  1. Slabbed or unslabbed, it's an impossible book! I actively looked for a copy for 11 years before I found a dog copy, then shortly after that this one (the Crowley copy) came up for sale. There's one on the census even better tho....
  2. I wasn't sure if PCH was pushing the GA envelope, but I really like this cover. A lot of PCH is underrepresented in the census. This early Ditko cover has only 5.
  3. Congrats-that's a nice looking 4.0.
  4. This just arrived in the mail. Ken Barr only did 4 covers for DC War books, and this one is the best of the bunch IMHO.
  5. Here is my latest pickup. I'm slowly upgrading a few select issues...
  6. The last page of an EC Comics story, usually with a twist ending.
  7. WTB: EC Finale Pages I'm actively buying EC finale pages, particularly ones with the hosts. Please PM me if you have any you'd like to sell or just get an offer on. Thanks in advance!
  8. WTB: Weird War Covers and Splashes I'm actively buying certain Weird War Tales covers and intro splashes. Please PM me if you have any available or if you'd just like to share what you have in your collection!
  9. Two names that haven't come up but were huge influences on me: Phil Levine and Ron Goulart. Goulart's Great History of Comic Books really appealed to the historian in me. Phil bringing the Bridwell Collection to the Atlanta Fantasy Fair in 1986 was my first exposure to rare early DCs (I walked away with New Comics 2 & 3, More Fun 9 & 13, plus high grade non DCs like Hit 3, National 2 and 5 and Jungle 3). He was always willing to talk comics and was my first exposure to original comic art when he repped Ward.
  10. I am curious to see what responses come in for this. I have in my collection covers that have recreated logos where the logo had been reused on every issue so a lot of the OA covers are missing it. I also have Dell and Charlton covers that never had logos and they remain logo-less today. I also have a GA cover that I'm absolutely torn on, because some of the original logo text is there, but some is missing. Should I have it all removed and recreations put in an overlay? Should I have recreations done just for the missing pieces and affix them to the cover the same as the ones that are already there? To muddy the water a bit, has anyone every done this with a painted cover?
  11. Great Boyette cover on that Fightin' Marines!
  12. Congrats on a great pickup-I've always liked this cover. I've been looking for the original art for over a decade, but the only thing I've found is this prelim:
  13. I feel the same. The Soldier is my favorite Big 5 character, and as much as I love his silver age appearances (and who doesn't love Kubert!), his Bronze Age stuff, especially the Talaoc/Michelinie issues are the ones I find myself reading and re-reading most often.
  14. Flanagan's cover work is solid. These are two from my collection:
  15. That book is so sweet I don't know whether to cry, drool or applaud. Congrats!!
