  1. He's scratching his head too. No one knows what those gremlins are up to.
  2. What?! You don't remember that you would sell this to me for $100? More than fair, right?
  3. The inset image of Phantom Lady looks like Baker. For the rest of it, I see a collaborative effort. One of my favorite PL's too!
  4. Good call. I see some Baker likeness in the girls face too, but nothing else looks Baker to me.
  5. After someone figures out how to do that polling function in the "Baker Top Ten" thread, we need to do a Top Ten Interior Baker Stories. I'm not well enough versed on the interior contents as I assume many of you are, but what issues have the best interiors? I just was flipping through TLP5 and the first "Party Girl" story line was real fun. I am also fond of TAR37's "Wrong Side of the Tracks" (probably would never have known how awesome that one is if it were not for Benson's book reprinting it). I will be checking out the Digital Comic Museum. Thanks @29dukedog!
  6. Do you have duplicate reading copies for review? Are you using the GCD to identify the stories within? Is there an online resource where these interiors can be read? I really love a lot of the interior contents of these, but I don't like handling my originals too much. I've been following the "photocopy comics on ebay" thread and maybe thats the way for me to go...
  7. I have a rusty staple copy too. CGC 4.0's these days are good lookin copies!
  8. My comic boxes are packed pretty tight. All my books are automatically "pressed"!
  9. Plastic can frost over time. I see that with old action figures where someone has kept it sealed on the card and the figure inside has that white crystalline frost. I've seen other grading company holders with what appears to be glue seals and the glue makes it look kinda bad. I don't think mylar will frost, and isn't that what CGC uses for the inner casing?
  10. You would have to do this with the CGC "Walkthru" price tier, right? I don't see any other way that you'd get a book back from CGC in time to meet the paypal or ebay return deadlines. And then, after paying the higher tier rate you find out it shouldn't have been submitted under that higher rate! Frustrating. This same thing happened to me on an Xmen 1, but I couldn't return it because I missed the return deadlines.
  11. Here ya go @comicnoir! Only two copies on the census? Guess I better get mine in before CGC raises their prices....
  12. Was that main girl traced on Wedding Bells from Love Secrets?!! Or vice-versa. Wedding Bells' background man with the flute/clarinet looks pretty close to TAR17...
  13. I agree with what you are writing here, but the thread isn't about "rare" comics. Some might be, but maybe the intent here is to call-out collectors to submit their books in order to help populate the census and create a better/more accurate report?
  14. Does anyone know who was inking the majority of these Quality covers? They look like the same hand, but a few might be 100% Baker.
  15. He did some really nice covers outside of St John.
  16. I submitted this TAR25 myself. I was thinking it would be at least a 7.0 (was kinda expecting an 8.0). I guess I suck at grading.
  17. Can you all please stop bidding on the Comiclink stuff ending today? Pretty please?
  18. Well, what is the last St John you need? Maybe one of us can help...
  19. Is this the first Canteen Kate?
  20. I like low grade Baker! More affordable. Here's an under copy:
  21. From the notes on the paper attachment, I am guessing that Harvey had an in-house library for reference material. For swipe material? Perhaps to confirm titles already taken? One thing is for sure, they were definitely reading copies.
