  1. You really need to pay attention to what is said, CAK, and not what you think is said. I said "My God, if only it were as easy as just "knowing how to talk to people"! I'd spend 5 minutes on the phone sweet-talking some nice Filipino CS rep, and that would be that."...in other words, if it was JUST about "knowing how to talk to people", it would take ME 5 minutes and that would be that. No one said YOU said it would only take "a 5 minute phone call." Reading is fundamental. The issue here is that "knowing how to talk to people", while certainly an important part of conflict resolution, isn't relevant when dealing with eBay's feedback department. You're dealing with people who 1. have no interest whatsoever in helping you...none...and 2. do not HAVE to help you. Their sole and only goal is to make you hang up. That's it. They are there to be brick walls, to shield eBay from actually having to deal with whatever problem you might have, or, in eBay's opinion, what you might think you have. I think it's pretty clear that you're not aware of how eBay and Paypal have operated, and what governs their corporate mentality. Are you aware that eBay has been taken to federal court and SUED...successfully, I might add...because they effectively shielded themselves from customer service complaints for years? For years, you could not even contact eBay directly...there was no way to talk to a live human being until around 2004. Did you know that...? You could only e-mail them, and then they chose whether or not they would respond...and most of the time, they ignored you. Why do you think all the changes that favor buyers came into being? eBay's savvy business sense? Their good will? No. It came about because eBay was forced to make these changes because buyers were tired of being defrauded through eBay, and took their cases to court. I don't need to assume you have less. What you say, and the way you say it, demonstrates that. No assumption needed. That is the common claim of those who don't like being called out. "You don't know me!" On the contrary...anyone can learn quite a bit about you, simply by reading what you post. Do you think that's a skill people don't have, or can't develop? My words are me, they express what I think, and perhaps more importantly, how I think. They paint a pretty clear picture of who I am as a person, as does everyone's...even those pretending to be something they are not. The same goes for everybody. I don't need to "assume" anything about you....the body of your posts says a tremendous amount about you. That you think it doesn't, by the way, is another indicator of your lack of general experience. Your words say things you aren't even aware they say. Your posts make my hair hurt. You have an unrealistic view of life, CAK, and on top of that, you don't comprehend what people are saying...yet speak all the same. That's a problem, and a very big one. Suffice it to say: no one said anything about "resigning" to anything, and no one said anything about not being able to "reason" with people. You fundamentally don't understand the issue, and I've explained it already many times. You think you have it all figured out, and it's obviously just a matter of "gosh, if that RMA would just stop being so negative and just TRY, it would be resolved in a jiff!" ...but you use subterfuge to get what you want, which is cheating. Anyone can cheat their way through life...like asking how to remove a sale from GPA because you didn't like the price it got, and you refused to sell it to the high bidder...who then left you a deserved feedback which you then managed to convince someone, contrary to their own policy, to remove. You cheat, CAK, and you presume to give advice about "reasoning" with people...? You advise people to be stoned and drunk before talking to customer service, and you presume to give advice about "not giving up"...? You and Kav...you are two of a kind. "Just use a Jedi mind trick on them, and that will work!" I forgot to pay my Jedi Academy dues, and some dude named "Annie" was causing trouble down at the temple, last I heard.... You are dead wrong. I will say that I think you're an intelligent guy, as far as comics are concerned and I respect your opinions on the comivs mstket but other than that...... You win at the internet. I'm done. FTR, I was not the one who reported your posts.
  2. You folks are wrong, CAK, because you simply do not understand eBay or how it operates, but you imagine your limited encounters with them has given you some insight. Long, bitter experience with this company over two decades says otherwise. Do you think I haven't tried every tactic in the book with this corrupt-to-the-core company? Do you think I haven't asked, begged, charmed, persuaded, conspired, cajoled, threatened, yelled at, argued with, pleaded with, cried to, and done everything else under the sun to convince people in a country 8,000 miles away to do what is right? I have, all of that, and more. My God, if only it were as easy as just "knowing how to talk to people"! I'd spend 5 minutes on the phone sweet-talking some nice Filipino CS rep, and that would be that. Problem solved! But by all means, believe what you wish and I hope, for your sake, you never run into the corporate facelessness that is eBay with a real problem. Further discussion is fruitless. As for the rest of your advice....I truly don't know whether to or ....or both. It's impossible to take you seriously, CAK. Truly. Did I say it would only take a 5 minute phone call to resolve your negative feedback? Nope, not even close. As far as your vast amount of experience and assuming I have much less.Wrong again. Just like it is wrong to say the likes of: " It is impossible to take uou seriously. CAK." You know nothing about me, other than what you assume, via this forum. Keep on shaking your head as long as you want. That is why you will not get that negative feedback removed. You resign yourself to that predictiment, by once again *assuming* that you cannot reason with people....or in your words, "the faceless corporation that is eBay".
  3. Oh, and by the way...this little gem, here, was immortalized in another thread. You DESERVED that negative, because you cancelled a legitimate sale because (as you stated) the price was too low AND you then created a thread asking how to get GPA to remove it from its record. If you got that negative removed, you did it with subterfuge, or found somebody who didn't know what they were doing and got lucky. Which, by the way, is an example of the corruption and ineptitude of eBay, as I have said. "Lying" and/or "hoping to get someone who doesn't know what they are doing" is not valid advice. Yeah, I pretty much expected you would feel compelled to say something like I deserved that negative feedback.Still, I posted up my anecdote, trying to help you out, being pretty sure that you would take a stab at me, regardless. Cheers for coming through on that assumption of mine, in return ...and cough, cough...I did in fact refund the buyer and SHIPPED/GAVE* that 9.8 newsstand CGC slab to another boardie, instead of TAKING MONEY for the book and shipping it off to to the overseas eBay buyer. *Who in turn made an honorable donation of $550 to charity, which s a board agreement...it was not reflected in GPA. I also must have been a liar/cheatful/otherwise not on the level somehow to auction off a CGC 9.6 newsstand copy....which ended at $110, with 100% of proceeds of that sale going to charity. That $110 winning bid on the CGC 9.6 newsstand was $15 short of the previous sale at $125 (within a few days prior, IIRC) sale of the same book in CGC 9.6, shown in GPA.
  4. Let me try this one more time: Feedback is handled by the Feedback department. That department is the ONLY department that you can speak to that will handle feedback. Nobody else at eBay is allowed to deal with feedback. You can try to talk to the buying department (which is in the Philippines), or the seller limits department (which is in the US), or the billing department (which is half and half), or any other department you want....but none of them, American or not, are going to be able to do anything about removing feedback, because that's not how eBay works. You can explain all you want...and they'll listen...but then they'll transfer you right back to the Feedback department. And the eBay feedback department is under orders to deny every request, period. Unless it is a clearcut violation of their rules...profanity, threats, "negative" comment left for a buyer...it's not going to be removed unless you get a stupid rep (not difficult) who can be bamboozled into thinking a situation is not what it is. My advice to you: stop trying to give advice about things you clearly don't know. It is all about how you talk to people, as Kav and Darjis_Aaron, have said. I am not messing around with you, I am trying to help you out.You reply with the bit of "advice" in the bolded section.NO offense taken on my end, I can see that you are frustrated but I gotta tell you that this is why you haven't been able to get the negative feedback removed. I know what I am talking about, all too well. I got a neg as a seller,a couple months back, under similiar circumstances.Buyer paid after auction, I refunded his payment immediately and cancelled the transaction.Buyer negged me. I also got a neutral feedback removed, for a slab that was shipped late. I spent about an hour on the phone with eBay reps and in both instances, I was transfered around a couple of times. In both instances, after getting someone on the phone who wasn't blathering on mindlessly with an eBay teleprompter style -script, I got the rep to remove the feedback. Around the same time that I got the Nuetral feedback removed, I had a buyer neg me for another late shipment. I emailed the buyer, apologized for the delay, and told him I would send him his $10.99 (full BIN refund, shipping was free) back via Paypal...and that the books were enroute to him, free of charge. He revised his feedback into a * positive* shortly after receiving the 4 comics from me, saying something like" had a delay but the seller went above & beyond to resolve problem". As a buyer, about 6 months ago, I rolled the dice on...ummm, about $300-$350...2 BIN's for multple copies (5 copies, shipped from ....the Phillipines) of ....cough, cough...New Mutants #98 advertised as "NM/MT" from two differnt 0 feedback sellers, both of which had very recently registered.I knew there was a pretty damn good chance that it was a scam but figured I'd give it a shot, the seller could have just been clueless.Either way, I knew that the seller would have zero access to my funds, well after the books were delivered to me. Waited a week and no tracking was uploaded so, I called ebay CS...and after speaking to their outsourced talent, who told me I'd get my money back ...it was obvious he was reading off a -script...I saw the next day I only got refunded for about 1/3 of what the BIN + shipping amounts totaled Called eBay back, and got a CS rep who wasn't a outsourced tool, and the rep got the money back into my Paypal account. My advice to you would be, on your way home from work tomorrow, stop at a liqour store.Pick up a pack of smokes and a 6 pack of beer.I recommend Guinness Draught. Pound a Guinness before you call eBay, that will brighten your mood. You may forego the ciggies, if you choose. You may also forego the frothy goodness that is akin to the nectar of the Gods, if you choose to do so. You will have to stone yourself to whittle away an hour of your life, while keeping a pleasant disposition. That is more or less what you have to do, if you want to get the negative removed. Guinness & a friendly disposition can solve virtually any problem. Unless you're dealing with pederasts or Nazi war criminals....or any other form of life that has no business on this planet. In your case, you are not dealing with those types. You're pretty much golden. No worries, pop the cap off another Guinness. You're just dealing with your own frustration and a negative feedback on eBay.I have dealt with those two things, as well. It's no bag 'o fun, which we both know. Take the right approach and you'll get the neg removed. As someone who worked in both customer service and technical support via phone for many years, I can tell you first hand that both myself and colleagues will ALL go above and beyond for wounded bird and will absolutely do the bare minimum to assist a jerk who comes at us all angry and demanding. And I'm in Canada - we apologize for everything!
  5. I don't lmow about the tiers of eBay CS, nor was I saying it would be particularly easy to get the neg removed.Call it an hour and change....a taxing, loudy way to spend your time, ......but if I can do it, you can. Like Kav said, playing the wounded bird bit gets CS on your side, over the phone. If you get a sympathetic ear, you're in the clear. You won't get a sympathetic ear if you talk to someone in a third world country who is lucky to have any sort of job, so they wont give a seconds pause to consider your side because said outsourced talent is fearful of getting canned. Could be a white or black guy.....or an Asian...or a Phillipino college aged kid........a middle aged white or black woman....it does not matter. As long as they are an American, and you are patient and friendly....they will almost certaimly take the neg off.
  6. Yeah, but I would still say that if you called again....and got some of ebay's outsourced talent, ask to speak to a manager. Whenever I have talked to an ebay CS rep with the charming Indian or Phillipino accent...and then got transferd to an ebay CS rep without any language barrier......the problem was resolved, to my satisafaction. (other than spending an hour on the phone with ebay). I have had a negative removed and had a neutral removed. You have to speak with a gawddamn American, pardner That is not racism, on my part, at all.eBay's outsourced CS are clueless, least it has been so in my experience.
  7. The seller is in WA, so probably not a tax issue... But here's what he won: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=121918266922&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565 Wolverine #1 9.6....now, it ended for $65, which is pretty low...but the seller doesn't seem to mind...there are several books like that, but no other "problems." I think "nostalgiawon" is just a cheapskate who doesn't have a problem with fraud to save a few bucks. That shows that "Nostalgiawon" has violated the terms of the eBay User Agreement before i.e. pattern of abuse...........even more reason for eBay to side in your favor, without much of a hassle, at all.
  8. I'm pretty sure they will NOT remove it, not without a multi-hour, knock-down, drag-out fight. Frankly, I don't have the time for that. The highest bidder tried to defraud both eBay and the state of California. You have time stamped emails & messages, that clearly indicate his intent to beat eBay out of their 10% commision....., and to beat your state out of its sales tax, as well. I am 100% sure they will remove that neg. It will take you up to an hour on the phone, at worst. As it stands, you now have a negative feedback and it is unclear if you have gotten your 10% vig back from eBay. I'd ask eBay to repeal the neg through ebay.com, before calling them and also... forward the time stamped messages & emails, along with your appeal. Well worth the investment in your time, and also, in the process, eBay may possibly suspend his account....so he gets what he deserves.
  9. It sounds more like Warner is responding to audience feedback, rather than just sticking to a plan without a care about the viewer. I am happy to hear that WB is responding to the feedback, what has me worried is the writers/ producers didn't have the foresight to include it in the first place. This has me more worried for the simple fact that they are attempting to dumb down the movie. My worry is they go to far and we end up with cra p like AoU or Ant-Man. It is funny that audiences and critics were fine with the dark Nolan Batman trilogy but are taking the opposite approach with BvS and this movie. The diffetence between the Nolan trilogy is that Nolan is a very good director, and invariably makes solid movies. "Dark" mivies can be critical & commercial succeses, if the director knows WTF he's doing. Nolan has not made a single movie, which was anything but highly reviewed by critics. Look at Memento, Nolan's brealthrough movie.Modern classic, and a dark movie. OTOH, Snyder is a borderline hack..300 was a good movie , Watchmen ...not so much. I still haven't seen DOJ yet, but I am expecting it to be decent.Given that Snyder is the director, I am not expecting to see the sort of emotional depth that Nolan is capable of bringing onto the screen. Affleck should have directed DOJ....IMHO.
  10. Tough Decision...This is my son holding his Grayson #1 1:100 Variant 9.8. My son's name is Grayson...What to do R_H Sell it via BIN, cash in for as much as you can. I think your son would appreciate the money being put into a mutual fund, let it grow interest....when he's of college age....much more than he'd appreciate a slabbed comic book....that will probably be worth what it cost to have it graded, 18 years from now. Buy the regular cover, cherrypick a 9.8 for $5 (or less), and have that book slabbed for your son.
  11. That's an interesting way to describe it. But I think it is being done purposely to convey how overly self-confident Lucifer is in his actions. I watched Episode 4 last night, and liked it. Agreed on the bit about Lucifer mannerisms being overacted and Bosco's follow up, as well.....I'd like to see the character portayed with more of a dark edge. But it is basic TV, after all and as such, it needs to fairly mass market friendly Prreacher looks to be the distinctly darker of the 2 Vertigo shows, with similiar conepts that play on morality/religion. Overall I am definitely a fan of FOX's Lucifer and its' ratings are fairly solid.Looks like it will be renewed. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2016/03/01/tv-ratings-monday-feb-29-2016/ Since he's falling for ladycop I predict his terrifying dark side will emerge when someone hurts, tries to kill or better yet actually kills her. Medieval Lucifer Nah, the other way around. Gotta say that this show has really grown on me and I hope it gets a second season. .....btw, I saw that Hulu just bought the rights to stream season one, not sure what that means for a second season happening though.
  12. I wonder if anyone's put together a complete Canadian set yet? I would, but I'm too far from he source material, and everyone else wants silly prices. Define "complete Canadian set" for me in this context please. Because I'm very close to a complete set of Marvel "Canadians". All raw. I may send off the 95 centers to get graded at some point, as some of them are legitimately hard to find. I keep telling Mrs. Donut that there may be a road trip to the Great White North in her future to hit small comic stores in Ontario. I am pretty sure "complete Canbadian set" was in regards to Legends #1-6. If you have them, please sub/fast track 'em
  13. I thought it was a great movie! Fanboys... What do they know...? The fanboys I've talked to in person (a handful of dudes at a comic shop), all loved it.A lot of the boardies on here, who have seen the movie, are posting that it was very good/great. Rotten Tomatoes reviews mean eff all...... R.T. is a compilation of less than 200 movie critics...FTR, Transformers got similair reviews on Rotten Tomatoes but was a box office winner.
  14. Supposed to be a 1st appearance or so i am told...care to enlighten a non lantern fan on what going on with this one? It is the first appearance of Jessica Cruz, technically. Shown below is her hand. That is the entirety of her appearance in GL 20. Her next appearance is in Justice League #30. This is the entirety of that appearance, save for some dialogue on a previous page in which she isn't shown: This is her next appearance in Justice League #31, including her first cover appearance, her origin, her transformation and her reveal: So before people start blindly chasing GL 20, use the info above to make your own decision. [/quote?] So CGC gets it right. Anything that needs to change? Green Lantern 20 - 1st App. of Jessica Cruz (cameo) Justice League 30 - 1st Full App. of Jessica Cruz Justice League 31 - Origin & 1st App.of Jessica Cruz as Green Lantern. Thanks Darkstar. Great work. Actually, there may be more to GL 20 than Darkstar said earlier.Dunno what that would be exactly, as I have not read any of these 3 books. But before anyone asks CGC for label notations on these 3 books, they should read all 3 books....Here's the post by Darkstar I'm referring to: Except those of us that read Green Lantern 20, which tells you exactly what is going to happen regarding the green lanterns. Just because someone doesn't mention these things doesn't mean they don't know what is going on.
  15. Seanfingh, here ya go.... According to a source in variety, DOJ needs to haul in $800 million to turn a profit,. But that is not wholly the story. The link below has a recap on the variety $800 with a link to the $800M Variety take on profit, in the third paragraph or so. http://screenrant.com/batman-v-superman-worldwide-box-office-discussion/
  16. This book already DID experience a lull in FMV....check GPA. Here's a 'lil anecdote.... I never had a copy but at different times, I pressed 2 copies of this book for another boardie, both copies came back as CGC 9.6's. Around 3/2015, said boardie got something like $2000 for his first CGC 9.6 via eBay BIN. He got another copy,a Voldemort slabbed 9.2 (or 9.4, I can't remember) he snagged off of ebay, which I CPR'd for him at Wizard Philly. He had trouble selling the book the second time around, despite it getting a 9.6 from CGC after the CPR. (shortly after last year's Wizard Philly).....I think he got $1500 (or maybe less, I dunno) via ebay. Can't remember if he suctioned it or took a best offer, think it was the latter. As of ther past few months, it's picking up steam again. To say that the book won't "ever" drop in value...it's not an Action 1 or AF 15. I don't think it is somehow either undervalued or overvalued, the market invariably corrects itself. To suggest anything further, along the lines of it will either drop in price or it'll hit 5K in CGC 9.8 by next March is mental masturbation. All that said, I'd love to get my hands on a raw copy of this book and then slab it.....aaaaand if this board had an emoticon for a premature ejaculation smiley, I'd place it right after that last sentence I typed....because this book oozes cash money You managed to use the phrases "mental masturbation" "premature "ejaculation" and "oozes" in a comic book post. Very descriptive but effectively got your point across. Thanks, it's nice to be appreciated This is the sort of book that I would love to find on the cheap, out of dealer overstock/bulk at a show, that was pretty much what I was referencing by the "premature ejaculation" bit Hell, I'd give up anywhere from $1000-$2000K in trade for this book....at FMV prices on my CGC slabs, raw SA/BA run & key books.I have less than 25 low to mid grade pre-code horror and GA books that I'd let someone pick from. But, I digress....to get back on track with more more mental masturbation, I'll add the following. It is possible after all to find a copy of this book at a show for next to nothing., I've found 1 copy each of Man Of Steel 4th and 5th prints in $1 boxes at a small local show about a year ago, for example.A boardie posted in the SA DC war thread that he recently found a lower grade copy of Our Army At War 83 for $10 at a con...cover intact and all;) A dealer buddy of mine, who was set up at Wizard Philly last year, found a Hulk 377 3rd print in a $1 box I found a Wonder Woman 105 at Baltimore on the SECOND DAY of the show, for $2 or $3.Albeit, it was coverless. But still....a WW 105 for two lousy dollars??? It was in one of the dealer's boxes on the floor, which were NEARLY ALL ALPHANUMERICAL...and there was even a comic divider with "Wonder Woman" written on it.All of the floor books were price pointed at $2 across the board...maybe they all priced at $3 each, I can't remember. I guess a price point of two bucks a book wasn't cheap enough for most Baltimore attendees to crack their kneejoints ..............I should have gotten that guy's business card, duh ...ah, to live the dream of finding an ASM 678 variant at a show, for next to nothing...will probably never happen but ya never know.
  17. This book already DID experience a lull in FMV....check GPA. Here's a 'lil anecdote.... 18. haha it only took 20 years 20+ years and 1 movie....... Something Tim Burton couldn't even do. Sups 75 black bagged raw is selling for about $10-$20, shipped. pretty much the same price as it has been selling at for ...I dunno, the past few years. The only reason a "lot" of copies have sold recently is because Doomsday is in DOJ. After the movie buzz wears off, it will simply slow down and continue to sell at $10-$20....but if you're sitting on a lot of copies, now would be the time to sell them, enmasse.
  19. Direct 9.8s have sold for $300 and $276 in the last couple of months as well. The day before the crappy $207 sale, one sold for $269, so not quite $100, but yes, a premium. With that said, this particular issue also does not look like it had much of a newsstand release based on the very few newsstand copies for sale. Maybe as a DC #1 for an obscure title it was mostly going to go to shops. Maybe it should be selling for 2X as much as Directs and you got hosed! I'm well aware of all of the sales on this book, hah....believe me.I only wish I had my skabbed copies in hand last summer.I'd have raked in a couple grand, easy...between the 9.6's and 9.8's I had. I did actually sell it on the low end if what I think it's worth. If I had put it up in a CC/Heritage auction, I am sure I would have gotten more. Definitely not double, though. I do have 1 more 9.8 cgc newsstand.I'll be subbing that book to ComicConnect for auction, I've learned my lesson;)
  20. Interesting. I wonder how much higher a Canadian newsstand edition would have gone for? I was planning on holding my 9.8 Legends #3 Canadian newsstand copy until closer to the movie, but this price makes me wonder if it is not better to sell now. Canadian variants go for good money, you should list thst book asap.....check GPA;) Legends 3 has dropped a lot, since last year.Sold my last cgc 9.8 direct for about $190 BIN.....can't even get $125 BIN for the 9.8 I have listed now.
  21. I think it is logical to think they're going to be harder to find in 9.8 and maybe 9.6, that's about it. Agreed...definitely a little more of a challenge to find them in ultra high grade, but anything other than that, no. Unless it's high-grade ASM #300 Newsstand CGC. Then the guy who keeps talking about them (me) is trying to BUY something (those, for the same price as directs). Bingo. A boardie, Newworld order, recently listed 10 or 12 copies of New Mutants 98 on this forum, all CGC 9.8's. All but one of the copies were direct editions, the newsstand cgc 9.8, was the first to sell. Can't remember if it sold higher than the other copies he listed, but I think it may have. To RMA's point....pre 1995 newsstands...like this Suicide Squad, were printed in just about 50/50 ratios as their direct counterparts. These books are certainly tougher to find in 9.6 and 9.8. A simple search on eBay under any copper age issue + CGC 9.8 in the search string, take for example a book with a relatively high print run like Legends # 3. We all know that the Legends mini series was a successful mini series for DC back in the mid 1980's....and for every 20 CGC 9.8's listed for sale or as sold, you might find one newsstand CGC 9.8, in the search results. And the newsstand CGC 9.8's will pretty much invariably sell at a premium over CGC 9.8 direct editions. The print runs of newsstands and direct editions were just about 50/50.....to say newsstands from this era were short printed would be a bold faced lie. To say that newsstand CGC 9.6/9.8's are NOT nearly as available/obtainable as CGC 9.6/9.8 direct editions, is plain as day.
  22. For those that doubt the allure of Copper Age newsstands (even with their supposed 50/50 print ratio to direct copies) in CGC 9.8 holders, I present you with the following: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201533218526?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649 Just sold, and the buyer has paid. Almost $100 over the last sale of a CGC 9.8 direct edition copy. The downside is that this newsstand CGC 9.8 sold for about $125 LESS than the last newsstand CGC 9.8 copy sold for, last month. That copy went off at $359 (plus 19.5% buyer's premium + tax) so call it $429 + tax and shipping/insurance. However, that last copy was sold through Heritage *and* the wrap was just about perfect, with no white showing.
