  1. Seems like most of the shops n this area, are doing ok, but not as much old stuff being put out. Very little Silver/Bronze. Are you guys seeing this in you regions? Probably attributed to more people selling on their own via CL or ebay.
  2. 1st post, holds no punches. "Hi my name is Dewey. When's lunch?"
  3. Judging from the lunacy (stupidity) of Batman Damned #1- First Appearance of 'No No Spots'?
  4. I used to be on the fence about stamps, but this isn't bad at all. Buy it.
  5. Cover doesn't have a member of the FF or a X-man on it (just some gratuitous memorabilia in the back ground)....lame.
  6. I had a large virgin print of Avengers Vol. 3, #19 I took to a convention about 12 years ago. I walked right up to George's table *no line, and asked if he could draw a small Ultron head as well. He said "I'll have to charge you", I said "That's fine" (not really sure what a head sketch was going to run me. In about 7 seconds he hands it back to me, as I have my wallet out, he shook his head and said "Don't worry about it". Classy guy.
  7. It's a shame too. I like the FF, but the newest series has terrible art and the storyline for the first 8 issues was blah.
  8. Modern Comics, especially ones that just came out, are a slippery slope when using the "I" word. I don't think things on the shelf today have much traction. There will be a few anomalies and variants that take people by surprise, but the back issue $1 bins are littered with the rest. The old adage is - Collect what you like. If something goes up in value, win win. But if you enter this hobby buying a $4.00 comic that came out last week and by slabbing it a week later, asking if you made a god "Investment".....not many here on this board can get into that. Blue chip Gold, Silver, Bronze Age books are good places to look at "investing". Today's mass produced, straight to encapsulated plastic, with a fancy label to match?.....good luck.
  9. I find CGC more suspect of it's grading criteria, to the time it was graded, both year and time of day . Meaning, they can be so fickle on one hand and so careless on another. Do I think it is a 9.8, no. Do they... evidently. Would a prospective buyer look at it and think twice, possibly. The catch phrase around here is 'Buy the label not the grade', but with a defect like that, why pay 9.8 prices, when other 9.8's don't have that printers blemish. Just my humble opinion. Still a nice book.
  10. Looks like something got stuck on one of the rollers of the printing press.
  11. Is it safe to assume color breaks are the bane of pressing, but if you have a white cover with dents, you should be ok? I have a Thor #337 that I was thinking about getting pressed. Most issues appear to be on the white section of the cover.
  12. From Indie Comic Review: Metrics: Art: 2/10 [Serviceable, in color, but poor] Lettering/Layout: 1/10 [A hot mess] Plot: 3/10 [Simplistic and messy. Heavy-handed writing.] Novelty: 5/10 [It had a unique premise at least.] Overall: 2.25/10 Shut up and take my money????
  13. I thought he fell into the Bitcoin Matrix.
  14. 1561 longs?! Good lord. I've only purchased 1 CL collection in my life and it was 2 long boxes. I am still going through and liquidating. I purchased a year ago.
  15. But I heard there was a Beany and Cecil movie in the works over at Disney- ( now sit back and watch the stampede).
  16. Gabe and his quest to $1 million dollars in comic book sales *only $999,900 more to go last I remember.
  17. I used to go to a place, and his retired mom was there during the week, while he held down a day job. She was annoying.
  18. No comic company mastered 'intergalactic' like Marvel. Cool display.
