  1. Bolland mentioned in his book how bored he was drawing this, he was offered a lot of money to draw another but passed.
  2. This is why you are supposed to hide your collectibles
  3. Yeah cause the real Joker has a better laugh...Heads up! There is no such thing as the Joker, he doesn't exist in real life so there is nothing to base it off of..oh that's right, if it's not Mark Hamill doing the voice, then it isn't any good cause people are so closed minded they can't open up their small comic book brain to allow anyone else to come in and give their version. This comic book geek mentality of "Bash it until they prove me wrong" is getting old already.
  4. Avengers 1 is a common book, Bob Storms has what? Three 7.0's for sale? Avengers 1 is still a good investment, Price wise, it's a slow grower and not a shower
  5. Cult fav artist, scarcity and/or 1st app.'s are my guesses. But I'd love to hear a concrete answer. The early Antartic Press books have the print run for the issue in the indica. Usually between 1000 to 2000 were produced. Inaddtion, most of the early Antartic Press comics were considered adult and not many LCS ordered copies. There are lots of rare little indies worth squat though, there's got to be some demand to the equation. I guess there are a few neckbeards trying to complete their runs then It's the manga / Final Fantasy crowd that is into these books. I don't know much about the market, but from trying to track them down, they are legitimately tough books. AP used to be super up front about print runs, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were well known that there were only 3000 or 5000 made. I'm part of the Final Fantasy crowd and i'm not into these
  6. no love for the 50th state once again! No idea why, I've mailed stuff to Hawaii priority mail and it's not any more expensive to ship than it is to ship to TX or CA
  7. Glad I hung onto those 10 copies of Walking Dead 108 I bought in 2013, just sold 2 9.8's for a $100 each I am smart.
  8. No. Movie math doesn't work like that. WB gets film rental, usually 50% of the box office. Theaters keep the rest. And don't forget the marketing budget, ads billboards commercials, travel expenses, parties, etc etc. the expenses all add to the cost of the film when calculating profit. The first 2 weekends of a film opening the theaters get pretty much nothing, (Which is why a bag of popcorn is $25) as the movie stays in the theater longer, the theater gets to keep more and more of the revenue. Movie studios also get a big chunk of the DVD/Blu-Ray sales, TV revenue, merchandise revenue and licenses ect... Even if a movie "flops" they can usually always make back their investment, media likes to make it seem like the studio loses out on all kinds of money if a film doesn't do well at the box office over the weekend, hence "81% Drop off Friday to Friday For BvS - Largest in the History Ever - Will JLA Get Made?? Click Here To Find Out!!! That's all headline click bait garbage. BvS will be fine.
  9. Hopefully this movie will have some legs, I think people kind of put off seeing it cause of the reviews but it was entertaining and it was worth watching just to see WW in action
  10. If any director needs to be fired it's Michael Bay, not Zack Snyder. This movie is Man of Steel 2. Calling it Batman V Superman is just marketing. The movie isn't as bad as a lot of people making it out to be, This isn't the next Fantastic Four movie from Fox. All this movie does is set up The JLA movies and the JLA movies are spread out over 2 films rather than cramming everything under the sun in one movie which BvS fell victim too..At the end of the day BvS is worth it just to see Wonder Woman, which she recieved a lot of doubt here before we got to see her in action. Never judge a book by it's cover.
  11. This book isn't getting any cheaper, too bad people who want one didn't get one even a year or so ago they be in good shape
  12. The price difference reflects the expectation of a lower grade for a resubbed book from CBCS to CGC I have yet to confirm this myself - just repeating sentiment from other boardies. This seems to be true. I would add though I bought a cbcs 6.0 x-men 4 that I think is every bit as nice as any cgc 6.0 I have purchased. So they can competently grade and I personally do have some confidence in their primary grader. Still it does seem CGC has been grading tighter than them as of late. I think it's a win for the collector/ investor/ flipper. CGC having some legit competition forces them to make sure their product is the best on the market while the other company presents an opportunity to attain books at better prices. The flip game is a tricky one here as these companies grade a little differently. I am looking for opportunities but also exercising patience. Flipping is all about how much you paid for it.
  13. It's become evident that loose grading has led to significant discounts on their books. I know I refrain from buying them unless they are offered well below GPA prices. I know some one who deslabbed a whole bunch of books from one and had them reslabbed by the other, and had the complete opposite outcome. It would be nice to have the details because my impression is the general experience has been the opposite. I don't follow sales of SA keys systematically enough to say this definitively, but it sure appears that the CBCS graded books sell at a discount to CGC graded books. At some point, maybe GPA will begin following CBCS graded books and we can do a more complete analysis. I know someone who had a CGC TTA 35 9.2. It was then pressed and submitted to CBCS. Came back same exact grade. Haha What a big waste of time and money that was...I could never do that with a book that expensive.
  14. This is how it starts. These things are like crack. Oh now you need a Joker to go along with them, oh and then a Poison Ivy to go along with the Catwoman and Harley...man, I had to leave this hobby, too expensive to have $500+ statues sitting on my shelf. I sold Modern Age Batman Bust, Joker Ex, Harley Ex and Catwoman Ex...I don't miss them but they do look amazing. Only kept Keir, Queen of the Dead, Apocolypse, Superman and Modern Age Batman
  15. With just four bids I guess that all it takes. Auction started at $25 I should send in my copy
  16. Here...Only .94 cents per box, won't get it cheaper anywhere else. http://www.ebay.com/itm/380910932342?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  17. This is interesting....$4350 for a 4.0 with Slightly Brittle Pages http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brave-the-Bold-28-CGC-4-0-1st-Justice-League-/281979378811?hash=item41a747dc7b:g:RjQAAOSwZtJW9Lwm
  18. I had the same look on my face (similar to Superman) after watching BATMAN V SUPERMAN. What a mess of a movie. They say people don't intentionally make a bad movie but I can't help feeling otherwise when I got out of the theater. ***SPOILERS!!!!*** The movie was long by an hour. The constant god vs man allusions were beyond annoying. Do we really need to see Batman's origin again? The only reason Batman doesn't hand Superman his death sentence is because their moms share the same first name? The JLA cameos where more like YouTube videos. The dream sequences were absurd. The best scenes were in the trailers. Storylines from DARK KNIGHT RETURNS and DEATH OF SUPERMAN are fit awkwardly together. The Senate hearing was nonsensical. The legless man is angry at Bruce Wayne because...? Batman was awesome although he was more Punisher than Batman. Wonder Woman's overextended cameo was nice but the reasoning for her being in the film was over a photo that she couldn't access but Batman could? Alfred was cool. Luthor was GOTHAM / BATMAN & ROBIN overacted by Zuckerberg. Lois Lane was boring and was literally a simple plot tool. Superman? Well, Superman continues to look annoyed that he has to save people. You'd think he was made to "save the day" by being threatened from afar with a kryptonite bullet from a sniper. Emo Supes should just slit his wrists and call it a day. This was aimed more at a Transformers / TMNT film going crowd. And I, proudly, am neither. He was mad at Superman cause he was the one who made the building crumble that made the I beam fall on him that made him lose his legs.
  19. I was always on Gal Gadot side when she was cast as Wonder Woman, I knew she'd be the star of BvS and she was. She practically takes down Doomsday by her herself. Glad to see all the Gal Gadot haters proven wrong.
  20. The film's editing was terrible. Film is too dark and characters are too hard to see. Lex Luthor was terrible and had no real motivation. Warner needs to get other directors and writers involved, can't have Zack Synder and David S Goyer write and direct everything. I liked it more than Avengers 2 which was over stuffed. Back to BvS, Superman needs to lighten up a little, enough with the stare downs and I don't like Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Wonder Woman pretty much saved this movie from being a flat out disappointment. She was very exciting to watch her fight. Nolan's Dark Knight movies worked so well cause he has a 400+ IQ in film making. I know Justice League won't be as dark as BvS which is a good thing. Hopefully Synder can get back to glory days when he made 300 and The Watchmen with The Justice League.
  21. I didn't hate it but didn't love it, I wish the BvS fight scenes were longer, It was too talky for most people I think. Really wasn't any kind of tension in this movie. Tried to cram a lot in and I think people's expectations on this were through the roof, Wonder woman looked great though.
  22. It was quite the experience, with a range from 'what an amazing experience' to 'who do I sue to get my money back'. That's why whether it is Snyder's involvement and approach, or something else, Batman v Superman feels like it is going down the same path. Dial a quote negative style: 1 - it was too dark 2 - there was no humour in it 3 - too loud 4 - Superman is what we should all aspire to be No such thing as an action movie being too loud
