Can anyone tell me how long a PayPal charge back takes to get back into your account? I filed last Friday and still haven't received mine.

I thought I stopped being a run chaser over 10 years ago, but when it came to Planet Comics I started by just acquiring the covers I really liked. Then when I realized I had almost 60 of them I decided I might as well go for the rest LOL
I usually only run chase on smaller runs. Books that I like or fit my tastes. I have always liked Planets. I pick them up when I don’t have one that is priced right (which happens less and less these days). I now have 45 of them starting at #3. I doubt I will ever finish them off but still fun to try...

GI Jane
I can't remember if I posted about this already -- but about a month ago a bunch of GI Janes were offered on eBay. There were a couple of higher grade copies (VG+ / FN-) that I didn't win, but otherwise I won the issues I was bidding on. They weren't cheap, but considering the prices I've seen over the last 18 months at cons, I think I got them for market (or maybe a little better than market). Here are the ones I got:
Nice haul Mike! Especially the #5. Usually goes to the moon. I had to get mine the old fashion way, one at a time...

How about with the best selection of comics from 1934-1956 plus...let's say books until 1963...later ones are cool too...but funnies to wartime to atomic age to early postcode to prehero and the advent of the silver age heroes...
I would give a big nod to Terry O'Neil's show at the end of January. Only one day but that room is PACKED with just about every kind of GA comic available. Dealers run from small time collectors like me to the big national ones. Have seen a few great collections pop up there. And the weather for January, just can't be beat.

OAF is simply a lot of fun. Sales won't ever compare with New York or San Diego or Chicago, but neither will the overhead. I could have been stressing about the drive to New York, the cost of hotels, the extreme hassle of load-in at Javitts, the ridiculous prices to park a van for the weekend, the trouble of finding a place to eat after the show, the physical exertion it takes simply to fight through the aisles to go to the bathroom, etc. etc. etc....
...or I could go to OAF, hang out with good friends, sell some stuff, eat at Benvenuti's with Steve Borock, Cat and Roxanne, Bud Plant, Tom Coker and Mrs. Bedrock, Pack up on Sunday and be home in my own bed Sunday night.
We actually had a very good show this year. Sales were brisk all weekend and some trades and purchases were made. I picked up some great inventory for the shop and site and managed to pick up a couple of things for the collection...
What a cool and diverse group of great books! Some fun picking it looks like.

Nice! Such a great set. My mom threw out all my toys and comics but when my parents moved, they found my Batman and Munsters lunch boxes in the basement. Since I had made such a stink about the other stuff, they put them aside for me. Imagine my surprise when I opened them and found my original set of about 35 of these as well as Civil War News and a couple other partial similar sets I accumulated as a kid. I really should complete them one of these days.

Great stuff. Maybe it's me, but relative to how many quality GA-carrying dealers were at NYCC, I really thought the precode horror selection was quite lean compared to past years. I was happy to find (and afford) anything at all.
PCH is ON FIRE! Almost any title and grade horror book flies out of my boxes when I do a show. Easily, the most requested genre. I just can't replace them fast enough. And as such, I don't have to discount them much if at all.

I often find at cons that some of my favorite purchases come from thumbing the boxes. A lot of folks are too lazy to dig, prefering to wander the isles looking at pretty wall books instead. Often, great books get over looked in the boxes. My interests are pretty varied. As long as they are GA books I will look through most of the boxes. You never know what you will find.

Seriously, I'd urged Bart to relocate for years. He probably got special rates to keep coming back, but it finally reached a point where my wife & I quit attending. I guess Bart finally saw the writing on the wall ...probably gang graffiti... and decided to change venues.
When the Embassy Suites opened just south of OKC near Norman, Okla. it must've been a godsend. Bart could not have selected a better location, IMO. When he contacted me about the decision to move we were on board again.
Honestly, I think this location is a big part of OAF's resurgence. Where a number of larger cons are downsizing or deciding whether they can afford to continue, the OAF-con has grown. I expect next year's OAF gathering will be even bigger and better.
Looks like it was a great show. I believe shows like this are only the beginning of "going back to basics" for comic cons. Shows like this as well as the one day Berkley show and Terry's fantastic show are what has been missing to true comic book collectors. Good to see them popping up everywhere.

Can I ask... who is this guy? I kept running into him at Baltimore and it seemed like every dealer knew him, but I had no idea who he was. He seemed like either a former dealer, or a dealer who didnt run a booth at cons but made the rounds to all the big cons (and apparently the small ones too based on the pictures here!)
so who is he?
Mike Carbano (Carbo). Surprised he wasn't at NYCC instead.

Oh, BTW, I did mention a painting earlier, right?
Well, after negotiations with the former owner at the OAF-Con I'm now the proud new owner of another original George Rozen painting,
this Shadow pulp cover from June 1, 1942...
This goes well with my other Shadow painting, that one coincidentally for the June 15, 1942 cover!
Now THAT is a "pick-up"!!! Wow, Cat congrats!
Thanks for the report. Good to see Bud Plant there. One of the best guys out there to box dive through!

Great report Tony, Thanks for posting it. That Sensation #13 is I've been after that one for years. And that Fantastic... well the title of the book says it all. I can't recall ever seeing one for sale. Hey, even the "girly man" "love books" aren't too bad either. Looks like you had fun!
Fiction house anyone?

Nice action cover. Looks like Sheena is about to get a new outfit.
