  1. A popular example (not director obviously) was Mike "Mr. Mom" Keaton as the Batman. And personally I found Snyder's gratuitous gore in Watchmen excessive, but loved the source material so much found a way to get by it.
  2. Probably yes for fans of lens flares. ; )
  3. My 2 cents to add - getting a new Stan Lee sig is an iffy plan, his more recent sigs (the past couple of years at least) have appeared either poorly written and/or poorly placed on the covers. So getting a reasonable looking/placed sig already present has added value in light of the uncertainty of what you might get if you took the long route.
  4. Got a few high-grade slabs in great condition, sent very well packaged. Thanks Francisco, and good luck and prayers out to your bud.
  5. It was the 60s, a lot of women didn't wear bras on the battlefield, I think it was some kind of protest.
  6. If the hammer price is good, I actually think those 4 cgc keys seem ok for assigned grades. You probably already know that ASM 300 has a lot of copies with bad cutting job/bindery defects. Also I was pleased to see that IH 181 in 7.5 with that white blemish along the spine at bottom, my raw copy (I think is 7.0) has the same odd condition. Don't think it's surface wear, but now at least I've seen it twice.
  7. Mr. Chu is new here, but he bought a couple of CGC books from me last month as his first post. Since he doesn't have a kudos thread (I'll reply if you do) I figured I'd let brains know the transaction went smoothly.
  8. ^Don't know, didn't read those threads yet, were they less grim?
  9. I think the way it works is that he's basically signing the table in front of him. If your books happens to be in a good place on that table when his hand moves you win. Wonder how many times he misses the book completely, or catches just the edge? But then I wonder too many things, like how owners of Action 1, Marvel Comics 1 or Tec 27 must chuckle at the thread's OT.
  10. It seems more civilians go to superhero movies for popcorn fare than for grim.
  11. Shhh. Hopefully he'll forget his resolution and sell us more stuff.
  12. take it @ 15% [if I didn't misunderstand, since you already discounted]
  13. How do you like his Dr. Who movies? I first saw him in Star Wars, but over past 40 years have seen him in a lot more.
  14. It's called a "maverick" page (a bindery or manufacturing defect) and AFAIK it doesn't affect grade. Except perhaps at the very top grades.
  15. Huh, did I mention that part ? You are correct, with the number 4 I now have complete run of FF 2-200.
  16. I'm sorry bud. I've been on lookout for this book in mid grade for over a year, that c-link buy I did in 1.5 was borne of desperation practically. Now the 1.5 is an 'extra' I'll sell for what I paid if lucky. Funny thing is, when board first changed over to new format someone posted a FF 4 in (pretty sure) 5.0 for 1000 and I got lucky then too and posted "take" right away despite the new board format that I really didn't like, but failed to follow up with quick PM. Then the thread got disappeared and never saw the book posted again. I really hated the new board format for a bit (even though the new boards had nothing to do with my missed book).
  17. Pretty sure the "up to 100" insurance is included only when you buy the postage via "commercial plus pricing" tier.
