  1. Wow, sweet copy! Looks like a very conservative FN+, at least...
  2. I love that cover! (and have been outbid it on it several times!). Thanks for the dedication!
  3. Just got this one in the mail. Looks like my scanner may officially be kaput, so I'm posting the ebay link...this one presents much better in person. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...N%3AIT&rd=1
  4. Sweet book, fuel! Must...not...collect...Timelys!
  5. Awesome book, Jay! Figures highly on my want list, though at the prices it goes for nowadays, I dunno when it will happen. Too many other books to nab first.
  6. Sweet. That's definitely one for the wall, no doubt!
  7. That is a great one! I believe there is a shelly moldoff re-creation of that book floating around on ebay somewhere...hold on... Yep, found it! http://cgi.ebay.com/Worlds-of-FEAR-3-She...1QQcmdZViewItem
  8. Yeah, I don't normally lurk there...but I will start lookin' about.
  9. Wow, I'm not much of a magazine guy so I've never seen that. Sweet!
  10. Wow, what a great set of books. I'm in awe. I've never been a Pep/Archie guy, but these books sure make me want to start. Must resist....new...collecting...interest!
  11. Kudos to 143 for the awesome Liberty Comics. No doubt, the sharpest looking GD+ in my collection!
  12. I've worked with the seller of that Horriffic #3 before...he's a decent guy, though his prices tend to run high. Seems to consistently get classic GA books, though. I bought a behthlehem raw Witches Tales from him, and paid a little too much, but it was a book I "had" to have (classic devil cover). Seller graded it a raw VF+, and it came back from CGC an 8.0. Not too shabby. I bet somebody will jump on the horrific, though it's too expensive for me to justify.
  13. Great 150 list, scrooge. Very interesting...didn't realize that there was a 13 year gap there in the modern era before any book was able to pull its own for so long....looks like the ongoing Robin series will be the next to make 150, provided it isn't cancelled this year.
  14. I've seen this and it's great. Definitely get the documentary-only version with the extras and such. It's got a cool panel with Bradbury and Feldstein getting interviewed by Jerry Weist.
  15. This is the first I've heard of these....sounds neat, i'm officially on the lookout! Nice to know there's always something new to learn in the world of GA.
  16. Really? Cool! If that's the case, then I'll post a back cover scan on the boards for all to see once the book arrives.
  17. The Heritage 9.0 copy actually went for less than I'd thought it would (a little shy of $300).....I may upgrade someday if opportunity arises, but for now I'll be content with a sharp 7.0 and the extra $170 in my pocket.
  18. I've been thinking for awhile now about putting together a 3-d comic book collection...not sure yet if I'll go through with it, but I'm definitely on the hunt for a nice copy of the 50's batman 3-d comic, which is like uber-tough. I remember I had a bunch of 3d comics in the early 80s as a kid, always thought they were fun. Plus I remember the good ole days when the local channels used to put a godzilla 3-d movie on the tube and you could go pick up a free pair of of those awful red/blue glasses a week before the show at the local quickie mart. It wasn't until I got back into comics in a big way several years back that I realized how far back the whole 3-d thing went, what with those Harvey 3-d comics from the 50s and all.
  19. Ok, so I've been stalking this book for a week and I just came out on top mere minutes ago. 3-d Batman, slabbed 7.0, the 60's printing. In my experience, this is one tough book...I never come across a copy that is both in nice shape and has the original glasses. I was hoping to slide by at under $100, but I figure I did alright, given that I got it for the raw 6.0 price. Any thoughts? You guys think OS is on or off target on this book? PS Heritage has a 9.0 copy in their sig auction, and it hasn't yet met reserve. I thought about passing on this one and giving a go on that one, but my spidey-sense detects that it will close for a high price once it's on the floor, and I'd rather put my heavy pennies in golden age books at this point. Curious to hear some opinions on this book, and the accuracy of the OS on this one (GPA is of no help here)...now I have to continue to seek out the 50's version of this sweet sucker. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-D-BATMAN-1966-CGC-...7QQcmdZViewItem
  20. I have a slabbed 9.0 of this book...I believe it cost me more to slab it than it did to buy the book, but it was such a pristine copy that I went ahead and slabbed it anyways. Definitely a personal favorite book....it's so damned cheap in guide these days, I just can't believe there are THAT many copies floating around, as I discussed in a different thread about the Harvey finds. But who knows.
  21. I thought that too. Like he's singing "I'm so ronery" or something. "Alrick Baldwin". "Yer breakin' my bars, Hans Brix!"
