This era of Avengers is totally my jam ...and it's always been way out of reach for me. I'm just hoping to get a panel page from the Korvac Saga at some point. Because after all, having two kidneys is way overrated :)

Which artist on the Korvac Saga page?

I don't believe that is ever going to happen. The loss of money and time to fix all these books will be completely unacceptable to the big bosses.

Wealthy Exec's need them bonus'.  20-24 months is what is required for the resume to get while the gettin' is good.

See it all the time in my firm which is in the Fortune 15.   Execs who stay around for greater than 4 years are outliers, 2 years is the norm. Blackstone is 464 so my guess is it's a testing for many resume padders "on the rise"

There was a small detail in her post that added a bit more credibility to it for me.

In the body of the post, she referred to Mike as a creep.....then it appears she might have had his contact information stored in her phone as Mike (Creep) as well.

You made a great spot and yep

No Sir, I just give up.  Plus, at this point my opinion of the process is so low it doesn’t make sense to put in any more time chasing that book in 9.8… odds would be good it’s either a bogus grade (where I would have just bought the label) or there would be something crazy wrong with the slab or inner well.  Going to put my energy into other stuff for awhile…

Is it fair to say beyond damaging Comics, that CGC has crushed your dream?

I default to the position that if it was a who that person would have been fired months ago and things would have carried on. I am now thinking more along the lines of bad quality product that they are using up in the lowest value submissions, but who knows since we cant see behind the curtain.

    A powerful statement.

What you have opined is tantamount at minimum to malice and willful (or reckless or wanton) negligence from CGC. The question to that is; who benefits? Certainly not the Product nor Customers, but most assuredly the division's short-term bottom line!

Their submissions are already being impacted, they just don't know it yet. It will get worse the longer they wait to fix the issue. I already have a short box full that would have been submitted and is currently sitting in a holding pattern. If this isn't fixed before the new guys start accepting submissions, it's going to the new guys. By then, the short box will likely be more like 5 short boxes. I know that by itself is a drop in the bucket but multiply that by the amount of people just in this thread that have stopped submitting and pretty soon, it will be noticeable.

You submit a few thousand books per year yet seemingly your business means nothing to CGC.  JoeyPost who is huge submitter and influencer has alluded to not being affected thus logically wont be taking up the fight. Then factor what is going on in the  "current turn around rates at CGC" thread in General, folks there seem blissfully unaware of the issue or if they do then perhaps cognitive dissonance :( As long as the subs keep a comin' it will be a very long time before anything is done.

Those who desire the issue to be resolved so they can submit again need to realize at current point in time CGC is "stating no issue exists" and "it's normal", therefore change simply ain't on the horizon.

A seismic shift  has occurred  for those who sell slabs.  LordRahl, @Palm Beach Presser if not already in progress, you may want to begin creating a new business model.

Collectors need to adapt as well. I seek out only older slabs, and am going after Original Art and Pre-World War I (yes 1) baseball cards. As well as more business to eGerber, Bill Cole (the new clear Mylar backing boards) , and BCW for supplies to nicely "display" my raw's and keep them flat.

    • Merchants generally only win 20-30% of chargeback disputes.

Yes u can be banned by a merchant if dispute filed is fraudulent. For legit claims its a tad hazy but short answer is Yes they can.

In more case than not for a merchant like CGC, banning someone will result in significant loss of likely future revenue compared to drop in the ocean for them amount of the chargeback. It just bad business plain and simple over a single dispute.

Well run businesses never react emotionally they react according to an actuarial type of calculation.

    That raises another question.

If you do a credit card dispute/chargeback...would CGC then ban you from being able to use their services?

I guess it's possible? I've no idea sure if its legal on those grounds in the US or even a breach of contract  with MasterCard and Visa?

It’s probably too late to return them under Mechanical Error. You could try to send an email with pics to them, but it’s likely futile unfortunately.

it wont make up for you items that were damaged, but why should you or anyone have to pay for said damage? via a dispute/chargeback with you credit card issuer you may be able to get a tiny modicum of satisfaction.

I have submitted a bunch of books to CGC and have never received a 9.9 or 10 on modern books. I use ccs at CGC.

what is the secret? I use a huge lighted magnifying lens. 9.8 was even extremely hard 6 months ago, what do I need to do to help get some of these mint grades. I am open to any ideas please help!!

    1) Reach out to the original cover artist for the comic

    2) Commission the original cover artist to draw any type of squiggle on an acetate.

    3) This is key; have the original cover artist personally staple the acetate onto the Comic!

    4) Simply pay CGC a fee to receive a Blue Label CGC10 grade.

Folks, Before you decide my comment is facetious, glib, snarky or sarcastic, please note that it represents fact from confirmed events of July/Aug 2022. I do not know if it continues to this day.

Warning it's 5000+ post thread and reading just the first few pages is not sufficient.

The other grading service is still getting 10-20% less in auctions for the same grade of the same book. Even looking at books sold on eBay recently graded by CGC which may have bends as you can’t tell from the eBay photos they are still commanding more $ than the other guys

Until that changes not too many are going to switch to the other guys and I don’t really see that happening. I’d imagine many will instead hold back from submitting altogether if they are so inclined until this is resolved. Which seems like a more reasonable thing to do than to hastily start subbing to an inferior product that may or may not even survive the new player entering the market next year.

EGerber, bcemylar, BCW all sell Mylar :)

You can send an email with pictures to Service@cgccomics.com. They will look at the pictures and determine if your slabs meet the requirements to return them under Mechanical Error. I wouldn’t be too hopeful though.

Send full slab pics and good pics of all the edges and any damages or irregularities as best you can.

@Benjamin1977 in the event any merchant does not address a situation to your satisfaction as the consumer:

Remember you have the legal right (in the USA) to call your Credit Card Issuer and open a dispute - at ZERO expense to you the credit card holder.

    CCCCHHHHHAAAARRRRGGGGEEEEBACKS!
