Hiya @wytshus Nitpick: How Long Is a Score in Years? [and Why It’s Called a Score] The most popular use of the term ‘score’ is in Lincoln’s speech in Gettysburg. Nowadays, a ‘score’ as a measurement of time is rarely used. People are more acquainted with the term ‘decade.’ If a decade is 10 years, how long is a score? A score is 20 years long. The term ‘score’ originated from the Old Norse term ‘skor,’ meaning notch, mark, or incision in rock. It also originated from the Old English term ‘scoru,’ meaning ‘twenty.’ ====================== How about "For Scores and 21.5 years Ago" as title for this thread instead?

They love playing them Mind Games. IMHO easier to consider any art they possess same as if it does not exist. I know several other collectors who share that opinion, in fact thats how I first heard it. -

Around the time of COIE #3 which Introduced me to The Losers, as child I recall fishing this issue and a stack of others OFF's out of the 5 for $1.00 section of my LCS. #181 was my favorite OFF took me over a decade to find a 9.8. Cancelled unexpectedly in the DC Implosion and in 1985 Characters were brought back in Crisis sadly only to be quickly killed off.

Great variation on the DC/National logo in the upper left!

For me a very rare Modern. Self-submitted raw. For short time 'round turn of the century John was writing this and JSA and I really liked the titles. Then his true hubris kicked in and his writing changed for the worse IMHO! Not to mentioned what I call the Executive Tendency, which is you do what you think will maximize your next bonus and future be damned.

Don't want to monopolize the thread. After this one will hold off for a while. I love last/final issues and have a lot of them. Oddly enough never realized how many I had until I began scanning my stuff a year ago it was at that moment I realized i was a last issue collector. Adams Cover. Excellent interior art in this one. IMHO one of Staton's defining DC works.

There was a flip animation cut-out in this issue, given that and the low last issue production I'd expect High Grade Census Pop #'s to stay very tiny on this one. Found an animated gif of the cut-out on a blog many years ago.

The cover blurb of "Collectors Item" is wrong! Originally on sale Oct 1980 and not really a collectors item even 42 years later

Cover dated May 1979 was a bloodbath for Marvel Titles. Howard The Duck #31 was also cancelled that month but more than half a decade later would have 2 more issues as movie tie-in. Invaders #40 also another intended cancellation but 4 months later the final issue #41 was published which tied up many loose ends. Lastly John Carter was cancelled with issue #24 however due to contractual reasons the next 4 issues would see print starting with #25 two months later. After researching May 1979 cover dated Marvels, in my opinion it was their version of the DC implosion. Not pictured are Rawhide Kid 151 and Spotlight (Hanna-Barbera) 4. I don't have have scans of my raw's for those.

Fell short of its 96 issue goal. Started off with a bang garnering critical and fan accolades, ended with less than a wimper

Last Issues for many late 70s titles have low pops due to low print runs. In this case the limited roads to complete Marvel Godzilla set run through #24 the final issue
