  1. Seems like some people embrace a filterless lifestyle, and let the chips fall where they may. I was in a small convention room with EVS years ago with a dozen other people.  It was how the show set him up for con art.  Very comfortable at a conference table and we were all sitting in chairs as our turn came up.  He was gabbing with everyone, but it never got nasty.  Never over the top. It was a great experience. He apparently decided to start letting everyone know what he thought.  I would think that was a mistake, but he seems comfortable with it.

So eBay can get their commission. Originally I believe eBay offer allowed you to make 1 offer before they increased it to 5 to maximize their profit.

like with any other negotiations - if you start too low many sellers will consider you not to be a serious buyer.

All he did was push me in another direction.  I came back here and bought an ASM 50 from the boards.

  3. My eBay issue is only yesterday, but not with ebay itself,  but a seller.  He had a ASM 122 6.0 w listed for $175 obo.  I throw out a $125 offer, and yes it is a bit low, but I wouldn't call it lowball.  10 hrs later, I get the declined offer notification. ?.  No counter?  The best offer feature is for negotiation.   .  He had a fish on the line, why not throw back a short counter offer, like $170 and let's see where it goes?

We have two problems right now. One is an epidemic known as COVID-19 (coronavirus) and another is best described as an "Infodemic." The first is a virus transmitted between people, the second is people transmitting anything and everything they see and/or hear about a virus. I work in healthcare and have been watching this since it first surfaced about six to eight weeks ago.

Great post and also, infodemic is a great description for many things these days.  That may be almost as bad as the actual illness.

But we're not even close to being all said and done. COVID-19 is just getting started.

But, you really don't know that.  It could get worse or it could die a slow death.  Speaking in absolutes is an iffy proposition.

The seller said even though he is selling some comics right now, he's not a comic person and he had never mailed a CGC slab before and simply didn't think much about it.  Whatever..... I'm going to send it back and be done with it.

This seller is selling another slabbed 9.8 ASM 700.  If any of you buy it MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR SECURE SHIPPING!

So, he doesn't know comics (or shipping them) but he suddenly has multiple expensive 9.8s?  ¬¬

Batman 251 is the return of the psychotic murderer (after many years of the goofy clown) and ASM 33 is (the final) part of a classic story.

No one is buying those books for those reasons.

I have heard/seen maaannny times (and many more times than about the story) how those covers are classic.  I don't doubt that ASM 33 gets a push for the story, but the greatness of the cover is always talked about.  And, the notations on the cgc label say "joker appearance" and "classic cover".
