+1 on the Spectre. The GA one. Could you only imagine what the special effects would be like?

Oh, "Carrion Death" by Feldstein (the cover story) is in that issue. My uncle gave me some of his ECs when I was a kid. Scared the out of me in the last panel!

Man, I was really hoping I would not hear of this. Really strikes home to all of us collectors. Fires, floods and hurricanes are the enemies of the stuff we cherish so much. I just consider myself a caretaker for future generations. At the end of the day, it is just stuff.
Your two babies are what really matters. What a beautiful photo. Your family is what matters. Glad you are safe and well. You will make it through this. When you are settled, let us know what you collected. We will be more than happy to help you out!

+1 Lots of great Crime books. Many short runs of quality stuff and usually cheap. There are lots of cool teenage/GGA short runs that are VERY challenging to put together. Used to be cheap but gaining steam.

Mysterious Adventures #13
What a perfect book for Friday the 13th. This is the one that changed this title from a book about vampires, werewolves and simple grave robbing to something that was a lot more gory and grim. And what a cover. A huge burning skull. The best covers and the most gory stories start here.

Great "old school" collection. I'm pretty sure you will find a lot of gems in there.

Are those old Captain America sentinels of liberty pins towards the bottom right corner!?
No, they are probably the plastic ones given out at comic cons.

Nope. I got about 3/4ths of the ones I know about at the time. I found the most of the ones I still needed were ones I wouldn't have wanted any way if they weren't SOTI books.
At the time, I was working with a gentleman named Bob Nastasi and Redbeard to identify as many as we could and submitted to Bob Overstreet.
Just lost interest.

Thanks for the great report Mike. After reading it I kind of think it wouldn't be my kind of con. This and SDCC are young man's games. I hate the crowds, extra expense and inflated pricing. Most of this show would be wasted on me. Baltimore seems like the next one I need to travel to.

Got a similar grade copy with a few others at the flea market last weekend. I don't buy many Dell funny animals these days. But my favorites are the ones from around this time period 1947. Can't wait to read it.

Great stuff! I have to admit that I've never read an issue of Planet Comics.
Could be time to buy the reprint books.
That's hard to believe Tony. With a collection like yours, I'm surprised you have never picked one up. Cool books with great art as a rule. Stories are usually just OK but the covers and art rock. I wouldn't say I "collect" them but always pick up ones I don't have when the price is right. (Not that that happens very often anymore). I probably have half of them.
