  1. This was never a cover, nor intended to be one. It was a promotional piece. Obviously it somewhat backfired, to put it mildly, but we should at least not add to the misinformation out there about this piece.
  2. The stuff I use is sticky. You might want to look into that. A marvel of technology.
  3. Good news all round. I can't help but notice that the judge's opinion is VERY damming regarding the Meyers' techniques and processes. Very eye-opening.
  4. Seeing as you already involved the convention staff initially, I'd shoot them a quick email with this latest update, so they can see what kind of seller they're really promoting. Maybe, juuuust maybe, they'll take action on this person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed. When someone wants to involve a lawyer, real or imaginary, it takes things to a whole new level, and is beyond the pale of civilised collecting.
  5. That's good to know, if not a possibly slightly weird place to put them. I imagine that's just old product, though I'd love to be wrong. These things are seriously ghosts. Take the ODST, for example, from wave 3. First sightings in September, no idea when it supposedly reached saturation, but I imagine October is a reasonable guess. I can't find ANY listings for it. Not a single store even has a listing in any shape or form. None. The only proof of its existence that wasn't a forum or Reddit post (totalling 5 photos total at best, iirc) was, as of about 4 days ago, a single eBay listing, with the seller listing it for 5 times US retail. That's it. Decent sized franchise, the second largest toy company there is (Hasbro have kept number one spot, haven't they?), and there's just this blank static reverberating through the internet tubes. Craziness.
  6. Not anymore, the license transferred to Mattel circa 2016. So far product has been sparse, with only 3 waves released (and like I said, wave 3 is a complete ghost). The figures are quite nice, with far better articulation than ever seen in DCUC (although I love DCUC) but severely lacking in paint. There's more paint than you think, but they end up looking really underpainted, which is a shame. All the armour is removable, which can be good or bad, depending on the individual parts' tolerances, but you can always just glue it to the figure if it bothers you that much. I REALLY want the ODST from wave 3, but like I said, that's proving impossible.
  7. Now I know you're not serious. Nicely done, your trolling got us all.
  8. In all of my years of collecting I've NEVER been this frustrated trying to collect a line. Seriously, it's like I've gone mad and am chasing a ghost, as there's just no info about these figs out there, and certainly no online listings in stores or even auctions. And it's a reasonably popular property too, which makes it even more daft! I'm talking about Mattel's line of 6 inch Halo figures. Wave 3 is a total ghost line, and I desperately want them, specifically the ODST. But nope, nothing. While I get they're probably not coming to Australia, I'm used to that, and these aren't even getting US listings. I've seriously never seen anything like it. They've been sighted at US K-Mart, and I think that's it. Please, some retailer, take my money!
  9. First of all Bonner-Bob, welcome to the CGC Boards. It's always great to have new blood here, so welcome! I can see you're a new collector, and I hope you enjoy dipping your toes into the CGG graded waters. As to your book, Uncanny X-Men #122 as pictured above, it actually has a few flaws holding it back, many of which are not apparent at first glance. These flaws are immediately visible to those of us with experience, however. If you look at the book closely and examine it with a critical eye, you'll see it actually has the following flaws holding it back- I see 2 small colour-breaking creases. I would surmise that they are what held your book back on grading day. Might I suggest a press to try and combat those rascally CBC's, and realise the full potential of your book. Exelcesior!
  10. There's something about the face-sculpt that really throws me off. It's not 'my' Magneto, not a Magnus I recognise. I'm usually okay with that, but not here. I also don't like the body used. Combine it with that cape and things look off to me. Like I said, it's totally my opinion, as it's a perfectly fine figure.
  11. These are beautiful! Is there anywhere we can view these gorgeous images in high-res?
  12. I really dislike that Magneto figure. I didn't even bother to buy it, and wouldn't even want it for free. I'm happier using the old old ML3 version over that one. All my opinion of course, there's nothing technically wrong with it.
  13. If you're thinking about selling it for $514.99 why not think about selling it for triple that amount? You're not going to get either figure, so why not think big? You overpaid by a stupid amount, move on or set a realistic price. And why did you buy it in the first place, it's such a stupid purchase. Who wants a modern 9.0?
  14. I hear you on the costume, it does absolutely nothing for me either. However, I can't ignore that if you look past that it's a fantastic figure, with two great headsculpts (I really want two of it so I can display both versions, something I never thought I'd want for Magneto, who isn't really a favourite of mine), and a nice assortment of accessories. The great thing about the energy effects is that they can be safely and completely ignored, with no impact on the final product. Put it in classic colours and you've got the best Magneto figure we've ever received, and one that won't be better for a loooong time.
  15. In no particular order: Jim Lee Alan Davis Milo Manara Joe Madureira Dale Eaglesham Jack Kirby Dave Cockrum Salvador Larocca Frank Cho Carlos Pacheco
  16. I think Magneto is a given. It'd be a super-easy repaint of the most recent Magneto from the latest X-Men Legends series, the ANAD one.
  17. Then you're even worse at this than I thought (and that's saying something). I got just over $900 for my ASM omni 1. Ouch.
  18. I think I shared this in another bad covers thread some time ago, but I'll add it to the record here as well. I don't have much to say about it, as I think it speaks for itself.
  19. I definitely like the office piece more. Wise choice, IMO. One question though, if I may... Why does he carry a cup of coffee if he can't drink it with the helmet on?
  20. I want to say FF #1, but I'm having a hard time dismissing AF15, or even ASM 1. AF15 really captures the essence of a hero so well, in a way that FF1 doesn't even concern itself with. It's hard to pass on.
