Seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if over half the people on these forums just skip past all his posts without reading them.

It was a joke between friends, I wasn't seriously having a go at him. He's a top guy with a lot of intelligent stuff to say, mate (well, he has his moments ). I back him all the way.

Yes. The second one suits the style of the times I suppose, but I do like the original with its three hearts in the lettering <3<3<3

Exactly. One is timeless Just Married, while the other is Just Married in its 50's/60's period.

    Yup.

Mutant - born with a mutation that gives them a super-powered ability.

Mutate - born in the normal range but later encountered an agent which caused a mutation, gene alteration and a superpower, eg Hulk, FF, Spider-Man.

I put the set away so can't check, but I'm assuming it was something to do with Genosha, which still existed at the time, and had mutates. I think they were mutants messed with by the genegineer. Something like that.

    SMDH…

Please understand the context in which I was parading that idea. It was not a 'just for the hell of it' idea. It was for a scenario where we're looking at changes being made, whether you like it or not. And I don't think what I proprosed would or should be a big deal for us white folk. But that's my 2 cents.

You know there is a huge Lola Bunny (female) cosplay fanbase out there who embrace the character for her supposed sex appeal. Im of the mind they are the ones who made the character 'matter' all this time, giving her 'legs' since the original movie came out and put her at a place to stand shoulder to shoulder with longer running household name characters of the franchise

Not disagreeing with you, and there is some smoke to your fire, but I think this other fact is ignored (for what ever reason by social media folks out to push the other darker narrative to justify changes to things now deemed inappropriate).

I've seen screenshots asking them how they're going to match the new Lola but still keep her sexy. Did they miss that the whole point of the redesign was to desexify her?

Yeah, definitely. My girlfriend at the time I was this in the cinema with bought me a Lola Bunny toy as a joke, for a few reasons. After we'd seen the film, I said she was the standout. I though her attitude was nicely feminist (for the time). But then she thought that meant I was crushing on her when I wasn't. I bought her an Elmer Fudd as her crush to prove my point. Just cause she enjoyed his bits doesn't make it a crush.

I lose to nobody at age 16! Lol.

  7. I think it's a tough one. Supply/demand. Demand was obviously first, people came in to fill that demand, and thus began the market, in many areas: cosplay shots, OnlyFans sets and their earlier equivalents, the Hub, commissioned art, attempts at dodgy pornographic games starring Lola, artists selling cosplayers DIY Lola kits, and the  even more unsavoury stuff, which we'll just leave it as girls (hopefully for their sake being exploited the self} doing bad things with animals relevant to Looney Toons while dressed as Lola.

And these 'performers have their Defenders. Quite ardent and open about just what it is they're advocating for. (what they're advocating for is animal abuse, and these' 'actors' often worse living conditions at home) for the people taking on these jobs. It's a sad spiral to dehumanity.

And all from a kid's flick meant to entertain the young 'uns and in this case a slightly older crowd too. To bring them joy. To show them we can triumphantly stand here, having modernised these characters, and they're still the same at heart.

Instead these freaks' first thoughts are 'I wanna whack it to THAT one first.'

  8. Yes! I've been saying for years that for representation purposes I'd like to see them make Reed African-American. A bit weird since I'm cutting off my own foot, as Reed's my fave character, so why would I want to drastically change him? Well I think it'd benefit the overall project. It gives black people the world over a terrific role model-one of the smartest men alive. That's someone to aspire to be. And he's fairly normal. He just wants to look after his family, and do his work in peace. Many people out there, outcasts, can appreciate that.

    Black Ben is pointless.

Black Sue or Johnny causes issues for the audience.

Black Reed = Perfection. Role model for young POC.

STRONG statement to neoNazi types due to a mixed marriage and a mixed race child/ren.

Black man commanding the white people, even the one who could kill him in seconds if he wanted to.

So many positive communal messages it sends.

Just you know, don't forget or try to erase white Reed like what happened with white Nick Fury. I cannae take that with Reed.

  9. It's going to get review bombed shortly by all the freaks disappointed they can't wank off to Lola this time. They're all over Twitter, insisting they're the normal ones. I'll stick to the side that doesn't want to sex animals, thanks.

I'll wait and see this one when it's out on 4K for home release. Till then, I think it's time for a nostalgic rewatch of the original.

  10. Galactus looks great, but I've got the same problem as with all the other HasLab projects: where would I put them? I already struggle to house a Transformers Titan, let alone one of these. So for reasons of practicality, I'm passing. Awesome figure, and I'm happy for anyone who's going for him, but it's just not for me. It's not like I'm left out in the cold, I've still got my favourite version, the Toy Biz BAF. Imo he still holds up despite his age.

  11. As a kid I wanted the X-Men and Captain Universe comic just for that wonderful Hildebrandt Brothers cover. I knew them from their trading card work and absolutely loved it. Of course it was limited to the US only, and I think it had expired by the time it had got to me anyway, as our newsstand Editions were 3 months behind the actual release dates in the US for whatever reason.
