  1. I didn't mean to say I thought he was a sweetheart or anything, as I recall his only reason for joining board is to sell a few books, not to participate in any conversation or any post anywhere outside his own threads the 'sale only' forums (other than to promote his sale thread, I mean).
  2. Apparently the poor fellow posted the same kind of disingenuous sounding "this is a great book, oh, btw, I have one for sale" in multiple forums and elsewhere. His first attempt to sell the book (several weeks earlier) was before he had it in hand, so he found some other similar CGC book (same title but an issue # or two off) and used that scan in a sales thread hyping its rareness a bit (though it's a great looking 9.6 book). Weeks later came the spam, and he used same kind of 'soft sell' tactics (highest grade available anywhere ever for sale or something). Plus it's a pretty unforgiving kind of place, though he seems to have earned some flack because he's transparent but acts like he's innocent babe with only the best intentions for us.
  3. Glad to have won a few in thread. But then mentioned my other needs of that title and this man hooked me up with a handful of other Hulks. All arrived very well packaged, Shipped fast. Friggin a, thanks Rob. Greg
  4. Another great batch of books from the great white north. Thank you Kaspar! Shipped to withstand heavy-duty abuse, sent quickly, and grading standards as tight as my own. Glad for the books too, Greg
  5. Another great planet comics got here quickly. Thank you, Rick ! Greg
  6. My bad. I'm an i d i o t, sorry. I figured QC would catch that kind of thing and get label color right and didn't see the note on label. I suspect the hairy chest Wonder Woman might have been an error too, now that I think about it. You're okay bud, guess it's the season when wallets open a little easier to take the fly on the notes, real glad you shared with us.
  7. It's a factory miscut, not a trim. The seller was just using slang, as in 'bad trim' = bad cut, just like when it's cut with back cover mis-wrapped around with white stripe, for e.g. Thus, blue label.
  8. Yeah, I just edited my post to mention the Romero's that popped my zombie cherry decades ago. Thanks for the recommendation!
  9. I came back to comics for a while in the 90s and was blown away by how popular (and expensive) vampire related marvel comics had become during my break (like ASM 101 and TOD10 and lots of others), although I was aware that pop culture favored Anne Rice novels and Buffy/Angel so it didn't surprise me after I thought about it a while. I loved Zombieland and what was that movie, World War Z?, that was fun, although they moved way too fast, imo. Before this it was George A Romero all the way.
  10. Front cover made me think it might have been pressed - the bottom right corner of cover flares up a bit. But the back cover doesn't look pressed.
  11. Nice copy, 9.2 - 9.4 ? Can't guess higher unless you send it to me.
  12. Like I said... I will not own probably a fraction of this list. It's a pipe dream, but i will be able to pluck away at it. I don't plan on ever coming nearing completion of the list. But I'll spend the rest of my life trying to get as close as I can! First villains too?
  13. Marvel Comics #1 first Torch. And if interested in first Silver Age appearances then Avengers 4 (Cap America) and Fantastic Four 4 (Subby). And if you like any of the newer movie characters, some pretty optainable, Marv SuperHeroes 18 (Guardians), Marvel Premiere 47 (Ant-Man), and Moon Knight is pretty popular though expensive - Werewolf by Night 32. And Ghost Rider had weak movies but started in Marv Spotlight 5. EDIT: plus Avengers 57 Vision.
  14. Great. GG, Rhino, return of good villains, Kingpin, a few sub plots, then the slightly soapy Gwen romance starts picking up late 50s/60s, but it was cool to see him finally trending up with his luck with the mopey stuff. Recently read 1-122 myself.
  15. The best you could do with a rotten buyer is leave a positive with a warning in the text. And even if you say "this guy was a scam artist and nightmare to deal with" I'm curious how many even read the comments any more.
  16. Or just shoot the dude a PM and keep it on the DL. ; ) Just kidding, oakman, sure you feel bad enough.
  17. Could be a sixteen year old kid whose parents never used the word "no" to him. Could be there's a lot of such teens and early twenties running around, if college 'safe spaces' and new job of stress-guidance-counselors are any indication.
  18. Super quick super easy transaction - and I'm remiss not to have thanked Theo sooner for buying my Spiderman's (ASM 121 & 122) from across the pond.
  19. ^ I thought that one was even nicer than PGX 4.0 that sold around same time. Congrats !!!
  20. Based on front cover with the detached staple it's at 4.0 to 5.0 (depends on how hard they hit for pop). Maybe even a 5.5 if they're liberal? But back cover reduces, not sure if the back cover stains/soil spots can be cleaned up, I'll let the press experts opine, figure max grade at 3.5 unless it cleans up a lot. My personal opinion of slab vs sell raw - I'd sell raw. In fact just did last week, a 3.0 raw on ebay and got better than I expected (they've been running a bit over $200 a point). It was one of my few comics ever pressed, done by a boardie, and was a weak 3.0 strong 2.5 previously. Linkaroo
  21. Tyr opting out of the "Seller Hub". Or opting into it. They defaulted me over to some new seller tool as I recall so had to click around to get back to more familiar screens.
  22. I've seen all the stuff like that listed under the Mixed age and Misc. threads forum.
