I'm glad to see this thread on the main page WHERE IT BELONGS. In a late night fit of ambition to keep it there, I offer this humble raw offering from the "beat but complete" box:

Bad news: it's a little beat up, for sure. Good news: it's an early JIM and it has an Everett cover.  :cloud9:

Love it Pop. Great Everett cover that I wish I had. That is one of the few titles I am missing a lot of. I would be over joyed to find one in that shape.

Two newer books to my collection, not the highest grades but both River City copies. I like the Uncanny for the fact that Maneely drew he and his wife into the cover. That's him with the grey hat on.

Cool books Jayman. I found out about that Uncanny Tales a long time ago and snatched up one. Too bad Maneely died so young. Kinda wonder what he would have done a few years later in the Marvel Universe.

By the way, I wish you guys would stop apologizing for the condition of your books. These are nice shape. Even if they aren't, it's just great to see them at all. There are those of us who appreciate them the way they are instead of a stupid number in the upper left corner...

When one is collecting comics it always starts with a few sample issues then you find a dealer who has a lot of one title and then that pushes you a long to finish a run. With current prices though that's a lot harder to do back in the early 90's most pre-codes were only 20-30 dollars each. Below my TFTC run.

NICE!  At one time I had a complete EC run ALL of them including the pre-trend funny, war, crime, romance ect and even the Picto Fiction mags. When the reprints came out, I sold off most of them just keeping 3 or 4 per title that I loved to buy stuff that wasn't reprinted. I missed them so I started another collection, got about half, lost interest and sold them off again. Now I'm working on my keeper set. There is just something about ECs that I can't stay away from. I currently have a little over half of the Crypts and keep buying them when the right copies come my way.

Pre Pre-Code Covers like this one deserve their own Thread considering how popular the genre is now. There are a few noteworthy Super hero (Our Flag 5) and pre hero ones (Keen Detective #9) that fit the bill. I see the new OSPG notes this one as 'Classic Horror Bondage Killer Dwarf' cover. I couldn't agree more.

2018/19 OSPG $181 in 2.0  (9 copies on the Census)

Ahhh yeah! That would have certianly got my dime a lot faster than some dopey Superman or Archie comic back in the day. Besides, I collect Midget, horror bondage covers.  :roflmao:
