  1. Marty, I am quite sure others have more experience with this than me but as long as I entered my book's value in good faith as to what I thought they would be worth, I have never had CGC send them back or request more money from me for the grading. Hope that helps.
  2. I would like some of the big anthology books back where you get not just one character but 5-8 different stories. More Fun and Adventure Comics, and Marvel Mystery all were successful with that format. I guess the 100 pagers that they sell at Wal-Mart now might be similar but I have yet to see any of those to really find out.
  3. If you still did I would be willing to give you a decent sized stack of cash!
  4. I only have two colorless that are slabbed, but I love both of them!
  5. My only pick up from Dallas Fan Expo. It isn’t high grade but it is a Spectre cover and I just haven’t found many of these at all.
  6. To a point I would agree quality over quantity but not if it got really extreme. Hypothetically, lets say if I sold every book I owned I could probably buy a Batman 1 in mid-grade. But then that one book is my comic "collection." Would I get more out of owning that than I would 10,000 different books that I can go back and look at whenever I want? Probably not. But that may just be me.
  7. Dang some folks gettin’ some deals on here today. GLWTS!
  8. I think some of the iconic EC covers with superhero substitutions could be fun. Like tales from the crypt 41. You could sub Wonder Woman for the girl and put other JSA members in the circles to the left. Anyway just an idea.
  9. I cross posted this in the “cigar” thread but it always is such a thrill to make a match I wanted to put this on this thread as well. I had bid on other less attractive covers so when this cover showed up on eBay I just bought it and didn’t bother to try and make an offer and am really glad I did. Matched it up with my coverless and now I have a pretty (relatively speaking) All Star 5!
  10. Got this done last week. Found a cover for sale and had to press a spine roll out of my coverless but the finished product looks pretty good I think.
  11. Last time I had something that big that wasn’t really planned I got to add another dependent on my insurance
  12. I can freely admit that I have not read a ton of crime comics from 1938-1944 but it seems by the covers that there is a very different “feel” to Detective Comics than all of the other crime comics that would come shortly after. Was that a product of Flessel’s talent and style or was there more to it than that?
  13. All Right I have stared at this thing long enough it is either buy it or get charged with stalking.
  14. You’re probably right, wouldn’t be ultimately satisfying. Also there a lot of little differences that sort of point out why Flessel is such a legend.
  15. I will admit that I thought about tracking down a Federal Comics Men #2 only because of the cover swipe. Although there are subtle differences. The original is just such a cool image.
