When Image started it was basically pretty ('pretty' being very subjective) pictures, with bold colors on slick paper. Most of the comics themselves sucked though and people ate it UP!

So the idea that art is driving the way comics are produced is not a stretch at all to me.

I honestly think writers have more power now, bar a few exceptions like say Jim Lee.

I don't think that Gunn can go more than 1 minute without breaking the atmosphere with a joke. His 3rd Acts are all ridiculous. As much as I love GotG Vol. 1, the dance-off is pure cringe. There's literally no good reason that Ronan doesn't just destroy him and Xandar right there.

Yeah that does make me cringe. I'm imagining Mr Fantastic's bachelor party from Rise Of The Silver Surfer in place of that. It ain't pretty.

Oof. I would keep his mitts off of any other title. Same with Waititi. I can only handle so much comedy. At some points I want/need some stakes and gravity.

I really would like to see a serious MCU property. Even with how good Infinity War was, you had scenes like Banner tripping over a rock. At some point you have to self-reflect and recognize when enough is enough.

I was thinking more that he might just grasp the weirdness factor that needs to be present if they're doing their origin story, but I do feel FF allows for some comedy between Johnny and Ben, Ben and Reed, Johnny and Sue, and Sue and Reed, and Reed and everyone, when appropriate. Just no toilet paper grabbing, and not so much the first movie.

Could he grasp the vast Kirbyness of it all? The fact they're more explorers than anything else? I don't know. That's what got me wondering. I do want a more serious FF, that's for sure. I want a wondrous movie. Could Gunn get that, and tone down his humour some? I think so, thinking back to Guardians 1 and them coming upon Knowhere. That was the right scale.

  4. Ah yeah I vaguely recall that, but wrote it off immediately because it wasn't the incarnation I wanted. If you haven't read Gail's SS, you should. It's a hoot. Starts with Villains United, then a miniseries, then an ongoing series from there. Ignore the New 52 version.

King Shark was also a member of Gail's team, so there's an easy character crossover. Catman's a wonderful character, and someone like Pedro Pascal would have been perfect for the role. Ah so much fun you could have with casting...

  5. Make sure you've got really high-res pics of your books, front AND back, from before they were sent out. This is essential if someone has to compare copies at a later date. We need to be able to see the book's flaws, it's characteristics. Video them being sealed in the mailing box. Also take quick shots of often missing items that may be included, such as Marvel Value Stamps, showing they were sent out intact, for example.

  6. An oversized issue, which is late, with some variant covers. Woohoo. That's just a tad underwhelming. Why didn't they get something more, at least have a series of FF variants across all books this month. Look at Hellfire Gala, now look at 60 years since the creation of the freaking Marvel Universe and its First Family! Give us just 5% of that promo.

Are you satisfied with the situation? Did you even know the anniversary was here? What would you have liked to see done for it?

AAHAHAHAHA.  Man, that is just sad and wrong.

    • The teen said her father thinks cash should be his cause he 'bought the packet'

Exactly. Packet's value under his ownership? $0.

Under hers? $$$$$, maybe throw on another if that last bid was legit (I'm not funny looking chip collector).

Without her, he's got nothing. At least give her something.

But it's the Gold Coast, aka Australia's mini-Florida.

  8. I don't understand the timing here? He JUST had the sale, THEN decided now was the time to keep everything. I know seller's remorse happens, but your commitment to your customer supercedes all else. Otherwise IMO, you're not just a bad seller, you're a bad person, and I couldn't live like that. I want a clear conscience more than I want a comic book.

Brian, think about what you are doing here. Really think about it, please. Consider it, them reconsider it, then again some more. You don't want this kind of reputation following you. It'll always track you down somehow in life, and you don't want that. Go for clean living and do the right thing here.

I'm slowly downsizing. My plan is to leave little except money in the bank and a car or two. Maybe a couple of income producing properties. Frankly, most of my family is better off than I am. None of them need much of anything.

As to what I said before, hell, sometimes you don't have to wait till death. Any money can tear a family apart. Here's a fun example. Wouldn't you at least give your daughter $500 and congratulate her on her entrenpeurial nature, to teach her to hone that skill in the future? Whether she paid for that packet or not, without her there'd be no money for anyone.

I'm going thru this right now.  My Aunt died with no will, her brother took it upon himself to handle the estate that exceeded two million dollars. My Uncle has yet to sell any of the stocks in the estate, give anyone an accounting and has totally abandoned his fiduciary duties.  The house was loaded with antiques she had tens of thousands  of dollars of amazing jewelry, most bought in the 1960s when gold was $40 an ounce.  The last time I saw him I told him if the roles were reversed, my mother would never do this to his children, but he has no shame.

Sorry to hear it, Shad. But after seeing it so much in 'such close families' I've just come to the conclusion that at least one of your loved ones will not even wait till you're in the ground before they see how they can begin profiting off you, to the detriments off other loved ones, in all likelihood. It's not some sudden snap in character, it's a side they've kept hidden from you their whole life, this IS who they are. They value money over you.

Just my opinion, but I saw it so regularly, it was predictable, and no one listened to me in advance. 'We're different'. Turns out they weren't.
