  1. I'm having troubles understanding this post I have a Tec 1 and 27 plus a Bat 1 you follow that. I did not want to send the books thru the mail for the reason Wayne-Tec posted lost lost and lost. I drove to pgx 500 miles away to get them graded rather than take a chance of lost in the mail. Is that better MetalPSI When you have that kind of books i guess you have an aproppiate insurance i mean something similar to art dealers and collectors If you have 3 books like Batman 1, Detective 1 and 27...even if you do not have private insurance to cover them....using a carrier that will insure them for FMV and paying the higher cost for CGC or Voldemort grading makes infinitely more sense to me than saving money on cheaper grading costs by using PGX. With the subpar market confidence in PGX, you are leaving muuuch more money on the table when the books are sold. What Woowoo would have been better off doing would be to have subbed the 3 books through ComicLink (who would have subbed the books to CGC or Voldemort and fronted the cost)....then would have handled the sales of the 3 books for a 10% commission (13% if the buyer paid by CC)....not to mention, you get CL's discount on CGC/Voldemort grading fees. Which is just what eBay would have charged....and you get the benefit of a trusted firm like CL, handling all aspects of listing & selling the books. I understand not wanting to put out large chunks of cash in grading fees, but come on....PGX? I have no issue with covering modern CGC fees myself bc the overhead/buy in in relation to return % on the investment is much better on moderns than (most) pre-1975 books...but Woowoo's reasoning is inherently flawed. I have a couple dozen high grade BA/SA books ( mostly books with GPA sale points around $250-$400....some books that I have bought over 15+ years ago...back when it was possible to buy unpressed HG SA books at small cons for 50% off Overstreet..before CGC came into play and obliterated that possibility. Unfortunately, I sold the best keys from those older buys I made, years ago before movie values exploded on them.....like an unpressed VF FF 48...unpressed Det 359 in VF....ugh. When I do get around to dry cleaning and pressing the books I have left.....now that I've wised up....they will all be going to CL and the CGC fees will be covered by CL and paid out of my end, when each book sells.
  2. I would call again and ask for a supervisor. Engage the supervisor in the same line of questioning.Do not explicitly lead him into making a statement about a FedEx employee possibly having stolen the package, but usher the conversation into that direction, if you have to.Make sure that your tone is very polite and overall friendly/understanding, otherwise the supervisor will be less than forthcoming. In short, play up the wounded bird angle. Before you call, put the settings on your cell phone onto "Record". Download the saved file from your cell onto your desktop computer . Not that this will guarantee that you are reimbursed if the package was in fact stolen, but it cannot hurt to have such a conversation recorded, if you have to file a claim.
  3. Mistake in the title. I wonder if they will honor the sale. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BATMAN-BatGirl-Adventures-12Comic-NM-CGC-8-0-Harley-Quinn-1st-Appear-Spanish-/122053247144?hash=item1c6af0c0a8:g:oboAAOSwbYZXbtaD Until its in hand it isn't a sale. Which still doesn't mean much anymore with the return system. Regular 8.0's are worth around $450. Add in the fact that it's a Spanish edition and the $150 or so sale price....well, how much more can one expect to get for a Mexican comic that has a limited collector base? Tops would be $250, I'd think.....and you'd probably be sitting on that book for quite some time, intil the $250 BIN was hit.
  4. As the plot of the show is starting to unravel, Preacher's ratings are trending upwards.... http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2016/07/17/cable-live-3-ratings-july-4-10-2016/
  5. it looks more like a 7.0 than a 5.0 - hidden flaws? Not really. Grader's notes indicate a number of small flaws. Apparently, CBCS interpreted those flaws as a 7.0 and CGC as a 5.0. Nothing there that would indicate the CBCS graders overlooked something. But, yeah, it is a very strong 5.0 to my eye. Without seeing a BC scan, I can't really say with any certainty but that book looks much better than a very strong 5.0 to me. What do the graders' notes say? I see absolutely no reason why that book would grade out at a 5.0.
  6. Looks like an 8.0 to me. The description in that auction is pretty much as well honed of a swindle as you can get, without being downright criminal. Key points being a two fold double whammy, bait and switch sucker punch: The seller states he is not a professional grader, so he gets to opt out of actually assigning a grade to the book....initially, drawing in the suckers with the bait of basically saying that he doesn't know what he's doing. Then he adds in the switch of "This book will benefit from a press" to nail it home. Seeing as all of the spine ticks break color to one degree or another, a press will have a minor effect on the book. Best case scenario is a press bumps it from an 8.0 to an 8.5.... My take is that the seller knew exactly what he was doing.
  7. to my understanding they have abandoned the Old Man Logan story for a Weapon X story that features the creation of a female wolverine X23 ( and handing the Wolverine mantle to this new character ). If you don't mind going into a bit of detail...how did you come to that understanding?
  8. Yeah, it's not the same book. I was going off of the earlier posts by PJK, MetalPSI and yourself. My mistake for only looking at the grade on the label and taking the say of a few boardies with high post counts, instead of looking closer at the two scans.
  9. Eh, it is pretty plain to see that Jesse's lack of understanding of man's ability to choose is being used as a plot vehicle. He is being shown as full of himself, in order for him to be forcibly shown that he is misusing his power. Sending Arseface to Hell will certaimly be the catalyst for Jesse to take stock of what he is doing wrong and what he should be doing with his power. I think that by the end of this season, the driving plot of the comic will be revealed and (loosely) mirrored in the show. That being, to track down God and to hold Him accountable.
  10. Gotta wonder why you waited over 3 years to handle this, that seems a bit crazy to me.No offense. Send him a PM about the nomination for the PL/HOS list, as a formality.Maybe he'll respond but it is doubtful. You may be able to get a chargeback through your CC company, doesn't matter if you paid through PP or not. As long as you have proof that you paid and the book was never received, chances are that your CC will refund the $185. Then again....the fact that you waited 3 years may skewer the chargeback process.I've never done this but it's worth trying.
  11. Dunno where you're coming from with this, at all. Leto is a fairly well accomplished actor, to begin with. From the small amount of footage that I have seen of him in this role, he plays the role of a deranged criminal mastermind as good as anyone could.

I bought a few hardcovers and comics off Ed over the weekend, got them today. Top shelf.
  13. So, you're saying Superboy 19 is not the book to buy...on what basis?
  14. I've been told who all of these people are supposed to be portraying for nearly a year, and looking at this , I'm still not sure who they all are. -J. Top, L. to R.: Robocop, Fresh Prince, Kicking Wing from Joe Dirt (he likes snakes and sparklers!) Middle, L. to R.: Some hired Help (she should have won the Oscar for that...), She is nude in Wolf of Wall Street, my dream fetish!!!, 30 Seconds to Joker Bottom, L. to R.: My Ex, Killer Crocs Shoes, Another Role Jai Courtney is going to suck in...he's throwing boomerangs for Christ's sake!!! You can't be serious! Hope the helps! Decent list but you screwed up on Adebisi ... http://www.hbo.com/oz/cast-and-crew/simon-adebisi/index.html
  15. I think the ratings will improve, once the plotline is less of a mystery. The ratings are actually pretty decent, so far....for a show on AMC. The critical response has been largely favorable, as well. Even if I am completely wrong, if you look at the ratings on other AMC shows...like Turn....they are about half of Preacher's ratings, yet Turn ran for several seasons. Far as the show deviating from the source material, the budget of a cable TV show prevented the show from echoing the road trip that the book basically was....among other reasons. Personally, I am not blown away by the show so far. Breaking Bad blew me away, it was a well done, emotionally powerful show. Even if Preacher has yet to really draw me in, I love the book itself so much that I can't get enough of the show
  16. Whatever happened with this? How many Benjamins were you on the hook for? I never subbed any of them. Still have all 4 books.Eventually, I'll press them and sub them. In retrospect, I do admit that was a pretty foolhardy thing to say , that's to say the least. not surprising though I remember the point that I was trying to make (that I trailed off of and failed miserably at making ) was that it is not impossible to find 9.9's copper books in the wild. Of course, the DSSS#1's did have light impressions from writing $1.00 on the price stickers, so they likely wouldn't even hit 9.8's, without a spot press. But daasamn, they were cherry copies. No spine tics...razor sharp corners...not a hint of fuzziness along the edges or light discoloration ( like you see in 90+% of the copies of this book)....not even any bindery tears Gawdemmit, I will press n sub these books in the (somewhat) near future....may end up eating a lot of crow after the fact but I do honestly think a ( bracing myself for yet more taunts) a 9.9 is possible. Course I'll probably get nothing but 9.8's. P.S. Loving that Seinfeld clip.
  17. I was in PA earlier today and stopped by the Books A Million in Springfield. Saw no newsstands, nor virtually any direct market Rebirth books, either. Either that shop is hit by some hardcore pickers, or their orders are very low.Probably a combination of the two. Judging by their back issue boxes....the complete lack of titles like Harley, SS, Deadpool etc with picked over runs of Detective (literally no Jock covers, early Damian app's....anything that was worth buying was missing) I would say it's nothing but commons.

  19. Sheldon? No, I got the sarcasm.Just wanted to make it clear that Preacher's aren't being discounted, if there was any question.
  20. Ah, come on.... I've been pressing books since 1AM for Wizard Philly subs today, I'm bound to make an occasional spelling error on 2 hours of sleep....hah.
  21. Just snapped one for you, aaaand Seanfingh, of course .... So that really was you in that avatar pic you finally took down (thanks) You look like you have gained some weight since then Haha... not sure what to say to the first comment.Figured if Hector was going to coach me to win the boardie of the year award, I should take his input and lose the old profile pic The "ima gonna need about tree fiddy Lochness Monster seems to fit aptly, in its' place. :: But yeah, I did gain about 25 pounds, in the past year. Quitting weight training and running was the secret to my success.I can train you too, free of charge...no problem, brah.Send me a PM for tips on going from having a 6 pack, to drinking a 6 pack blah blah blah. Used to do a lot of Olympic liftting....well before all of the Crossfit d-bags made it trendy....heavy deadlifts once a week along with steady state and HITT cardio 3-4 days a week. Dropped all of that in favor of selling comics in my spare time while simultaneously cutting out "clean" eating. Not the wisest lifestyle choice no doubt, I went from looking man-tastic tooo...cough cough, having the physique of the typical comic book dealer/convention attendee. Nothing that a couple cycles of oxandrolone + testosterone propionate won't fix, though. ......... Jokes aside.....(and before somebody hits the notify a mod button, let me reinterate that the last statement was meant faceciously)....it is amazing just how easy ot is to get out of shape.
  22. Looks pretty good to me, based off the trailer.
  23. Got your back on this, homes. I still have that pack of SRS sheets you gave me at Carbo's show.... I'll snap a ( non- erotic) pic and post it up later tonight.
