  1. Here's another "Ruth" copy. She had some of the toughest Bakers (and REALLY loved them - so much that they're all low grade!).
  2. I buy them when they look nice and are affordable (under $60).
  3. CGC hated my silverfish copies (3.0 range), but there were a few additional dings than what yours show. Maybe they'd qualify it.
  4. This series is so beautiful!! Bravo! And now I know who to bother for the highest CL27!! I've got a few "Ruth" copies too. I'll have to dig them out. Perhaps the first Baker collector?
  5. Some joker colored a tiny color break on the red top banner "love diary of a g-girl" on mine. Sometimes I just wish CGC would get rid of the purple label and include restoration as a side-note or just downgrade the book as if the damage was visible.
  6. The Australian reprints looked interesting, but the poor reproduction of the cover art kept me from going after those. I like the lighter color on this Canadian. You get to see more Baker line work!
  7. This WAS my undercopy until I realized it's not a Blue Ribbon #4. Superior Comics - Diary Secrets #2:
  8. It's interesting that my copy of WR7 also has that brownish bleed-through onto the cover. I've seen a few of these with that issue.
  9. At least they got the label correct on yours.
  10. Here's my one and only Mile High Baker (that I know of):
  11. What's going on with the case on the PR13? It looks like the label is sliding down to the comic. I've always liked that PR6!
  12. Always enjoyed this costume design:
  13. I was going to say the same. 6.0 and higher. Especially how tough CGC is with their grades sometimes.
  14. Best looking copy of that issue I've ever seen.
  15. I agree 100%! I'd love to track down more of his pulp work, but my collecting habits have kept my attention on comic books. If only he had done more comic covers!
  16. So I decided to edit some Flanagan stuff together for comparison. After putting the figures onto one sheet, it struck me that maybe the vegetation is easier to see the similarities. Maybe I'll do that next. Trying to edit the color out of the comic covers he did in order to see the line work is really difficult!
  17. I'd swear I passed on a copy many moons ago, but I can't be sure. Not a cover that stood out enough for me. I don't have one. There's a 7.5 and 5.5 on the census.
  18. I really appreciate the attempt! It for a very good cause though; so we can all hate each other's inferior choices!!!
  19. Are there any thoughts here as to why it's easier to find higher grade Pictorial Romances than the other Baker romance stuff? Maybe a distribution thing?
  20. Would be so great if we could get a poll function working for the Baker Top Ten thread...
  21. Well now I know what to trade for!
  22. CGC should have centered it on the tray. They did that to a couple of mine and now the display value is a bit less. The slipping micro-chamber paper doesn't help with presentation either. All in all, who cares?!! IT'S A 4.5 BEAUTY!
  23. Anyone have a high grade TAR18? I hope that mine will grade as high as 4.5! I'm going to wait a long while though. Nearly everything I got back from CGC was a full grade lower than I expected. They're being real picky right now....
  24. Yep, most of my tall issues suffer blunt traumatic impact across the top where they didn't fit with the rest of the comics. Not by my doing... I bought a TAR44 off ebay for $100 many years ago, and the seller then couldn't find the book. Money was fully refunded, but I still felt shorted. Hope you get your copy!
