Yeah, I used to be a huge Bowen freak. Was a member of the fan club, all of that good stuff. Used to have a ball back on the old message boards on his site. The truth is that without Randy Bowen, we wouldn't have any of the statues we have today. There were pieces here and there over the years, but he is the one that pioneered the format, created innovations like "the mini-bust" (which was a cottage industry unto itself for many years), and gave so much to the hobby. I eventually sold off my Bowen stuff as I downsized my collection, but the itch to get back into it is always there. In fact, I had bids in on two statues this morning that I just barely missed out on. I'd love to have the cases full of them again, but it ain't cheap!
I have about a dozen mini busts and this mini statue. As far as I am concerned, he is the Gold Standard of Superhero statues/busts.
I bought this through Bowen's website, as he was winding down his shop (I believe it was divorce related). As I looked at the shop, I asked if he had any of these Daredevil mini statues left, and he replied he had one left, and it is mine if I want it. I said sure, paid for it. It came in the mail #2 of 4000.

You know who else have caught on? Marvel and DC. New releases are becoming increasingly seeded with new characters.
New characters in comics are like meme stocks.
I like to buy Spiderman (Apple) and Captain America (Coca-Cola), which are both doing real well on Wall Street.
These new characters are just (Robin Hood) and (AMC).

I know I shared this before, but met George at the Tampa Convention many years ago. I had a small 12 x 18 print of his Avengers Vol 3 cover #19. I asked if he could do a little Ultron head shot, and he said 'It will cost you'. I said no problem, a few seconds later he handed the poster back to me and said 'I lied, don't worry about it'. Class act.

Just arrived before the weekend. Probably the 3rd copy I ever owned, figured it was time to grab another and hold onto. I remember being in 6th Grade, and we used to rotate rooms for different classes. One of the classes 'Homeroom', had the 7th Graders desks, and the desk I had to sit at, had this comic poking out from storage tray under it. It was there for months. Even though I never touched it, I would just look at the cover. I thought is was amazing, with the colors and action. I started picking up this title around issue 14 on a regular basis. I can look at this cover and it transports me back to that time, and see the classroom, remember the kids I sat near.

I'm not a huge modern kind of guy, but this cover was real cool imho. Even though we have no word bubbles, you got the back ground from the Golden Age, and the current situation with Cap facing off against The Winter Soldier, his former friend and ally from years past. Tension kind of speaks to the situation.

Just a great style. He's the kind of artist you could place in the comic Medium 70 years ago, and he would be right at home.

No doubt. That's another one!
To be fair, Spawn has been a standalone hero in his own comic for 30 ish years now. Even had his own movie (although pretty bad), and huge range of toys, statues based on the character. Omega Red is yet another supervillain pump and dump, as news of a movie appearance, somehow makes this comic more in demand....

I believe it was Rocky or Randy, but definitely one of them.
