  1. True...that would add a whoooolllleee other concern to the situation. So in addition to being super elaborate, it would have been an even more difficult scam to pull with this book. Perhaps that means there is a good chance it is legit for the owner then
  2. I'm only picking up the ones I see in the wild , and only the comic issues I own as well. That's what I keep telling myself 🤔💬
  3. My bad it was from 2020 venom/knull May be a tangent but since it is "some knowledge thought I'd contribute", now that I see the pics and know this book is common it "could be" manufactured that way It was from 2020 closest I came to seeing a notation all in spoiler u
  4. I have one form 2015 While I still think he has a point, there is one as recent as 2019 with a venom/knull book as well. I thought they might have been manufactured that way as recent is as rare, but I think that book has several. Maybe it is true to that book only or similarly I feel past 2000s is slim pickings, although I too have this one from 2011. @aszumilo I guess extra wraps counts toward his theory, while not technically a double cover, so posted one to spice things up!
  5. I forget what has been posted, but this one made me chuckle
  6. Do y'all come to Dallas at all? I have noticed maybe the same 6 comic dealers that are the usual, so I assume they get something out of it, while there are only 4 or more that rotate out and or aren't "local" per se. I was just curious the "climate" of the Dallas area when it comes to comics and cons, or if like New Orleans was on the way out?
  7. We were just watching old home videos at Christmas, and in one of the videos I opened this very collector kit - man I wish I still had it! That'd be awesome! My family was camera shy or never bought a video camera, except my grandad who was famous for never putting it down Sometimes I wish I could have had that experience. It still kind of feels like Holiday Aftershock around here
  8. That's been the same entry process for me, for several years. Getting there early to do the rigamarole does help you be ready for when doors open. Usually the amount of dealers is offset by the sheer number of books those few dealers have, in some cases. I've always only taken pics of the comic dealers first, which only fills up two boards pages worth of posts, then it's everyone else, so results may vary. Yes in person is the best, I feel you on wiggle room. There just doesn't ever seem to be a lot imo. Idk if it is what I'm looking for or if it is hard for dealers to find? But even bronze and copper books are hard to pony up. I usually can get a little less than 10% off on a $150 comic. Maybe $10 off, which I DO pony up for, but when I'm settling for what's available in grade of specifics I'm looking for? I figured that is more my problem than the dealers. Lol Of what I can afford to begin with haha it is a struggle to find a "deal" at a con, and especially on those steady sellers. If I don't pony up, someone else will. That kind of thing. Cons seem to be more about the experience and it's new every time you go, so don't feel outdated. "About the experience" also means it takes experience to not just be over zealous. There @ChiSoxFan is a wall of text in response, I'm glad you made out, but yay for effort at the least and maybe there'll be more up your alley in the future. Yes in person and attending with others is fun, and celebrities make for fun too, as long as there is comics, comics, comics. The dealers you show, show common sellers, which you may be in the boat I am and already own it
  9. I got lucky I brought home the kitten Before I got busy I schlepped on the mitten Can't get better odds because I'm a sure thing Proud Mary keeps on turning and rolling like a Ring Ding Jump the turnstile never pay the tool Doo wa diddy and bust with the pre-roll Customs jailed me over an herb seed Don't rat on your boy over some rat weed I was so close to deciphering the lyrics myself I'm horrible at it
  10. I remember buying this off the stands at a little gas station, called stop and go, which sounds like some kind of pepto bismol It even had a tear, but I was with a relative cousin who was visiting and my age, we were both allowed one comic. I chose this because it was thick and I just had to know how batman was flying and or superman I remember reading that night but trying to save the ending for later or write down how I would end it, before actually reading what was published. Hey I was 9 or ten, but a worthy memory for sure.
  11. I tell you what! A complete sentence in Texas But I feel like I wish that I had sent in for this one, and that I had been daring enough to send a blank as well I take it, it isn't allowed but gets by, and I expect these to be amazing, but like you said will make me feel as though I've missed OUT. So much so that I still might not be as daring next time either Juxtaposition in a catch 22
  12. That Jean Krackle of fire looks nice, I had to analyze the fire lines The character looks like her enough too without any really identifying characteristics, other than Fire and the Book Title. Well Done.
  13. Mine has the poster, I didn't know if it came in smaller size, I know some call it the artbook from 2009....... All good
  14. "It's that time of year again!" "To make bubbles with our spit? "No, no, no to have a reminder of old lessons of not yet desirables!" ~to paraphrase the animatics wheel of morality! Wheel of morality turn, turn, turn, and show us the lesson that we should learn! I have yet to see this in a CGC slab, but finally dug out the pic of it lol, and back on a random shelf it will probably go!
  15. I imagine the af15 is the biggest ticket item, as I mentioned there has to be a 'legal reason cgc put it on the list as suspect", that is if they will seek to rectify all of these with legal matters. I'm wondering since we think it is fine, why or how cgc then benefits or risks it by including it on the "list of called out books." I suppose any found to be deemed not swapped, that it won't hurt prosecution? Or? Just, there is no way that is hitting the market now in the slab it's in, not and selling anyway, and I don't see anything good that can come from it. It either gets subbed to competitors who will also be aware, or it gets to file thirteen. Speculation a bit, but I have NO idea the purpose or if intentionally thrown in. One could argue putting any signature series on this list (glad if sincere honesty) looks good for CGC. Then most thought the signature series looked ok or was fine, so why risk it at all when other submission numbers are omitted too. That's how I started my day thinking. I'll put it to rest cause I'm sure hindsight is 20 20
  16. Before the fertilizing in the yard and for cost of grading and shipping But seriously a fun edition addition
