I do agree with you but my comment about purchasing slabbed carrying greater risk than raw totally applies. Certainly not an endorsement or selling point for any grading company! Myself since scandal hit have suspended any CGC slab purchase above $300, I am contemplating lowering that threshold to $200 shortly. Oh well at least eliminating the slab purchases does boost my Original Art "war chest"

CGC offers the free Verify CGC Certification tool on its websites to help collectors and dealers verify CGC-certified collectibles. In addition, collectors can use the CGC Dealer Locator to find CGC Authorized Dealers. In effect purchasing a slabbed book now requires significantly more effort & carries greater risk than purchasing raw. So much for one of the main reasons CGC was born in the first place.

IIRC just a tad higher than "run" issues from that year, about $150-175. Those with GPA memberships I'm sure can be more precise.

Perhaps it was done on purpose? Great way to make it seem like you are doing something but too fearful of Discovery Process, etc to actually let a suit progress. In effect it's akin to a retraction, something which few ever know about or remember...

Easier is debatable, as they have always done that (remember it's legal in Texas). What extended bidding does is always enable shilling to the maximum as being plausible (not a snowball's chance they don't), as opposed to live "real-time" bidding which by it's very nature had tempering effect on that aspect.
