for books from 1956. I concede that they have a great selection of modern books, however, I had typically found their SA and GA selection, shall we say "lacking". IMO. 2) He states that he wants to "offer you as broad a range of price options as possible". This may be true IF by broad range you simply mean a wide price difference between high and low grades EVEN IF ALL THOSE PRICES ARE INSANELY HIGH at ANY grade. So, I went to the MH web site to see about both the selection and pricing of books from 1956. As many of you know, I am a big fan of Action Comics and so I decided to look at Action Comics from 1956 (issues 212 - 223). To my great surprise, Chuck actually had seven (7) of these twelve (12) books in stock. That is pretty good. IMO. I then went to MCS and found them to have eleven (11) of these twelve (12) books in stock. @mycomicshop. Much better, but still I will give Chuck credit for having a decent selection of 1956 Action Comics. Now to pricing. Issue 212 - MH - Not in Stock - MCS - 1 copy in CGC 3.0 for $140 Issue 213 - MH - 1 copy in G for $1,407 (I almost fell out of my chair when I saw this) - MCS - 1 copy in CGC 4.0 for $150 Issue 214 - MH - 1 copy in VG for $3,072 (OK, now we really are getting ridiculous) - MCS - 3 copies from Poor to VG/FN from $13.50 to $190 Issue 215 - MH - Not in Stock - MCS - 3 copies for immediate sale Issue 216 - MH - Not in Stock - MCS - Not in Stock Issue 217 - MH - Not is Stock - MCS - 2 copies Issue 218 - MH - 1 copy in Fair - $705 - MCS 2 copies Fair - $52 and CGC 3.0 for $125 Issue 219 - MH 1 copy in Fair - $705 - MCS - 3 copies from $44 - $275 (the $275 is for a CGC 6.0) Issue 220 - MH - 1 copy in Good - $1,407 - MCS - 3 copies from $44 - $135 Issue 221 - MH - 1 copy in Good for $1,155 - MCS - 3 copies from $13 - $250 Issue 222 - MH - Not in Stock - MCS - 2 copies from $80 - $225 Issue 223 - MH - 1 copy in Fair fo $578 - MCS - 3 copies in 3.5 for $99.95 - $125 SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps Chuck's plan to have every book from 1956 on up is to price them SO HIGH (MILE HIGH) that no one can afford them. That way they will stay in stock.
  16. I admit, I would like to go and see this place in person. I am assuming he does not charge admission (probably should not give him any ideas) and so it wouldn't cost me anything just to look and enjoy the vast quantity of material he has acquired.
  17. What a great book. If someone has not read this, they are missing out. It is a great read and a great piece of comic history. Thanks to the OP for offering these here on the boards.
  18. Looking through this thread, I didn't see a copy of this book. Please forgive the poor photography.
  19. Welcome to the Boards. Always happy to see another collector join us here. BTW - Awesome books - Congrats.
