  1. Your case is different, as everyone knows you list *spoon*. I'm more referring to the "newbie influx" we're having - I remember a week or so back, I hit the Marketplace and had absolutely no idea what anyone on the first page was selling.
  2. That's really interesting, as I never noticed these "nonsense titles" being a problem before - coincidence?
  3. Hey guys, this area is EXACTLY where Arch and the mods want us to hash things out! You're acting like I'm doing something wrong, when in reality, I'm the one following the Mod's edict.
  4. One other thing I would like to propose is a guideline that the seller should give some indication of what he/she is selling in the thread title. The majority of people already do this, but these seem to be some gene-deficients who continually list with "High-Grade Books for Sale!" and "Lots of New Slabs" useless titles, and when you click on them you find a ton of off-the-shelf Moderns or esoteric nudies. If you're selling Moderns, then use Moderns in the title, the same with Gold, Silver and Bronze. Selling a lot of Indies or Adult books? Put it in the title. Creating an all-encompassing sales thread with multiple eras? Then post "GA/SA/MA" (or similar) in the title. If you're selling quality books or slabs, then outlining what is for sale is just good business. Life is too short to look at every single book posted here and I use thread titles to whittle it down. For those selling *spoon*, I realize many use generic non-titles on purpose, as they want want to fool as many people as possible, but that's another reason to update the Guidelines.
  5. Well that's it! I was only able to find 4 measly RAW books, so it's off to bed to sleep on my pillow-full of funny book money.
  6. You aren't serious, are you? If I don't actually do the things I openly condemn, no matter what you think of my actions, how in the world can my actions relate to the term "hypocrite"? def. a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings What you think is totally irrelevant, it's how my actions relate to my statements, and they are consistent.
  7. Agreed, but I'm just ticked at vocabulary-challenged people calling me a "hypocrite" when I do not take part in what I specifically stand against on here. That being, posting comments, gibberish, emoticons, etc. AT THE SAME TIME that a seller is posting new books for sale. That's what I hate and that's what I have stated many, many, many times I hate. I'm not talking right or wrong, as no one can make that call, but this "hypocrite" business is just stupidity.
  8. And just for the record, both of my joke replies (the trivia answer doesn't count, as Nik asked for guesses) were about approximately 12 hours after his last book had been posted, and the next day. Go check them out, one was 11 pm to 11 am and the other was 10 pm to 10 am. Once again, what irritates me personally is when people post gibberish AT THE SAME TIME a seller is posting new books - other things may irritate you, but that is what I have stated my opposition to, so to call me a hypocrite proves you have the vocabulary of a dried turd.
  9. Wow, I've never seen anyone miss the gist of a message that badly - congratulations, you're the new record holder.
  10. I'd like to announce that I have officially started drinking, so please post some sweet Marvel Picture Frame books and see if I bite.
  11. The only thing that CGC gives me is a pile of half-azzed Strikes.
  12. I think we need a Forum Cop (no, not me) with Mod abilities in the Marketplace who can *quickly* get rid of some of the newbie posts that CONSTANTLY puke all over the rules and make it more difficult for real sellers to get their books noticed. Someone like Awe/Jim, Nik, etc. - a guy who's here buying and knows the deal.
  13. And I just love how when they're caught, the doofus says "Oh, sorry about that, I should have read the rules" and then does NOTHING to clean up the mess. Real sincere, huh?
  14. Let's hope this latest doofus doesn't have too many comics to sell, or we'll have to open up a new forum just for him.
  15. As you can see, this particular seller is very interested in clearly up any past transgressions and quickly amalgamating his multiple threads in one. We should run a poll on when he starts a new one.
  16. If so, that's probably the best work ever by Milgrom. I'd bet on John Romita, as that looks too detailed for Milgrom and that CGC issue that lists JR Sr is the newer slab. If not, it's probably just breakdowns by AM and JR did the real finish.
  17. All it takes is a knowledge of the terms ACTIVE and INACTIVE. (thumbs u Is anyone complaining that greggy posted an emoticon in a thread that has had no new books posted in 24 hours? I'd like to see it.
  18. , yeah, you really caught me Sherlock. I've never been shy to state what I dislike about these "active sales thread hijackings" (i.e. people posting gibberish while a seller is trying to post new books), and if you disagree, that's your right. But I've been very consistent in my views, and it's not my problem you have long-term memory issues. Like I said, if you see a thread where no new books are being posted for what, 18-24 hours maybe, then feel free to post an emoticon. But we ALL know that's not where the foot traffic is, so that's not where the problems are.
  19. Sure, but the threads weren't ACTIVE then, and there were a lot of people doing the same thing (Nik was MIA). You can't look back and try and decipher what was really going on, as we're talking about a specific type of occurrence. Active sales thread with seller constantly posting new books/scans. Goofs constantly posting emoticons or other gibberish in-between these books and scans. If you guys want to jump in a dead sales thread and start talking, be my guest, but when a seller is actively selling and posting new books, buy or STFU.
