  1. Just snagged this in the heritage sunday auction, so obviously it's not yet in hand. Still, never too soon to show off.
  2. After 8 years on the boards, I finally own a scanner that will fit a slab (as of last week). For $100, I picked up a refurbish HP 7410 AIl-In-One, and I'm pleased with it so far. I could no longer take the years of humiliation, mockery, and shame. Now I get to finally sell slabs on the board like a pro!
  3. I love the look on the face of the demon who's got his arm wrapped around Hitler's thigh. Now there's a sentence I didn't expect to write today!
  4. I've got a VG Great Comics #3 (Hitler in Hell cover), but I'd need to dig it up to do a scan.
  5. Sorry the pic is so bad...my new scanner just came in the mail today, but I've yet to set it up. Still, you get the general idea.
  6. I wouldn't worry about disclosure on the boards. One collector does not make a market. And, on the upside, if you're paranoia proves correct, you'll drive up the prices on the books you already own
  7. I can't argue against the insanity, but here's some other hammer prices on ASMs in 9.9 from this year: #239 3,501 (ComicLink) #275 1,351 (ComicLink) #298 1,532 (ComicLink) #300 6,101 (ComicLink) #312 825 (eBay) #319 1,226 (eBay) #323 1,136 (eBay) Well here is where the debate starts... I paid $60 for a copy of Amazing Spider-man 303 in a 9.8 earlier this year. Is a 9.9 of that copy really worth about $800-1000 more? If your book will lose the vast majority of its 'value' the second it's cracked out, then you've overpaid. Sage advice.
  8. Yeah, but there's no way of knowing whether or not people are buying with cash or with credit, or if they're buying and then having to dump a bunch of material to pay for it. That was sorta my plan---to ditch my ASMS if I could land the Cap1 at a sane price. I'm not sure that's necessarily the sign of an unhealthy market, though. People switch in and out of books all the time.
  9. The Cap just went over 17k. I fold.
  10. I'm very tempted to make a play for the Cap 1...trying to decide if I want to sell my ASM collection to replenish the coffers.
  11. Great seller, no complaints (far from it)---definitely one of the good ones!
  12. Great boardie, sold me two tough GA books at great prices, packed 'em great, shipped immediately. What the hell else do you want, people? (thumbs u
  13. Ah well...sweet book to end on, congrats on great sale!
  14. My wife says I have to spend "quality time with the family." How about some Harveys?
