  1. Just taking in all of the results from this auction and I’ve got to say that it was excellent! . . . for bargains, that is. Man, sooooo many pieces below FMV in this auction!
  2. The Andru ASM splash went for 8.1K. Somebody needs to call the cops 🚓
  3. Agreed, especially considering the amount of OA making its way to European collectors these days...
  4. You know, this is a funny hobby and just when you thought you'd seen it all, something surprises you. For instance, a buddy of mine was bidding on the recent ASM 300 CGC 9.8 sig series, signed by Todd & Stan. He thought that he placed a decent bid, but apparently not, because the comic sold for $4,800 Anyone else come across a sale at this price level for this book?
  5. Been about a week since my post above, and not much has changed on the pieces I noted above. Bids are still flat, the items are all very affordable, and there's approximately 24 hours remaining in the auction Some other OA with potentially high upside in this auction includes: Buckler Superman vs Shazam/DCCP 33 pages. Hey, The Rock's gonna be in this movie. You smell what that's gonna do to the value of Shazam pages? John Buscema HTD #3p3. Will the Duck have more cameo appearances in the Marvel Universe? Perhaps he'll co-star in a successful movie and regain a level of popularity similar to Rocket Raccoon? Regardless, prices for Duck OA have been steadily on the rise for several years. Sal Buscema ROM pages - so, Paramount is proceeding with a ROM movie, which should lead to an increase in ROM prices, but honestly, these pages, like Howard the Duck pages, have been on the rise for several years. They are still very cheap compared to FMV Greg Capullo Spawn/Violator/Angela pages. Todd announced a SPAWN movie earlier this year, and he's also set to direct? Other than Spawn, I suspect Violator will be in the movie, and Angela, too? Why not pick up these pages now while the price is right, and much more affordable than Capullo's Batman stuff. Cockrum Ms Marvel page. Yep, everyone saw the all to brief glimpse of her at the end of the Avengers Infinity War movie, and we all know she has her own upcoming movie so I'm not really surprised this page is already at $2.3K, given how close we are to the movie release date. Kind of curious to see how much higher it will go.
  6. The last two panels look like Bill Sienkiewicz inks 😉
  7. Even if I live to be 100, it still won’t be enough time to understand the appeal of Peanuts. Lord knows I’ve tried.
  8. I’m not too familiar with Booth’s work so I took a quick look online at some of his Flash work and it’s very, very nice. I think you’re correct in saying he’s very talented and a great value!
  9. The new site is still under construction and there’s still work to be done, but it’s progressing nicely
  10. I think Black Panther’s movie appearances helped to spike some OA prices such as the Rich Buckler Jungle Action Pages. I also thought the Kirby Black Panther cover prices were strong, and probably wouldn’t have been realized without the movie hype. also think Preacher prices benefited from the TV Series (at least, prior to seeing the first episode or two)
  11. For certain all of the movie hype has helped art prices for Avengers and the Justice League OA. Others who are more active in collecting art from characters with TV series can chime in with their thoughts.
  12. He's had the Holiday sale for 16 consecutive years and I would think he'd probably do it again this year
  13. Some stuff with potentially high upside benefit due to upcoming film and/or comic exposure: Bagley Scarlet Spider #4 splash - lots of Spider-verse titles featuring all sorts of Spider-folk making their way onto the new comics rack, in addition to a movie theatre near you this winter. Currently at $121, with lots of room to go before hitting FMV http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB%2EASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DMARK%2520BAGLEY%23Item%5F1284545&id=1284545&itemType=1 Lim Spiderman Unlimited #8p48 Splash - same as above, plus similar splashes from this title by Lim have sold in excess of $2K. This one's at $173 http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB%2EASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DRON%2520LIM%23Item%5F1284547&id=1284547&itemType=1 Brett Booth Aquaman #50p20 splash. I thought Jason Mamoa did a great portrayal as Aquaman in the Justice League movie, and the trailer for Aquaman looks good, too, so there isn't much of a risk by putting in a bid on this splash, currently at $170 http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB%2EASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DBRETT%2520BOOTH%23Item%5F1284543&id=1284543&itemType=1 Craig Hamilton Aquaman #1 cover (1986). I remember picking up this comic from my LCS and I was amazed at the artwork and I guess others felt the same way as this was a bit of a surprise hit for DC. Lots of upside for Aquaman art, for reasons noted in the Brett Booth line above http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB%2EASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DCRAIG%2520HAMILTON%23Item%5F1285884&id=1285884&itemType=1 Jim Aparo Batman 417 page featuring KGBeast. This issue features the 1st appearance of the KGBeast, back when tensions between Russia and the US were still pretty high, and he's appeared recently in All-Star Batman after some time away, as tensions between Russia and the US appear to be escalating. A great East vs West foil for Batman, perhaps he will appear more frequently and play a larger role in the Batman Universe in the months and years ahead? He has appeared on many episodes of the TV series Arrow http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB%2EASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%23Item%5F1287728&id=1287728&itemType=1 John Romita Jr All Star Batman #5p25 splash - Batman impaled by the KGBeast. Great upside as noted in the Aparo Batman description above. http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB%2EASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DJOHN%2520ROMITA%2CJR%2E%23Item%5F1284550&id=1284550&itemType=1 More to come...
  14. When you say that it was yours, do you mean that you sold it to someone else who has now consigned it to Clink? or, do you mean to say that you are the consignor?
  15. And there is a Silvestri web of Spiderman page on comiclink right now, with Spidey in all panels: http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB%2EASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DMARC%2520SILVESTRI%23Item%5F1284555&id=1284555&itemType=1

  17. Well, I guess its time to start a thread on the Clink Fall Featured Auction. The OA portion of the auction ends Tuesday, December 4th. While I don't think there's a standout piece, there are several interesting pieces at all price levels: Adams/Mignola Defenders 142 cover from 1985 Andru DC Comics Presents #5 cover featuring Superman, Aquaman and Ocean Master! Andru ASM 134p1 splash. I am not a Ross Andru fan, but even I have to admit this one is sweet! Aprao Brave and the Bold #140 cover featuring Batman with Wonder Woman Bolland Joker Illo Ernie Chan Master of Kung Fu #17 cover (begin series) Copiel Thor Omnibus cover (homage to JIM #83) Colan DD #26 cover Cowan Jonah Hex #92 cover (last issue) Frazetta Dracula Paperback cover painting Hannigan ROM 16 cover More to come...
  18. It was a good show, and with the expanded dealer's room, I met some sellers that I hadn't come across before so that was positive. Had a blast catching up with long time dealers such as Moe, Wally, Marc, Pete, Wes, Jimmy, etc. One drawback to the dealer's floor (and this is no fault to the convention organizer) is the lighting. Its horrible for trying to discern spine nicks and other defects when looking at high grade books. Other than that, no other suggestions for improvement.
