  1. It ain't just you; that's about as disturbing as it gets among comics covers, and I realize that's saying something! My first thought was 4.5 as well; strong copy for a tough book. Wish mine was as nice!
  2. Seriously, I'm curious to see boardies' reception to this thread...it's nice copies of materials not often offered on here, so I have no sense of how many Dell/TV/Gold Key collectors lurk among us. GLWTS!
  3. Kidding aside, I think the key to your strategy is right there. Go with a plan (sounds like you now have one) but if nothing that fits the plan is available at your number, don't force it. Go home empty-handed and wait for the next con. Exception: no plan targets available BUT a true bargain you know you can flip presents itself. Then "settle" for that; flip it ASAP, and grow the war chest before the next con, where you attempt the plan again. as to my 2 cents on the plan itself, I like X-Men #1 too but I like GA Bats as much. X1 is pretty common as top tier Marvel keys go, so get the nicest on you can. It is priced low these days it seems. I also like a really nice X-Men 94 as its tough in high grade and cheap these days too. For silver bats, I like 181 and Tec 359 a lot.
  4. Is that the dude from the cover of ASM 42 who is about to crack Spidey and castle's heads together from behind? cool scores
  5. Beer and chicken wings would be a timeless, classic investment.
  6. Very cool score. I guess I could use GCD, but is the cover Matt Fox?
  7. Holy cow, Rick! All in a week's time? You're on fire!
  8. Cat, maybe I misread. I thought you were saying it was the same copy you used to have, getting an extremely lofty upgrade from 7.0 to 9.2....like maybe there was some kind of outlier error the first time it was graded.
  9. Thank you, yes! Solid and supple enough to handle with care, worn enough not to obsess. And a cool as all get-out 88-page anthology title, from mid-war era with requisite Nazi villains. (92 pages per GCD, counting covers.)
  10. That's a tough act to follow, but any day I can trade some bronze for this is an okay day for me.
  11. Patriotic Nazi clobber to Patriotic Japanese clobber
