  1. To another up close 'n personal battle on a #24
  2. And I can put a sampling of the British "tribute" on the table, just to diversify the mix
  3. I've got nothing like what's gone thus far, but here's my two favorite covers from among my few Cap family books
  4. We ALL win with what we're getting to see here! Great thread idea! Is there a CMA #1 in the house???
  5. Fun question. I think the future is bright for both characters and the answer could flip down the road depending upon what is done with each of them.
  6. Thank you! Good question; I would think if he's truly becoming popular with current storyline/TV series fans, they would gravitate to his silver key first, Flash #123. Eventually, if they stay with it, I would think some would migrate to GA. Treasure trove of relative bargains among Flash Comics, All-Flash, Comic Cavalcade.
  7. Now ain't THAT an all-night topic! Distracting books! Kind of related ... The Adams Batman cover that I am personally surprised is so cheap (compared to the other biggies) is #230, with him looming over the biker gang. Hauntingly cool. (Sorry, I don't have a copy to post.)
  8. Yes, welcome, and thank you and Dr Love for the kind words and insights on my acquisition. I had recently picked up an OO Silver Age Marvel collection, kept a handful and shared most of the rest here on the boards via a sale thread. A handful of minor keys were passed on, so I bundled them to an LCS whom I knew would find them right in his wheelhouse. Turned them into a handful of GA including these. I plan to enjoy them a bit but they may be part of my read and release program; depends on a balance of how much they grow on me (so far, quite a bit) and how much I am asked to lay out in two weeks for the small (20 books) GA pile that is to be offered to me. The guy "thinks" he has a Green Hornet #1 but I am expecting to see the Dell FC book or the Gold Key. If it's actually the Holyoke, I expect to be digging deeper.
  9. Gorgeous copies, guys! Mine's gone (far lower grade) but here's my Elvis keeper for you:
  10. In the short term, I agree. Over time, I expect the manufacture of new fans will be fewer and fewer. But I could be wrong. Like Brian48 said, the story is mindbogglingly dumb. It's a Beatles-based curiousity, and I sold mine effortlessly, but it isn't exactly important Batman canon, so no legs coming from that perspective. That said, if you're a Beatles guy, it's up there with Dell's Life of the Beatles and Gold Key's Yellow Submarine adaptation (which may well be the strangest comic I have ever read!
  11. I would have to think this one recedes as people who truly love and care about the Beatles age out of the collecting demographic. (Yes, some people die owning their collections, but many unload first.) As this happens, I would think even the Beatles' long-held magic lustre should fade somewhat.
  12. I'm landing on 6.5. Spine tweaks always look magnified on his book; makes it tough. I bought one off the racks as a kid; love this book!
  13. Have you notified anyone across the border? I'm thinking Dave and Adam's in Buffalo; don't know them personally but they are not too far away yet in another country. The perps may try to go a bit far afield given the publicity and high profile of your books.
  14. I'm clearly missing something current....background, please? Is Garrick appearing in the TV show? GA Flashes are (mostly) bargains compared to many of their peers today, and many are not the easiest to find nice copies of. It's a run that deserves more love.
