  1. I personally like the Beetle. Comics were meant to be fun. Hope you find a page.
  2. That’s great insight. Thank you I’m not privy to the private sales so that’s excellent info to consider. I would be curious to know how much trade factored into the $100-$200 K ? Still legit but cash is what makes me take notice. On the strength of 1) quality action SPIDEY panels 2) Steve Ditko passing away 3) lack of publicly offered examples I believe we can see $100 K Is it November yet ?
  3. I have mentioned the fatigue factor as ASM 10 pages seem to have recirculated for sale repeatedly since the break up of that issue. The 1/3 splash has taken pages over the threshold but I think this one with no splash has arrived at the right time. Well see.....
  4. My gut is that page is going to get there. Just seems like the right time. It’s going to be an outstanding auction.
  5. Bronty what’s your prediction on the winning bid for the ASM 10 page?
  6. You guys are all crazy ha ha. I feel like the math professor trying to keep up with Matt Damon. How do you like them apples?
  7. Captain Atom to me represents some of his very best work. All I can say is wow!!
  8. I agree with Carlo from the OA perspective. I find most of these split covers distracting and prefer a single theme. As a kid however I loved the split covers in the comic book. Funny I know to like the comics with split covers but not the actual art covers.
  9. Yeah the dog ate issue 6. Still kills me those pages were left on a doorstep. Issue ten was sold at auction 20 ? Years ago. The book was broken up and sold at auction. I knew a Ditko page was coming to test the market as we’ve lost the great Steve Ditko. What do you guys think on this one? The issue ten pages keep coming up so I don’t know how to measure fatigue. This is a quality page though. It could hit $100,000 maybe? There’s probably not enough published data to back up my guess. I just have a feeling about this one.
  10. It’s a great page. Dr Doom looks menacing in that Colan style. You should do well if you take it to auction. I’m curious to see what it goes for. I held a page in my hand from this book in the 90s for $175. I passed because my brother got the best of the two available pages out of FF 37. One of the dumbest things I’ve ever done. Good luck!!!!
  11. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/panel-pages/steve-ditko-amazing-spider-man-10-story-page-17-original-art-marvel-1964-/p/7212-203001.s I can’t wait for November
  12. Blastaar you are a legit good contributor with a passion for art. I get where you’re coming from. I started in 1996 and I managed to hold on to three key pieces acquired between 1997-2003 that are very valuable today. I made very smart buys and today everything I own has been paid for from the profits of the art I sold. Focus. I swear I didn’t have a lot of money. But I learned to focus. Focus on one great piece then do everything in your power to get it. Many of my friends would impulse buy $100-$400 pages because they were restless/ Then a great page would come up and they were scrambling to get funds. its hard to flip art today to acquire bigger and better. So many people know the FMV of what they have. You’re probably over paying on most anything you want to buy. I think a Kamandi page is doable Blastaar focus on one great page. After you obtain that page hold it at all costs.. Zero in on your next desired art. You will build a collection over time. don’t worry about the past. I too cursed not finding OA until 1996. I’ll never get a Romita page without paying crazy amount. Things I missed out on. Focus is the key Focus on one desired piece and do whatever you have to to get it. Best to you
  13. I love the cover but passed on a few recreations based on most every reason you mentioned. Great artist going through the motions. Apologies to anyone that owns one. I imagine the first or second recreation of 4 may have channeled Johns interest but after that?
  14. I think branching out is fine. I wouldn’t do it for monetary reasons however.I would do it if the art moved or inspired me. Investment is tricky as presumably you’re starting from scratch in a new art field. i think the potential for bad buys is very high in that market of pop art. I second your call to action though Carlo. Any experienced pop market experts out there?
  15. It’s a great page. I’d think as great as Dr Doom is without DD more like $5000.
  16. This is a gorgeous cover. You’re right though I know it’s coming. Average, stinks, a child could draw better. Thats ok Sal is a treasure. He could care less about what his critics say at this point.
  17. Joe Kubert Super pretty line work neat effects
  18. a slice of solitude.....a place to hang out until next Sunday night when you turn on ESPN and find out the Mets jumped over CUBS and BREWERS and made the playoffs. Polar Bear finishes with at least 53 dingers.....#LFGM
  19. It did go up from $10 to $20......however significant others and children under 15 free. I took my wife along to the last show and plan to do it again in November. The good news is Mike Mignola will be here this time. He couldn't make it last time.
  20. The show earlier this year was fantastic. Superb art on display. One intimate show room not overcrowded.
  21. I'ts a mixed bag. Sure it's natural to be frustrated with Mike for hoarding Romita. On the flip side you have to admire his dedication to doing so. He was ahead of his time. So the answer is, yes. Mike because of you I bid $10,000 on a 3 panel strip...(12k BP) not to mention the CA sales tax that was coming and IT STILL WASN'T ENOUGH TO WIN. Not saying Mike was the winner. Just saying his hoarding and my insanity going against another bidder.....
  22. "Another purchase, it took the rep almost 3 weeks to figure out he didn't have the piece i had already inquired about, negotiated and paid for lol." Please feel free to out this beauty so I can avoid dealing with them. Buffoon!
