  1. This is a recent purchase.  Pd a lot of money.  How did this grade out to 98? So if I get sigs on it will it retain the 98. My thought is no.  What's goin on with CGC.  I submit all the time and I'm starting get back lower grades amd now I'm seeing more and more 98 graded books that look like 94s to me.  I will b pissed if this thing comes back 94.  I don't know if I want it anymore.  I'm like some of yall now.  Don't know if I want to keep on submitting books anymore or buying these 98s with chopped up corners.

Seems like they call them factory discrepancies initially, then when sigs get on them all of a sudden they're not.

    WHAT IS GOING ON?

There are dealers there that will accept submissions. I know Basement Comics is there, and I'll be dropping off things to have pressed and then submitted.

I asked if they were accepting and what the fees were and the response I received made no sense and didn't even tell me what the fees were.  I wont b going. I'll just sit back and wait till CGC goes.

Yikes! Last minute.  Just contacted them.  Only if the price is right.  If I'm going myself I don't want to pay $20 per signature which is what I'd have to pay using a facilitator. I have about 25 or so books with multiple sigs I want, so that will add up to $$, so I may as well go myself or dismiss the whole thing completely.

    Thanks for lettin me know

Ps.  All predicated on tickets still being available

Will you ever plan to attend Terrificon or any of the other great comicons in the Northeast that aren't NYCC?? Terrificon is a great opportunity to reestablish yourself here as the grading and preservation leader over your competitors. I've used whomever I can to get the best product for a reasonable price but I'm sick of using the other guys and want to be 100% cgc loyal without going bankrupt using third party facilitators. Thanks for your time, im sure you will see it will be worth your while.

They've been to terrificon b4.  Don't know why they're not going this year.  May have been called something else, but it was definitely in Connecticut

It's fine to be angry but it is definitely the risk you take when you submit books to any grading company.

Also, it could be in the exact same condition and just get a different grade.

This is one thing we know about CGC.... just send a book in until it gets the grade you want.

    Lastly... best JLA line-up ever.

    Yea, I know

I am pretty sure the new employees are grading the bulk moderns that cycle through. The ones that last get bumped up to older books that require more extensive checks, and I image the ones who are long enough for that to happen get paid more, with the lifers who make the most handling the walkthrough high value books. At least that is how I would do it.

The newbies got a good starting bonuses that Cgc was offering last year

  7. Don't listen to that bull about Chandler's sickness as an excuse on why your book were damaged.  In my opinion desert wind was trash long before he got sick.  Case in point.  1) Noble causes 3b was supposed to be signed by Valentino, Farber, Walker at Emerald city comic con 2012 (only Valentino signed. When I asked I was told it didn't make the plane)

    2) one of my multi sigs heroes for hope starring the x-men was a 9.8 and came back a 9.6 with different sigs on it.  Sharon's response was  something like we don't see any Heroes for hire.

    3) Wolverine limited series 3 with Stan Lee, Rubinstein, Trimpe, Wein, Romita went from 9.8 to 9.4.

This was all around 2012, long b4 any sickness.  I've learned my lesson and I never use desert wind or celestial or whatever name they want to go by.  They've screwed me several times over and didn't give a hoot.

Once at Baltimore I watched chandler manhandle a book while bagging it, while standing up talking to a client.  Wasn't even paying attention to the book and was mostly into his conversation

They upped it to 5, and up to 10 on eBay Motors. If you do a Google search, both 3 and 5 will show up in the results because not all links are up to date.

Wow, that's a lot.  That many seems pointless

Good reason to be worried - my SS just came back and was downgraded from 9.8 to 9.6 with grader notes saying "very light crunch left bottom of front cover through book." So incredibly disappointing since I sent them an encapsulated 9.8. Not sure where the accountability lies with CGC screwing up books in their possession. I digress...

I've gotten several books back that were downloaded.  I don't send books in to them anymore.  My Batman 400 now has a chipped corner and that was after submitting at a con.  Went fron 9.6 to 9.4.  I wont give them window bags when they crack my yellow labels anymore.  I give them regular mylite2 bags with boards.  Just put them in and I'll transfer them to thw window bag.  I've lost trust in them now.  Punisher War journal 1 9.8 to 9.6, Justice League America 1 (1987) 98 to 96, Six million dollar man 2 90 to 85 amd others that I slip my mind right now, but I've lost trust.  Maybe it's the people in the back at the shows that don't pay attention or maybe the graders.  I know several years back they used to open the slabs in the open and I watched a guy flappin his mouth while crackin open a slab and all I thought was I'm glad it's not my book, now they hide behind the drapes and I don't think that's any better cause my books still got ruined.  Like I said just put them in the bag and I'll handle the rest

Random question for the group: how many counter-offers do you typically send to potential buyers on eBay? If someone sends you an offer, and you send a very fair counter, is that usually your final offer, or do you go back and forth a few more times?

Ebay only allows u either 2 or 3 counters

Thanks, that’s the order I read it.  His reply was perhaps a bit snarky but he was still trying to complete the transaction.  But your reply, message 4, was pretty rude and ended any hope of completing the deal.  We all react differently to these situations but from I’m sitting you were out of line and started name calling

After he implied that I was an i.d.i.o.t when he said u can't figure it out, I was done with him
