  1. Correction: First kill in 1939 - throws some poor b@stard into a vat of acid. In his first appearance even. I can hear Ledger saying, “even to a guy like me thats cold.”
  2. Batman’s been killing since the 40’s like it was his job. And I believe he yells, “What have you done?” In the trailer.
  3. I agree, I’m just pointing out the articles (I’m up to 5 now) making that statement. Maybe because Eternals is not a 90% RT movie out of the gate?
  4. This should have been a slam dunk for me. Wonder Woman in the 80’s? Take my money. How do you F that up?
  5. Not the best reviews but should end up in the high 60’s on RT. Whats funny is Forbes and several other articles saying Marvel is trying to make a DC movie.
  6. This was a pleasant surprise. Simply amazing and beautiful film. Even the battle and deaths had beauty and intensity with scores that really elevate. I’m throughly impressed and have to say I regret seeing this on HBOMAX when anything less than IMAX should be a crime. One small note since I read a few complaints here, but I had no problem hearing any dialogue at all including whispers. I wonder if that’s attributed to the fact that I wore headphones. (I’m serious about my headphones and sound quality by the way). Reminds me of how I couldn’t understand Bane when I was in the theater but at home with my headphones, he was clear as a bell. Anyway, it was great to see a Ridleyesque Sci-Fi film and it was grand. Top three films of 2021 for me. Still have quite a few more to see, especially The French Dispatch and No Time to Die.
  7. I had high hopes for SPECTRE, especially after that great opening. But it let me down like Quantum. Casino and Skyfall have been my go-to for a Bond fix. Have not watched the latest yet.
  8. I kept passing on watching the first season of Doom Patrol when it hit since I had zero interest in it. Never even read the comics. Trailers looked kind of dumb to me as well. I finally sat down to watch for whatever reason and ended up on a nonstop binge. This is by far my favorite comic book tv show. Which says a lot coming from someone who is not a fan of most tv put out by Marvel and DC. I just enjoy their movies.
  9. I saw Lynch’s Dune in my twenties and didn’t care for it. Maybe I’ll revisit it before I watch the new one.
  10. Shame on Timmy because white kids should not be allowed to rap! But is the other video where he does the same thing with black kids dancing ok? Let us know so we can start the cancel party.
  11. NTTD passes up the Marvel pair and will take Godzilla down this weekend.
  12. It was tongue in cheek. I actually developed an interest in film budget vs what they haul in thanks to you all. I got real interested after Joker.
  13. Just streamed Halloween Kills from the Peacock app. You’ll need a PeacockPlus premium plan to watch it though. I paid $9.99 for 30 days and will cancel after checking out all the movies and shows I’m interested in. For any fans who grew up with those original Halloween movies, the new cannon for this current run is: John Carpenters Halloween 1978, Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills 2021 and then Halloween Ends 2022. I thought the 2018 direct sequel to the 78 was great even though very light on the kills. Which they made up for in spades with the appropriately named Halloween Kills. However, Kills was a dumb movie with surprisingly bad acting and dialogue from the older veteran actors while the newer younger generation of actors pulled off much better performances. A bad movie with a saving grace: the kills were exceptional. I can’t believe they got away with an R rating. They must have skirted that line between R and Unrated. I’m not sure if there was more brutality than Rob Zombie’s Halloween remakes but it was definitely up there. Absolutely worth watching for the kills alone if you’re a horror movie fanatic. I don’t usually note the soundtrack but they did an exceptional job of creating tension when Michael Myers was on scene with a revamped version of the classic themes. This will go down for me as a bad movie that will be fun to rewatch with friends.
  14. Meh.. on Black Adam and the trailer. Very interested in Hawkman though.
  15. I had big plans to see this movie in IMAX or at least a theater but work has sent me off again to where thats impossible. So I will be watching Dune on HBOMAX on a 13 inch screen. Trying to find an upside. Maybe if I shove my nose 3 inches away from the screen… Oh one upside is that I can lay in bed while watching it a mere few feet away from a bathroom.
  16. Oh wow, looks like No Time to Die will creep into second place for the year once its run is done. Even with that success it will probably only do a little better than breaking even. I usually have no interest in film budgets but you all have been ramming it down my throat! I understand its important in determining whether the film will get a sequel or not. But No Time to Die could cost the studio a hundred million and you know what, we still getting another Bond movie!
  17. Actually just the opposite. I was hating on Pattinson when first announced. Then I had mixed feelings from the first trailer. It was cool but I was still torn on Pattinson. After this full trailer, I’m completely sold on the movie and his portrayal. I don’t want a copy of Tim Burtons Batman or Nolans Batman or Snyder’s FM Dark Knight. All three of those versions worked for their time and were drastically different Batmen in tone. You could argue that Tim Burton was the only one that succeeded in making Gotham City the main character over Batman. And now this latest version may be giving us something that we have been missing in all those prior iterations. A true detective story. Which is funny since its something that has been lacking from a character considered the worlds greatest detective. And then you put him in a setting of what looks like a horror movie taking place on the set of Dark City. Oh yeah, I’m all in. I’m throwing money at this like Charlie Sheen at a strip club.
  18. Wow. I haven’t been that impressed with a trailer since the Man of Steel teaser.
  19. I saw this just from word of mouth. Didn’t even watch a trailer. And man it was a fun ride.
  20. Three hour long detective story. Full blown noir film. I was down before but all in now. This is exactly the change I wanted in contrast with the larger spectacles we got in the last two iterations from Nolan and Snyder. I want a damn detective story. I want Batman in Se7en. And I’m glad they don’t care about the run time. I don’t have a short attention span so bring it.
  21. She can’t be Wonder Woman in the future, we’ve all seen her nekkid too many times.
