Great book and so hard to find. Being a premium and pinback collector, I was amazed to find that there is a “Phantom Creeps” club pin offered in this issue. Never seen one but I’d be all over it if I were lucky enough to find one for sale. If you could post that page, I’d love to see what it looks like...

Thanks to a cool boardie, this beauty landed in my mailbox today. My favorite cover in the run and one you don’t see often. Composition and colors are amazing. Might even be in my L. B. Cole top ten. A lot of folks probably don’t realize that he did a lot of nature work for magazines like Field and Stream. Do yourself a favor and google it. Really beautiful stuff.

I would PM MrBedrock. He would probably buy it from you as he obviously doesn't have it and after all, it is #1

Is it in Belgium?
Looks like the London Comic Con venue.

If you found the pieces elsewhere would they be considered "married"?
In my experience probably not. They aren’t always cut exactly the same. VERY rare puzzle as well. Not likely annother set would turn up with the pieces he needs. Great piece nonetheless!

All purchased from a dealer at a local con. I spent more than I thought I would but found some books I had never seen in-person before.
Buy ‘em when you see them. You got some good ones there!

And now some more of my favorite Superman golden age covers. Notice how Superman and Batman had similar stories during this period. For example, the bride of Superman and the bride of Batman. The snow covers of Detective 119 and Action 116 were similar. I also have the Batman Indian Chief and Superman Indian Chief, but did not include scans of those covers.
p.s. The Superman workbook (which replicates the Superman 14) is shown; also the Edgar Church copy of Action 71 is shown.
Awesome books! What is the Superman workbook? Never heard of it. Same on both sides of covers?

Yeah, Bok was somehow able to channel that Maxfield Parrish palette whenever he wanted. I mean, just look at those colors!
Yeah, Parrish is a great comparison!
