Hi All
Kind of a random observation but I have been getting into the KOTOR series and thought it would be fun to do a 9.8 run - Based on "Key Collector" I looked up the keys and many in 9.8 are like, $50-70 ... Ok fine (I have the big keys already)
Then I saw issues like 13, 27, 29 etc... Selling for 80-100 in 9.8. I cant figure out why. Lower print runs? Am I missing something?
I know Star Wars collectors can go high on some things but so many OTHER issues arent touching 100, and wondering whats up with those?
Thanks!
Idk that the modern star wars "thread" @TylerHam gets enough traction here.
Ironically I found a cheap cgc 9.4 of a 2006 modern Star Wars issue today! I was tempted, but decided I was just buying to buy and yadda yadda and so on.
Idk if any of it has traction, and while I enjoy reading star wars l, it is easy enough to find in the dollar bin.
In short idk why any are keys, comics are good but is the faith for them brought about by movies and or other?
In short I chickened out. My slab was star wars legacy 2 but only a 9.4. I hesitate to mention here unless I wanted it, but modern 9.8 or bust, most here might pass anyway 😂
I had found the hasbro reprint in the dollar bins, and figured a nice first print slab would be nice. That and it is an Adam Hughes cover. Talk me into it or tell me to be interested and wait for a 9.8
Haha

Here's a recent pickup I won off ebay. This is basically my first real post since joining the forums, so if I did it right, I'll post more of my 10 cent books.

Out of curiosity 🤔 do you reside in Australia or just happen upon them?
That is so cool!

I was also curious if there were somehow bad reviews?
It sounded like there were only positive and people still didn't go out to watch. Maybe those interested were and saw it already without word of mouth having much affect.
Dynamics idk
Still enjoyable, so was argylle, but not your Blockbuster dune nor major life event. Fall Guy would satisfy me for a while from that genre, so would argylle
I didn't need it to be big, just not losing money and never heard from again in a market that is growing all too similar.
There is Bad Boys coming up, I'm not as excited about. Mad max I want to see. Some Wolverine and Deadpool may seem enjoyable but would be more of what we've seen and I've avoided spoilers. In the long run a nice time for some flicks and I'm not complaining or saying ANYTHING is must see.

Honestly, I hope you get the $25, because of the moxxie to suggest that as I thought it was too, but the Linda through me off and some of them look slightly different. Before I put my novice super noob opinion out there but that was the best I could think too.
If it helps!

Amen. I also meant to add that a facilitator will probably charge you $5 to crack a slab. Because they have to be the ones to crack a signature series slab, for blue labels they might still charge $5, just fyi, some don't or say they do but don't just depends.
Any signature series they will charge as it is what they get paid for

I see several in this thread that are absolutely lovely!
I'd love one of the HOS 92 from the guy who had multiples! I'd also love and Invincible #1 but kudos for those with the presence of mind to own them already!

Thank you for that. I guess I am looking for someone to open the case for me professionally so as not to cause damage. Will a facilitator crack open the case and also obtain the signature if CGC is not at the Con? I would imagine it would be a good idea to get the comic pressed after the signature? I was thinking about going myself as I would like to meet the celebrity. Will facilitators agree to meet you at the Con to accomplish this? I was kind of pondering of waiting to get it regraded to see what kind of verified signature service CGC will offer once the CGC/JSA merger occurs.
yes to all of the above, each facilitator is different, but most will crack it to get the signature for you. Or at least crack it while you go to get the sig, hand you a phone number to text, when you're near the front of the line, then meet you to witness the sig, and carry it for you to fill out paperwork.
They will not just stand in line with you, as that would be impossible to do for everyone not enough workers and or etc.
If the slab you buy is NOT already signed, you can then crack it with no problem. If it IS signed, and then you crack it, all those sigs become unwitnessed. A facilitator has to crack signature series slabs.
If you're just buying a high grade blue label, want to meet the celeb or person to get signature, there is no reason not to crack it yourself, make a window bag, which is basically a bag and board from a comic that you cut the bag (do not have the book nor board in the bag when you cut it) part with a square where you want it signed then put the book and board back in the bag. That way the celeb or person doesn't have to handle your book, and you can just slide it in front of them talking without breaking stride in conversation, limits books handling damage
As for JSA, Witness, that is up to you, and I believe, despite runon sentences that I've described enough that you can use this as a template for questions with whatever facilitators attending. You'll feel more confident when asking them, and getting a feel for how they do it
