  1. That means you'll likely have a grand total of NONE, as these price variants were only distributed to select US cities.
  2. Reasons I'm buying less than before: 1) Fewer quality RAW books from 1971-74. 2) CGC Overload - when times are tough, sellers would rather blow out a $300 CGC book than 20x$15 raw comics. 3) Some prices are way out of whack. Like a CGC 9.4 at $500 when GPA average is $250 and GPA high is $325. I like profit as much as the next guy, but 4) GPA prices on Raw comics - Next!
  3. Ah, I see he's dragging out the old "JC doesn't own any books, buy any books or collect any books" strawman again, when I've probably bought from virtually every BA seller on here, including hippy-boy here.
  4. As long as there is a "Catch-All" sub-forum, splitting the ages further would never work, as most sellers would slowly gravitate to the All-Ages to ensure one thread per sale. My thought is that since this change was made to alleviate the increase in sales threads, and the "front page bump" that was killing the forums, then splitting it in two should more than do the job. No matter what comic-based item it is, was it produced before or after 1980? Comics, magazines, Overstreets, toys, art, etc. is it before or after 1980 - done! And yes, a few sellers will have to create 2 threads, but tough tittie said the kitty, we're all out of milk!
  5. Nerds are Star Trek crazy right now, and that includes all series, with special emphasis on the original Kirk, Spock, etc. that this prequel is based on.
  6. As long as we get rid of the All-Ages sub-forum - otherwise, it won't work and All-Ages will turn into the mess we had before. I like what we have now, but if you really want to separate further, then we cannot have an "All-Ages" sub-forum for people to abuse. Duplication is what's going to kill this new format, as we should be totally delineating based on era, with none of this "Catch-All" BS we have now.
  7. That is kind of weird, as the start of 2009 was buoyed by some post-Christmas cash/GC spending, but from what I've read on EBay, it seemed to slow down around March-April.
  8. Yeah, and I'm not talking specifically about comics - just overall EBay has tanked badly.
  9. Have fun in your alternate universe where the US economy is booming and EBay is setting record profits. Oh yeah, did you hear that Chrysler went bankrupt.
  10. Wow, the doofuses really came out for that one: Once again, here's the point, which has been confirmed by virtually every major seller on EBay, who I will believe over a pile of funny book nerds: I think the real sheit hit the fan around the start of April, and EBay sales in many areas just dropped off to nothing. Sellers are hurting and prices have been dropping, with free shipping being offered by many large sellers, just to get rid of stock. Don't believe me, then go to the EBay Seller Forums and see if sellers are "posting record-breaking sales".

Sellers are hurting and prices have been dropping, with free shipping being offered by many large sellers, just to get rid of stock. I was looking for ink cartridges a week ago, and I was surprised at how cheap it was - much lower than when I bought late in 2008 - like 1/2 the cost and free shipping. It's bargain city out there right now.
  12. Although I think the Misc/All-Ages sub-forum creates unnecessary duplication and confusion, I do like the split between vintage and modern comics, which not so coincidentally, mirrors the CGC format as of May 1.
  13. Loved the reply. I read the rules but did not think that five threads posted over 2-3 hours was too many.
  14. What are the Mods doing about a certain SpoonDog who's SPAMMING the forums with multiple selling threads? I count 5 right now, and he's taking up the majority of front page with this BS. Once again, I call for a no-nonsense, zero-tolerance Forum Cop who can deal with these maroons in a very harsh and decisive manner. No coddling needed or wanted.
  15. The question is: Does the buyer convenience of having only two highly-targeted sub-forums outweigh the inconvenience to the small number of sellers who need to create two threads for all-era GA to MA sales?
  16. And personally, I don't even think we need an "All Ages" sub-forum, as it just duplicates what we already have.
  17. Personally, I would go by era for everything, and just use the Misc/All-Ages forum for large lots that go across the eras. So in your example, I'd use the GA/SA/BA area, just as I would for something like 1970's Mego figures. But that's open to interpretation, and I'm only speaking as a seller wanting to hit the most buyers.
  18. Question of the Day: Why are so many sellers posting books in the Misc section that obviously and clearly match the existing Age-Based Marketplace Sub-Forums?
  19. Same here, I buy only BA and the sheer volume in the "old world" was near-impossible to deal with so I essentially stopped buying. Under the new world, I still haven't found a lot to buy, but at least I'm in there looking, and when I feel like searching for some CA books, I know where they are.
