  1. Was it pressed by CGC between grading?
  2. Is there anything on the back cover like a small tear? If not I wonder what is inside? Great looking book.

    R.I.P. Woody

I am sorry for your loss. I wish Woody and you peace, both of mind and soul.
  4. I have a higher grade book but as an investment I'm thinking of picking up a few 6.0-7.0. Higher grade books seem in my head harder to sell off in a few years. I bought a few ASM 129's raw and had them ss by Stan Lee and John Romita thinking that this was a smart way to go. No sure if it is though. Any opinions out there. I hear signed books are harder to sell.
  5. Looking at the cover art I wonder if Marvel had John Buscema redraw Conan's face? Looks to me like his version not Frank's.
  6. Is there a known total print run amount out there. I thought most BA print runs were between 250,000 and 400,000? With returns and other losses is there a guess on the amount out there? I am not informed on the print runs my numbers are a question not a fact.
  7. I have only seen photos, though I did hold a Spiderman #1 ss Stan Lee a few weeks ago at the Hamilton Comic con. A friend who does ss had it for a customer and he let me have a close up look. Sweet to see. Her collection sounds like the thing dreams are made of to reference the Maltese Falcon. Very cool stuff.
  8. I applaud you for being aware of the true picture. I was nowhere that mature then. I remember being more poor than mature, I played and wasted money. Nice to hear about the seller, she sounded like a good memory.
  9. This comment I find interesting, if I'm honest about my life style as a young man I could have found the money. I spent a lot more than a few hundred on play. Booze, dates (this one might not count) bad books I really didn't need but collected. I could have found the cash. It was not my priority than but than buying stocks and bonds wasn't either. It is a long term investment and like others hindsight is different than the moment. $100 was emotional the same as $3,000 in 1977 to me. "Thinking about what might have beed will drive one crazy" very true.
  10. You are 100% right, I have no proof. It was not a literal example but figurative, my mistake. I just saw in my "head" comic book stores, collectors and others who might live in Florida, Puerto Rico, Texas, California and other states where maybe one or two books might have been lost. Maybe just maybe. But I agree you are right I have no proof. Sorry.
  11. Agendas and wishes, as long as the character is an icon i think it will be a book people want. When I was a kid I could have bought a Spiderman #1 for $100 or so but that was crazy thinking. The book was way out of my range, looking back I think what a fool I was. I think the same thing about books now, if I was a twenty year old I would buy a few and at 65 be real glad I did. Just think about all the books lost this year alone, fires, flood's and other issues. I have a 9.2 that I hope one of my great grand kids will look at as a family treasure to pass along.
  12. I really love the Joe Kubert war stuff. I was not a war comic fan but his work forced me to buy a lot of the DC war books. Adams had some great weird war covers too. His Golem vs Nazi is my favorite.
  13. Star wars #1. I got over 35 books back. All I bought as a kid from news stands. The Nova's I bought 10 copies of because I loved John Buscema's art. I bough 4 of the Star Wars #1 grades come back as 2 9.4's 1 9.2 and the ss 9.0. Pretty good investment of a few quarters and safe storage.
  14. I just got back from CGC a few books with great grade. Fun month.
  15. I was replying to another post where someone was looking for a #1 9.8, as I looked at the book I figure I should post a photo here as well. I got it back from CGC a few weeks ago along with a few 9.4's. I have a few ungraded I should have CGC grade. Great book. I also got back a Conan 24 9.0. I'm very happy with the grades.
  16. The two Kill 1's are a great find. How is Tarzan 1 doing on eBay?
  17. 2 books going for a lot more than I expected, 2 question? Why? and what are they thinking? Do they know something? I did a check and the price on this book seems to be going up.
  18. Screen Rant announced Dr. Bill Foster/Black Goliath might be in the new Ant Man Wasp ,movie. http://screenrant.com/ant-man-2-wasp-bill-foster-black-goliath/ I lucked out, I just had Powerman 24 and Black Goliath 1 graded.
  19. Would separating the books and take them out of the bags, laying them flat with weight on them and put them in a small room with a humidifier if you can press before they dry 100 % help?
  20. Sweet, you never know if a signature helps the value but Stan's seems too. I just picked up a 6.5 and that is a large price leap.
  21. Very sweet. Really like the signed Len Wein book.
