  1. I thought Marvel dropped the Fu Manchu aspect of the character and made Fu Manchu one of many alias that his father had?
  2. This might be Marvels Spy movie. Paul Gulacy stuff was a lot of fun and I feel a great way to feature the character.
  3. Is this worth doing in the long run. Honest answer is no. Its based on paper. But it is fun so I do it. I do hope to sell a lot of the books so my kids don't have to deal with them when I'm gone. Just figured I throw that out into the mix.
  4. I have been thinking about Mr.Lee after hearing of his passing. Mr.Lee in my mind would prefer to be addressed as Stan, and why do I think that? Because he encouraged readers and fans to feel they knew him and we did. The characters are amazing but from an early social media marketing perspective he created the mighty Marvel Bullpen. A brilliant marketing touch. As a commercial film maker this is revolutionary! Comics were going under in the early sixties when I first heard of him but with Stans creative touch they turned around. I guess I bring this up cause it wasn't just story or heroes that he excelled at, but advertising as well. This act of pulling us in, being a part of the inside joke is what makes the Marvel Universe work on an emotional level. A hero, a friend I have always counted my whole life on is gone. I am sixty years old, he has been with me for 55 years this is a sad day. Rest well Mr. Lee you earned it.
  5. The book is crooked, left bottom is lower than the right bottom. Still a beautiful book.
  6. Very big surprise, I didn't know this was a first appearance or own book? I have a number 1-10 but only the first 2 books have Sabrina in the title. Is the series any good?
  7. What a dumb greedy $*^@ ! I hate how people think no one will notice. I'm glad you saw the listing
  8. Same photo? Did he lift it from craigslist? Can you show a link to your craigslist as well. I'm not sure how he plans on not getting caught as soon as the two listing are next to each other.
  9. "So how much taxable revenue is changing hands under the table at conventions? And as a practical matter, are autographs services (e.g., taxable as income) or goods (taxable via the sales tax)?" I feel this is the real issue as far as state taxes go. They are looking for a tax revenue but I feel they will find it to labour intensive for to little money.
  10. Any movement on Red Sonja after they announced a new Bryan Singer movie?
  11. States are always looking for new tax rev so they turned this stone over to see if it has worth. I feel it will take to many people hours to collect too few dollars and they will move on.
  12. This issue might depend on the State, some States feel sales tax should apply for all services/material used or involved in producing the product to be sold, but you don't have to pay if you are a state end seller vendor. If you charge sales tax on the "product/service" than you can supply a ST -121 or what ever form your state uses to a Artist/supplier/vendor if they are part of the process in making the product you are selling that is taxed. Is the Artist the end seller? If so they might have to charge sales tax( if they live in the state and are a vendor they would have to). Hard to enforce over state lines like ebay. But I am not a lawyer or a tax person so I might be wrong. Sorry if this was wordy or wrong.
  13. I agree but it is strange. "Untoward" fantastic under used word. I gave your post a like just on the use of it.
  14. I guess they are heating up. Hell, I have every issue in NM I would sell them all for a heck of a lot less, un bound. Any interest? . . . Take a look at the automatic bid history, somethings odd about how it jumps up in price than drops than jumps really high.
  15. If you are new welcome, if not, this is a tread about "Comics heating up" not I'm a "lucky/stupid guy and I made a mistake and I'm selling my books way to low tread". Not to be rude but please. Now on another note boy did I find some great deals last weekend.
  16. Or did they? What does the seam of the case look like, it would suck if someone switched the label. I'm not saying it has been switched but I am from the NY area so my radar is on. The book from the photo does look like a 9.4 or better too.
  17. 94 is hard to find in high grade which helps the value a bit.
  18. Dave and Adam in Williamsville isn't bad or Sleeping Giant in Tonawanda both are great. I shop at Queen city as well. Sleeping Giant haas fantastic graded and signed books, Dave and Adams always has 1/2 off sales and Queen city started it all. Enjoy the shopping.
  19. I went to Nickel City and Corbin Bernsen signed my Punisher books and because I was the first Comic collector to bring a Punisher book for him to sign he numbered them and wrote "First Signature" on the cover, I thought it was cool. I than had Mike Zeck also sign them. Was lucky to also have a copy of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" signed by Richard Dreyfess as well. As soon as the books are returned I'll post photos.Great show.

  21. So if I was in my 30's it would be wise to buy and hold on for 20-25 years than sell when it gets revived. When I was young I thought about buying Spider-Man #1 for $300.00 but I figured it was way to much. Stupid me . If you have money and time, play.
  22. I agree, I find the book hard to find in very high grades, most are beat up.
