  1. I bought 10 copies of the first 6 issues at 25 cents a book when they first came out, I couldn't sell them a few years ago on eBay. Glad they are coming around. Might be time to send them in to be graded?
  2. Looking back at '72 there was some of my favorite books and stories. Kree-Skrull war, Kamandi, classic Smith Conan and Wrightson Swamp-thing.
  3. A very nice looking 6.5! Great find, enjoy.
  4. I live in Buffalo, the only guy I know of in the area is based in Toronto I can ask if he is taking offers? If you can set up a drop off CGC submission I'll take it to the CGC booth and have them watch as I get it signed, I'm not sure what he is charging to sign though. PM me if you need more info. J
  5. I remember this, it was done for a few issues. Always found it cheap looking. I felt it took away from the black and white art. Warren had full color insert sections, I remember great Richard Corben airbrush art.
  6. I wonder if the Shadow or Doc Savage books might be a future hot book, there was talk of movies for both character.
  7. Any word on how Black Panther #1 is selling? With the movie going strong I would think the book is heating up.
  8. It might be that it was a work for hire and before artist got royalties. Bob Layton was talking about that issue at the Nickel City con.
  9. One of my favorite artist to talk to. Mike Grell is a great guy. Love the series as well. I had the first ten signed by him a few years ago.
  10. I just got back from CGC 2 signed William Shatner's, I'm very happy. Great books.
  11. I have a few books with signatures and I called to find out how signed books would grade because I have seen signed books on eBay as qualified and as universal. I was told the books would be graded qualified, I was hoping Blue with a note on the label. As for grade reduction that wasn't covered in the phone conversation. Any experiences by board members I would appreciate that knowledge as well.
  12. Crazy time right now, books peak for a week than drop only to slowly go up. Where is Hero for Hire or Marvel Premiere prices compared to pre show. And yes I do know they are silver books, they are used as examples only. I have a couple of nice Logan Run #6 CGC 9.2, I expect they will go up in price soon only to drop a week after the movie than to slowly go up. It is like the stock market and gambling had a baby. Fun and frustrating.
  13. I looked at the sold eBay listings and I didn't see any up-price movement, where did you see the unusual activity? I'm hoping it is so because I own a few #1's and it would be nice to see the price go up a little. Here's hoping.
  14. Just got a few Adams Monster mags back.
  15. I have never seen this set of books, who did the cover art and interior art? Very cool stuff.
  16. Very cool, and it does let you see the great covers every day.
  17. This is both beautiful and scary. I couldn't sleep at night working about the picture frame hook on the wall or the anchor bolt, etc...you get the picture (pun intended).
  18. Might be you got lucky too? I hope so because I own a few.
  19. I think we have to look at this through the eyes of 1960-70 and not 2017. In the 60/70's art was not returned to the artist and was given away to visitors and friends. I'm sure Gil Kane could never steal as much art as was stolen from him. If the story is true I like to think of it as trading. Now on another Gil Kane story, at a Toronto show I was talking to Klaus Janson ( a Great guy) about Gil Kane who he liked a lot and he said Kane was a big ladies man and thats now how I see him, like a nice Don Draper. And yes, I am a big fan of Gil Kane's art so I might be biased.
